Un château écossais unique. . .

Fenton Tower est un magnifique, fortifiée; Tour du 16ème siècle situé à 18 miles à l'est d'Edimbourg près de la ville côtière de North Berwick. L'emplacement de l'château a été choisie à l'origine au 11ème siècle, car il a donné une vue panoramique dans toutes les directions et a eu de nombreux visiteurs de marque, parmi eux étant roi Jacques VI d'Écosse (fils de Mary Queen of Scots et Lord Darnley) qui y ont trouvé refuge, comme il fui l'armée rebelle à Fife à travers le Firth of Forth.

La Tour a été méticuleusement restauré et ouvert en 2002 pour fournir un hébergement 5 étoiles pour un maximum de 13 invités. Situé au milieu de la campagne vallonnée et entouré par de nombreux parcours de golf les plus célèbres des mondes (Muirfield, Gullane & North Berwick) Fenton Tower est la base idéale pour une magnifique expérience de golf.

L'emplacement de la tour, il est idéal pour toutes sortes de pays, les activités sportives et récréatives. Dispositions pour des parties jusqu'à huit canons pour Grouse, perdrix et faisans de tir, ainsi que la pêche à la mouche sur les rivières Tweed et Tyne peuvent être organisées. We had a fantastic time at Fenton Tower. It was the favorite part of our trip to Scotland. The entire staff were the friendliest and there for us. The breakfast was amazing and very personalized. We felt like royalty here. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. It was fun exploring the area from here or just staying and taking a hike from the castle. Thanks to the wonderful staff we really had an amazing time.

A beautiful and comfortable castle in the gorgeous countryside very near North Berwick Scotland

I highly recommend Fenton Tower- my family and I just loved the accommodations and the surrounding peaceful countryside. The facilities are top notch, the staff great, and the location ideal- we loved exploring North Berwick which is an adorable seaside town about 10 minutes away. Fenton Tower is also quite easily reached from Edinburgh either by car or train (35-40 minutes).

Very cool castle

Wonderful staff and castle. Amazing experience to stay in a castle. There are a lot of stairs, so if you are physically limited this would be a problem. But if you are up to climbing stairs, it's a very unique place to stay.

Wonderful place and immaculate rooms. The evening meal in the tower banquet room on Saturday was superb and Kenny the piper topped it off. Alan was a fantastic host. He and his staff were extremely helpful and attentive.

Luxury Weekend Break

Hired Fenton Tower as the first part of a family holiday to Edinburgh and I can't thank Alan and the team enough for such an enjoyable experience. The ridiculously nice weather helped, but everyone loved the castle and its setting - simply majestic. Sitting around the fire in the evening, drinking and chatting was wonderful. Stunning grounds, supremely well thought out, comfortable rooms. Excellent showers and delicious, plentiful breakfasts all added to a wonderfully memorable weekend.

Celebrations!

Myself, along with my family and friends just returned from an absolute amazing stay at Fenton Tower! I chose Fenton Tower for it's location and as a perfect venue to celebrate Our 25th Wedding Anniversary, my Husband's 50th Birthday and both our Daughters graduations, one from College and the other from High School. 2019 was a year for celebrations and no doubt we chose the perfect venue for our first visit to Scotland. The Tower is magnificent in every way. Each room is unique and beautifully decorated. Every space, although grand, will make you feel warm and comfortable! I personally loved the furnishings! Alan, the manager and his Team were gracious and hospitable. They made us all feel welcome and we felt like Royalty during our stay. Breakfast every morning, prepared by Tony was amazing and delicious no detail was left out. There was such a wide variety of goodies to please everyone, including my daughter who has several dietary restrictions was overjoyed with the foods they provided for her. After returning from breakfast you would notice that the "Fluff Fairies" as I called them would have fluffed every cushion as if no one had ever sat on a sofa or chair! The fireplace would also be cleaned and remade to spark the following evening. Our Bedrooms were comfortable with beds and bathrooms refreshed as well. I cannot say enough about Alan and the Staff! They are all so special and really made us feel comfortable. Alan was most helpful with recommendations of area attractions and quick to arrange reservations and car service for us if needed. We appreciated his knowledge and wit. He was always quick to answer our questions. Our Celebration dinner was Top Notch! Alan had helped me prior to our arrival with recommendations for what wines we might enjoy. I must say that they were absolutely perfect and I so wish I could find these in the States! Karen had made a spectacular flower arrangement for the center of our table. Not knowing, she chose the same flowers and color palate that we had on our wedding day, this made the evening even more memorable! It's only been a few days since our departure and I'm already missing Fenton Tower and the People who made us feel most welcome! We all decided on our way to the airport that we will definitely return someday!

Recently back from an entire week at Fenton Tower. The Castle is magnificent. We had ten people and didn't even use one of the bedrooms. The staff was so kind, and the breakfasts were astonishingly good. The tower is a five minute drive from North Berwick, which has many nice restaurants and shops, and hourly train service to Edinburgh Waverly station. The train to Edinburgh is about 30 minutes, but it flies by. So you can very easily spend a half day in Edinburgh, and the rest of the day at the tower, or vice versa. We had a few catered dinners at the Tower which were off the charts. We also did archery one day, with participants aged 8 to almost 80 and everyone had a great time. We've been around, and rented some great places, but Fenton Tower is one of the very best. Honestly can't say enough good things. At the risk of soundly cheesy, the place is magical. There's also tons of golf courses around, it that's your scene.

Excellent!

Our two week visit in July couldn't have been better. We chose the self catered option which worked very well for our group of 11 people including kids. North Berwick is an awesome town with several pubs, shops and an excellent Tesco grocery store. We did a bird exploration boat tour, rode horses on the beach, a castle tour, the aviation museum, hiked Berwick Law, watched a local bagpipe parade (Wednesday evenings -highly recommend), clay pigeon shooting right in the "backyard" of Fenton Tower and drove to St. Andrews - although the roads closer to St Andrews got a little twisty for back seat passengers. Suggest a more northern route before heading due east into St Andrews. Manager Alan Thompson could not have been more helpful not only for setting up our visit, but also during our visit suggesting restaurants, pubs and things to do. The castle itself is extremely comfortable with excellent water pressure and very comfortable beds. There were sheep in the nearby pasture and the views were spectacular. Plenty of opportunities for short hikes around the fields immediately surrounding the castle and our 6-13 year old kids could roam the property unsupervised. We planned on doing a short day visit to Edinburgh, but am slightly embarrassed to say we never made it since we enjoyed the country atmosphere so much at Fenton Tower and North Berwick had everything we needed. Finally, we did our "big" family dinner (celebrating parents 50th wedding anniversary) at the Castle and was truly one of the best experiences of our lives! Not only was the meal incredibly delicious but the presentation/service at the table was superb. Only words of caution are there are a lot of steep stairs to climb getting to the bedrooms which could cause issues for some. However, there is a bedroom available near the dining room if needed. I highly recommend Fenton Tower for an unforgettable holiday!

A week at Fenton Castle

The week stay at Fenton Castle was phenomenal. I've stayed at hundreds of places all over the world, and the staff, the food, the accommodations were the absolute BEST I have ever seen. Every single detail was thought of to make our stay remarkable. The kitchen staff made meals that were cooked perfectly. Alan, the property manager, couldn't have done more to help us at the castle and travelling about. The rooms were clean, very comfortable and outright spectacular. If you're ever visiting Scotland, you must stay there and feel like a king!
