My husband and I spent the weekend here and throughly enjoyed the privacy. Everything was spotless and ready for us to settle in. Beautiful property!!!
The property is inviting and peaceful. The lake, river, hiking trails are enjoyable to get your mind off busy life. Cabin is small but have cozy feeling with fireplace and deck facing the river. We would definitely come back to this place!!CJ, the property manager, is a very welcoming person, easy to communicate. Recommended!!
First I need to say CJ was incredibly accommodating at the last minute booking I did. My husband and I needed some down time and some peace and quiet, so I found this cabin at the last minute. It was exactly what we needed to decompress. The area is gorgeous and we loved the large creek behind the cabin. The sounds of the rippling water were soothing and so relaxing I fell asleep in the chair on the deck! Would definitely recommend booking this cabin! Thanks again CJ!
The cabin is a quaint, no frills place that served our purpose of being close to Gillsville the day before and night of our wedding. If youâre looking for total relaxation and peace and quiet, itâs a great place. If you need cell service (I have T-Mobile), youâll need to plan to go almost to the main highway for service. This isnât a complaint but just something Iâd wish the I had known since I still needed to be in contact with vendors the day/night before our wedding.
Private, cozy getaway. In the winter with no leaves you can see RVâs if people are there, but on hot tub side very private. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is clean and well decorated. No WiFi but we enjoyed disconnecting.
The property was beautiful and well maintained. The cabin was clean with comfortable furniture. The grounds provided scenic walks that we followed with relaxing in the hot tub.
The property was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed coffee on the back deck listening to the water flowing. We relaxed in the hot tub in the evening. Slept peacefully in the cozy cabin. Soaked in wooded area filled with colors and sounds. The cabin was everything we hope for and the setting was enchanting.
The best stay ever. Quiet and private. Secluded and peaceful. Hiking trails a plus. Most convenient area. Very clean and problem free. Best value. Will definitely go back. Also a very private camper area. Horse friendly with certain fees.
Wonderful property with beautiful views of the horse ranch. CJ was so accommodating and helpful. We already put in a request to book next year.
Everything is ready for you to come and enjoy!
Great geta-way off the beaten path. We came to GA for an Agaware Seminar and were glad to find this cute cottage with beautiful views of a creek on the back side and property pond on the front side. Additionally available were several hiking trails you were able to take advantage before jumping in the screened in porch cabin hot tub. Owner CJ checked with us soon after checking in to make certain all was as expected ... and touched base afterwards again - great folks - great atmosphere.
The place was gorgeous and loved the peace and quiet. C J was a perfect host. Loved seeing the horses in the late afternoon sun when we would come back to the cabin.
This cabin was just what we were looking forâŠoff the beaten path yet a close enough drive for any necessities. Communication with CJ was excellent. We had such a nice, relaxing time hanging out and enjoying the peace and quiet. The only time we left the property was to visit Sweet Acre Farms Winery where we sat on the back porch and enjoyed some acoustic live music. We hope to visit again sometime.
First, when you get there, you cannot lock the door you can walk right in. You can only lock the door from the inside so when going to the Walmart thatâs 45 minutes away we had to leave the doors open when we first got the door smell like they just put a bomb bug bomb and smell like bomb bug spray Pot pans that were in the covers were old dated used up and dirty refrigerator work because the freezer did not work so hard we had to sleep in the other room decor the way the cabin was decorated with something out of a horror movie or 1970 sitcom they say you can fish However thereâs no fish in a man-made lake they say however unless you got rock climbing gear, you canât walk the trail then we later she tried to charge me for a cleaning fee when we didnât even use their sheets. This is the worst cabin experience ever , only two eyes on the stove work. It was just a disaster.
Me and my grandkids went to the cabin to get away for my birthday. We enjoyed hiking and fishing and the hot tub. We also spent 1 day in Helen GA and had a lovely day.
We came to this cabin with one goal: Relax. Unplugging from our day to day lives was so necessary. And that is exactly what we got to do. Sitting on the deck, drinking coffee and looking at the pond. Throwing in a few lines to catch fish. Hearing the creek down the hill and just birds. Serene. Seeing horses on the hill.
CJ was so easy to get a hold of, and checked in with us often.
We are already looking into coming back!
This is my second visit to The River Cabin and it was even better than the first! I love the peace and quiet.
CJ is so accommodating. She is there if you need her and makes sure everything at the cabin is perfect for your visit.
I will be going back again!
If you are looking for someplace relaxing with a remote feel, this is the place for you. It is conveniently located to Gainesville, Lake Lanier (north end), and the NE Georgia mountains. CJ was prompt in responding to communication. We loved this stay.
A charming cottage that provided all of our needs for the weekend! The sounds of the creek and the views of a magnificent property w
Are very peaceful!
A resident of Georgia since 1980, we built this facility in 2005 to expand my horse business and develop a nature preserve. The cabin was originally put on the master plan and constructed to house equestrian guests visiting the ranch to attend a clinic or a riding vacation. For a better return on the investment, I opened the cabin to non-equestrian visitors.
I performed volunteer work on a trail system partially located in Banks County for the US Forest Service and could not help but notice how scenic the area was. The rural atmosphere, coupled with a very low crime rate, no traffic issues, yet close to shopping and other necessities made it an appealing choice for personal and business reasons.
The many noisy shoals and scenic beauty of the river/creek was one of the most appealing features of the property. Once the center of the property was cleared for pasture and construction of the equestrian center, it revealed a beautiful 180 degree ridge view with stunning sunsets. Being able to enjoy the mountainous terrain, the appearance of being in the middle of nowhere, and yet only 10 minutes away 'modern civilization' via three 4-lane highways is a huge plus.
