Scott made the check in process seamless. We were in a well stocked lakeside cabin. The fall foliage was beautiful and the 2 bald eagles nearby were icing on the cake. It was a wonderfully quiet getaway.
Check-in and communication with our host, Scott was very easy. We had a perfect weather week so that added to the experience. The neighbors were very friendly, greeting us and chatting on our daily dog walks. The best part about this cottage is the wonderful deck area and view of Lake George. I tried to get our goldens to go swimming, but they are not really water lovers so they only frolicked once long enough for me to video them! The area is lovely though if you ARE water lovers even having a sandy beach. You must bring your linens and towels (kitchen towels too) which Scott states in his write up. The beds are comfortable and the rainfall shower is nice. No hair dryer provided. There were spices, coffee and filters for the standard coffeemaker as well as paper towels and foil. Also a Keurig provided. We walked the dogs at the Harrison City Park several times which is a really nice place with pavilions, basketball court, tennis court, playground, and an awesome paved walking/biking path. We drove up to Cadillac one day which also has a great park, Heritage Park, on Lake Cadillac. There's a place called The Sweet Shop that makes awesome chocolates and covered apples. The best daytrip was to Dow Gardens in Midland. AWESOME place. There's the longest canopy walk in the US. Plus so many other features to experience. Also in Midland is "The 'Tridge" which is a 3-pronged pedestrian bridge in a beautiful area. We very much enjoyed our week at Scott's.
The cabin was exactly what we needed. The views are fabulous. The huge deck and large living room windows made the view seem endless. We had loons daily and the Northern Lights the last evening of our stay. We appreciated the amount of firewood for campfires down by the lake. There were quite a few comments about the well water, but the system the owner has installed worked great. If you have been to Jacksonville or Plant City, FL, you would think this was great water! The bathrooms were fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed the rainwater shower head. The cabin is not new or fancy, but worth every penny. This is a diamond in the rough. The bed was low to the floor and that was the only struggle my wife had as she recently had knee replacement surgery. The owner was great with communicating and making sure we knew what we would need for our stay.
Loved this cabin, small but clean and beautiful! The deck was huge with comfortable furniture, beach area was clean, great fishing on the lake and Scott communicated very well. My husband and I stayed with our two kids and it was perfect, will definitely be back next year!
No matter how wonderful the venue, a restful night is key. Mattresses need replacing. Otherwise, the vintage appointments mixed with the modern remodel were delightful and reminded me of my childhood at a lake in the north woods. Loons, water and simplicity.
This property is great! Has a private, sandy beach, nice area for swimming, and can fish right off the dock. We especially enjoyed the shady yard with a HUGE deck and comfortable furniture, picnic table, high table, rocking chairs and two different porch swings. The original cabin is still intact with knotty pine and fun retro furnishings for the "up north Michigan" vibe but the bathrooms are completely updated. The property has well water but just bring bottled water and all is good.
If you live a beautiful lake and a fabulous deck this is yout place
Just driving up to the lake house is exiting. The street side of the house is very impressive. The entrance leads to a large breesway that is full of light and a great view if the expansive deck. We called the cottage "Pineview" or "Whispering Pines" because of dominating nature of their presents that enhances the total view experience. The main house is quaint. The maintenance of the original summer place feel is present and the collected decorations and momentis all add ti the vibe. Once out on the deck that never ends; you are engulfed in the expansive lake view. The nice new dock invites you down to the fire pit and beach. The peddle boat and row boat await aquatic adventures. We enjoyed ir stay very much. Beung older we would have liked a higher bed and we never got used to the well water but the negatives never out weighed the positives.
Better than advertised

You feel at home
The deck and lights give you another location to relax
You want to unwind and relax, this is the place. Owner was fantastic with communicating. Having coffee on the patio overlooking the lake in the morning was the best. If you enjoy fishing it is great. Beautiful place. We enjoyed are stay very mich. We will be back!
Scott was easy to communicate with and quick to answer questions. We enjoyed the boats, the view and the relaxed feel of the home, deck and firepit area. It was perfect for many hours of relaxed reading. There was plenty of firewood and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. It was a great week!
Beach and house were perfect. We enjoyed a nice relaxing week with our dog. Scott was very responsive and checked to make sure we had arrived and if everything was good and followed up afterwards. We would definitely stay there again.
This house was absolutely beautiful and the scenery and kayak and paddle boat and row boat came in handy . Love the little beach area and the hammock was awesome just laying on it. The only downfall was the water smell but bought bottle water. Other than. That is is totally amazing place to see and stay at. Beautiful deck all around the house. Will definitely come back here. Cynthia from Mt clemens mich
Everything as stated and so much more. Scott was very available for any and all questions. Very clean, beautiful environment. Yes, water does have a sulfurish smell but if you let it run for a minute it's not so bad and very tolerable. Do bring bottled water for drinking along with your towels and linens. If relaxing is what you are searching for this is it. Thank You Scott!!!
We drove for two days from Florida to get to this property and it was so worth it! The location alone on Lake George was perfect and the bonus of having the paddle boat and kayaks made it even better. I am a big fan of porch swings and to my delight there were 3!! The home had everything we needed and the owner,Scott was very quick to answer any questions we had and checked on us to make sure things were going well. One note-the water has a bit of a sulpher smell but we just used bottled water for drinking and cooking so it wasnât really an issue. Day trips to Traverse city and Mackinac island were easy to get to from this location. We also enjoyed the Lake George parade and Boat Parade for the 4th We most definitely would stay at this property again.
Had a wonderful time with my grandsons at lake george . The cottage met all our needs and was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The boys enjoyed the kayaks and bass fishing was great.
Our family stayed in this wonderful lakefront rental for the week of Aug.15th- Aug.22nd 2018. The house has an enormous wrap around deck, with sliding patio doors from the living room on the top floor. The views of the lake from the deck are amazing. The house sleep 7 easily and comfortably. All the personal touches in the home are great. A pullout sectional in the living room, very comfortable double beds in each of the 2 bedrooms and a twin also with the double bed in one of the bedrooms. I cannot even describe enough how much our family enjoyed the yard, complete with a bonfire pit by the lake, firewood was even provided! Scott let us use the row boat also with the paddle boat. We brought our 2 kayaks along too. The sandy swimming beach area was perfect and plenty of shallow feet for walking in and swimming for little ones. The lake gets gradually deeper at the end of the boat dock, for experienced swimmers. Also a floating dock to enjoy. Plenty of seating and lounge chairs to enjoy too, also a hammock in between the trees and a swing under the deck! The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything for making a great meal and we also used the huge grill on the deck to cook out. It was a fabulous trip and we hope to return very soon!
