Property was clean and comfortable. Easily accessible to Dupont(Hooker Falls/Triple Falls)and Brevard, about a 20 minute drive to either one. We were thankful to have a place we could also bring our dog. Our boys loved exploring the water feature on the property. We wish we would have booked another night!
The house was plenty big enough for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. The kids loved playing in the creek below and exploring around the property! The adults loved sitting on the back porch and listening to the sound of the small waterfall. The location was excellent for visiting waterfalls and swimming holes. We came back each day and cooked dinner (the kitchen was fully stocked with pans and utensils!) and made a fire in the fire pit! We made many great memories for our family at this house. The Owner was a great communicator.
We loved the cozy spacious cabin and how central it is to great hikes. The space was well equipped with everything we needed and the host was excellent. We canât wait to come back!
Happy Acres is a wonderful property with all the amenities you need and is located in the most beautiful setting. It's so peaceful and we enjoyed both porches in the mornings and evenings. The stream with the little waterfall in the "backyard" added just the relaxation we were looking for. Everything about this stay went smooth and we would definitely stay here again, if we come back to this area.
We just made it home from a wonderful stay at happy acres. My family and I loved every detail of the property. Sitting on the porch listening to the stream and waterfall was very relaxing! Already planning to book again.
House is on 8 acres with waterfall. Very beautiful and private
We escape our town which has lots of fireworks
There are a few there but not to the extent where we live
Everything was great! We really appreciated all the kitchen appliances, seasonings, grills, and the fire pit. Listing and features were as described. Great location for hiking trails and waterfalls. We had a wonderful family vacation and will book again!
We are 3 generations from Myrtle Beach, SC and we all live within 3 miles of the Atlantic. We watched weather reports all week about Tropical Storm Debby, and though it came ashore Thursday morning with torrential rains, we left anyway! 7 hours later, we arrived at the most beautiful, serene house in the mountains! Pure paradise for 3 days and we're already planning a longer stay--same location-- next year!
The home was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The property was picturesque. Listening to the waterfall from the back porch was relaxing. Attention has been paid towards the details of comfort in this home from the rocking chairs on the back porch to the fire pit with wood stashed in a dry location. This was a perfect location to feel alone in the woods and also
Be close to town and great restaurants. And there are so many biking and hiking trails near by, along with waterfalls and swimming holes. Our family found it to be a lovely vacation spot! Thanks for helping us build fun memories.
The house was amazing. From the back deck you could see and hear a small waterfall and creek. The kitchen had everything you could want. The cookware and dishes were of the highest quality.
It was very remote but still just a few miles to walking trails and restaurants.
It was very obvious that someone took great care of the property.
Everything was perfect!! Owners were AMAZING! They answered my questions in a timely manner. Property was as described by owners. Town near by to make a last minute stop for groceries and anything else you may need before reaching the property.
Lovely weekend getaway. Our favorite activity was walking around downtown and sitting by the fire pit laughing and enjoying time together.
Great quiet location nestled in the woods. Provided easy access (about 20 minute drive) to DuPont, Brevard, and edge of Pisgah for some hiking and exploring! The house is very well stocked with everything you need and plenty of room for a large group, though still great for me and my dog! Boat provided extra instructions on how to get to the house and tips for exploring the area! It does have a wood fire place, so be prepared for a rustic smell, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Never found the path to the stream, but still nice to listen to from the back porch!
Location, location, location! This could say it all but then Iâd miss telling about all the additional reasons this is paradise. The back porch was our favorite spot to read, listen to the brook. The falling leaves sounded like rain but looked like snow. The air was fresh and the autumn color dazzling. Loved the quiet seclusion but enjoyed the quick drive to Brevard and other special places/things to do. Canât wait to go back in 2024.
My family and I had the best time this weekend. We were tucked in, surrounded by nature, and it was so peaceful. The house was great and well stocked with everything we needed. The details and directions to get to the home were very well detailed, which was super nice. We had no problem finding it. We were also given suggestions for grocery stores, restaurants and things to do. There was plenty of room, inside and out for our dogs to play. We loved it and we look forward to staying here again soon!
The house is beautiful. Everything needed for cooking was in the home which was nice. Beautiful sitting on the porch and watching the kids play and the hummingbirds. Property needs cleaned up inside. The house smells of mold and smoke. We have allergies and had a very difficult time spending time in the house. Several small repairs needed throughout the house as well.
This rental was amazing. The property owner was so nice and accommodating! He such detailed information, including specific driving directions which certainly helped and were needed to get to the house itself. It was clean and VERY well stocked. We were surprised at the amount of things available to us, from shampoo to spices in the kitchen, there was a ton of stuff to help us out. Outside is so nice, got to walk around and explore a bit, LOVED using the fire pit for s'mores. You can hear the creek's little waterfall from the house and it's so peaceful. I would love to see the place in summer!! We are here in January. I know there is more to say, but overall this was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend staying here. :)
I came from Billings, Montana. I visited western North Caroliina for the first time in 2014. Fell in love with the area and bought this beautiful property! Happy to be living down the road from my brother and his wife! After being here for five years, I find there is still so much to see and explore in this part of the state
This is an amazingly beautiful property. The property backs up to the Headwaters State Recreation Area, which will extend hiking /biking opportunities from Table Rock in South Carolina to Gorges State park southwest of Brevard. Enjoy unlimited access to pristine park area previously unavailable for public use.
Total privacy. This is the ideal spot for finding the balance of a great location for multiple activities while enjoying the privacy of being secluded and private in a beautiful setting.
