Cross-country skiers will find over 220 kilometres of groomed trails in the Upper Engadine and the side valleys. The winter hiking trails and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes shine with light, sunshine and vastness in the midst of an inspiring mountain world. Those who want to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can hike along the 150 km of winter hiking trails in the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever, while those who prefer an overview can enjoy breathtaking views on the panoramic hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl. Families can enjoy the Engadin sunshine on a carriage ride into Val Roseg or Val Fex, or sledge down into the valley on the 4.2 km long, winding Muottas Muragl toboggan run.

Idyllically nestled between Lake Sils and Lake Silvaplana, the village lies at the gateway to the romantic Fex Valley and is the perfect starting point for walks in the vastness of this sun-drenched landscape. In winter, the Fex Valley is best explored by horse-drawn sleigh, while those who want to go higher up will find a variety of hiking and mountain tours on the local mountain, Furtschellas. Sils is also a perfect starting point for winter hikes and cross-country skiing tours through the expanse of frozen lakes, which nestles snugly against the local mountain of Furtschellas. From here, you can quickly get even higher up - to Corvatsch with the highest mountain station in the Eastern Alps (3303 metres above sea level).
