Adorable room with artistic touches. Truly set in the treetops. Great shops, restaurants and easy ferry access nearby. Of course you are right near the beach and lighthouse. Only negative would be steps for someone that canât climb easily and no TV but we knew both up front.
The upstairs in a private home has been converted into a charming room with private entrance and a bathroom. Wonderful scenery from the private porch is very much like sitting in a treehouse. Lisa is a delightful hostess and has provided almost all the amenities of home. Everything from her own beautiful artwork on the walls to the bug spray on the table on the porch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
They were okay, we were able to check in early, which was really nice. A kitchen sink would have been nice so that we didnât need to use the restroom sink. A counter top oven would be great. The curtains need to be updated. The nightstands are worn and should be covered. The main reason for the low rating is because the owner smoked marijuana more than once when we were there. That is one of the main reasons we look for a property away from others. The smell made us feel nauseous, and was very rude.
This cute room was perfect for a nights stay in Buxton. Lisa was friendly and accomodating, and provided just about everything you need to enjoy not only the night there but the morning after as well. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are a single person or a couple looking for a place to stay for the weekend.
Unique apartment that was warm, cozy and fun. We drank coffee on the deck in the tree tops. This place had everything any one could want. I highly recommend.
Trees and water who could ask for anything else and really enjoyed Diamond Shoals restaurant. I could lay on the bed with screen door open and enjoy nature sounds.
My husband and I came for just one night to explore the Cape. I enjoyed breeze coming in from the ocean and waking up to the sounds of birds. Lisa's place is clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed; also very close to Pop's, which had delicious and inexpensive seafood.
Gorgeous little treetop room with great views. Just outside Buxton with access to all amenities. Pops Bar and restaurant is 200 feet away, so stumbling distance home from the bar :) Hostess was amazing and responded immediately to any inquiries.
Lisa was great, I needed a place to crash a couple nights for an OBX wedding. Perfect 10 min drive south of Avon. Access to the lighthouse in a short drive or nice long walk around to the point of the cape. She suggested the Palmico Inn for breakfast, which was perfect during the mid week mornings.
Such a quaint beautiful small space which was created with such grace and love. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice quiet getaway
We couldnât have asked for a more perfect place for our getaway weekend at the beach. It was a quaint little treehouse that was very welcoming and made our short stay absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be returning with the anticipation of hopefully listening to the host perform.
Was nice. Place was very cute, top floor above another apartment where owner lives. Only thing we didn't care for was the privacy, as we were directly above owner and couldn't make much noise, not a whole lot of orivacy. Owner nice, 1 parking spot, good ac
I am an artist who has lived on Hatteras with my husband, also an artist, for 39 years. I now continue to live and work on Hatteras by myself. I play guitar and other instruments, sometimes in local venues. My work is part time at a beautiful gallery in Avon called Kinnakeet Clay, where I create various items from slabs of clay that we sell in the gallery.
We bought this property after living here for many years. My husband was an avid fisherman, gardener and painter, and living on Hatteras Island gave him opportunity to do all of these things. We enjoyed the small island community and I am glad to still be living here.
