This is a great retreat house on the beach. Quiet and relaxing, great view with mountains, and bald Eagles minutes from Kenai and great Sockeye fishing. Felt like home away from home
We come every year for fishing and the location cannot be beat! Supplies are basic but the views are phenomenal, the yard is awesome, you can walk right to the sand, hear the waves and have easy access to town. Perfect location to enjoy the ocean. The owners give you privacy but are friendly, responsive and helpful if you need anything. We love this place!
Loved this place. Was perfect for our needs. Location is amazing. Great set up. We are definitely planning another family trip here! Couldnât ask for it to be better.
This place is amazing! Right on the beach and unbelievable views. Big house that is close to town but seems like it is in the middle of nowhere. We saw a moose and its baby 200 yards behind the house.
This was a amazing place! We just loved it, it was a dream come true for my Mom who can't get around very well, and she loved walking to the out door deck to look out at the beautiful beach and ocean!
There was a fire pit out back that was just awesome to make s'mores , they even had some s'more sticks!
If we needed any think they responded right away. We just loved this place and will be back! The house was amazing loved how they had it decorated and very clean!
Just loved it
Thank you
House was very dirty, has black mold and smelled horrible with pet pee.
House needs to be professionally cleaned. Carpets disgusting and house has rancid pet pee odor. Several walls have black mold showing, mop board and walls dirty. Not good
Needs level flooring, needs decent furniture: (bed mattresses are sinking, extremely small tv in a living room a family can NOT sit together in due to lack of furniture & space) this was not Pictured in the listing! stairs scare us because the feet can barely fit on each step, Bath tub unusually small, shower curtain smelled bad, tub could not hold water.
There was stunning sunsets & GORGEOUS views out the windows; & beautiful outdoor areas. We stayed for a long visit. & grass needs to be mowed. Owners were extremely nice.
Overall the stay was very nice especially the location on the beach. there were just a few items that needed attention or to be fixed ie: broken dining room chair, Oven smoked really bad (probably needs a good cleaning)...etc...
The host was very friendly and available to help with any issues that popped up. It was also nice that we were able to bring our two sheltie pups as they are also part of our family. We had a great time walking on the beach and watching the young eagles steal food from the seagulls and looking for shells on the beach. The sunsets over the mountains were spectacular. There was plenty to do around the area and was not a far drive from food or stores. Plenty of fishing in the area if you like to do that sort of thing so it made a nice base camp for day trips like going to Homer. We also enjoyed battling the mosquitoes in the evening as we sat by the fire in the fire ring in the back yard.
I planned this trip for my 50th birthday. We arrived at the house on the evening of my birthday. The beds and two of the rooms did not have clean linens. In one of the rooms there were bodily fluids and pubic hair on the sheets. The bathroom had also not been cleaned and the floor was a covered in dirt and pubic hair. And this meant that instead of celebrating my 50th birthday with my friends and family, they very kindly spent their evening cleaning the house so that we all felt comfortable sleeping that night. The check in process was also very frustrating. I messaged and emailed the owner of the property multiple times that day to check in and get access to the house. I also contacted her regarding the state of the house. We received no contact from her until the next day. We were able to find an open door and get in the house but we did not receive the code for 24 hours or more after our scheduled check-in . The location and grounds of the property are beautiful. We enjoyed the views and wildlife immensely. While we got off to a rocky start the host was more interactive as the week progressed. However, a maintenance man came into the house without any warning. We never heard from her about the visit. Finally, the kitchen was very poorly equipped for our group of five. There were only three coffee cups and very little cooking or eating utensils available. The fridge smelled like someone had stored fish in it.
The location and views are just wonderful! It's a cute little place that is in need of some significant TLC: dirty windows, kitchen drawers and cabinets breaking, living room flooring in poor condition, interior walls and doors seriously in need of paint, poor WIFI, blinds broken, etc. The owners were friendly and helpful, trying to help us with the TV. Still, we enjoyed our stay and loved the access to the beach!
We were disappointed that the toilet seat was about 20 years old, the cable didnât work, the kitchen sponge was horrible and there was a big mouse in the kitchen. The pillows were very old and uncomfortable and a tv in the master bedroom would have been nice. We were locked out the first time we left because the code was changed. That being said, the view was absolutely amazing and the location was fantastic.
We had the most amazing time!! The only thing Iâd recommend is more toiletries and paper towel... otherwise, the hosts were fantastic and so welcoming!! Iâd love to return to thos charming beautiful beach home!!
Great location, but bring your own plate and fork!
The house is in a beautiful location, right on the beach. It is very suitable for 8 people, in terms of sleeping accommodations, however keep in mind thereâs only 1 bathroom. The rooms were decent sized and I found my bed comfortable. The owners who live right next door respected our privacy. A few things that could be improved upon include, having the dishes clean and unloaded from the dishwasher. Having more than 1 bath towel per person and a hand towel and washcloth for each person. Additionally, being we were a family of 8 adults, it wouldâve been nice to have at least 8 large plates and forks. Lastly it wouldâve been nice to have some info about the house and check out process. Most places share what to do with garbage and if youâre expected to strip beds, etc... Thanks for sharing your home. We had a wonderful vacation! With just a few tweaks, Iâd bump this rating up!
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was very peaceful. The owners were on site but I barely noticed them as we never had an encounter. The rooms were spacy and the kitchen well stocked with appliances. I did love that our fur child could spend time indoors with us as animals were not an issue. The deck and stairs were not shoveled and they were covered with snow, there was also lack of toiletries but I believe this is because it had been vacant since the summer season. I also looked at the pictures wrong and thought the rental had an attached game room but that was a separate fee.
I did message the owners while on site about a shovel and using the game room but had no response. I would recommend using this rental in the summer months when the beach is accessible .
Best vacation house for a large group, enjoyed every minute.
July 2018 myself, four sisters, a brother-in-law and a nephew spent ten days in this delightful house. It was in the perfect place, right on the beach of Cook Inlet. Mt. Redoubt was right across the water and made an absolute perfect background. The weather even cooperated. We toured the Kenai peninsula, visited with our brother and all his family. We had the best time. Thank you Jennifer and Jason for allowing us to have such a special vacation.
Only suggestion would be to have a rubber bath mat in the tub for safety.
Relaxing and enjoyable location, right on the water with a delightful deck by the beach to relax and enjoy the ocean. Kids love having stairs down to the sand to play. Saw many eagles. Convenient beach access next door to take the 4-wheelers on the sand too. Hosts are next door, they give you plenty of privacy but they are right there if you need them. Very friendly.
Our family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights and had an amazing experience! The location was incredible and we loved going to the beach to watch all the eagles and gulls feeding on the fish! The view of Mt. Redoubt on our first night was amazing! The home was very comfortable, as were the beds and furniture and we felt like we had enough room to avoid being on top of each other. The kitchen is layed out nicely; however was lacking in decent cookware and the knives were very dull. Also found that it could be a little cleaner - found several pieces of molding fruit in the cupboards - nothing major and the rooms and bathroom was very clean. But overall, we loved it and would definitely consider coming back!
I was born in Soldotna and my husband was born in Nome and we love living here and raising our children. We are both Alaska Native and love to enjoy the land we live on. We hunt, fish and try to spend time outside. We enjoy hosting because we have a lot to offer our guests and they bring much joy to us, as they are always in great moods and it is great to hear.
I love being on the water, listening to the waves come on the beach. The sunsets here are amazing. It is a quick easy walk to the beach and I always love finding agates.
Our property is right on the beach with stairs that take you there. Our house was a homesteader home and the original owner worked for the canneries just down the road.
