Shoddy repairs (floor over top a rotten floor), black mold all over bathroom tile, dog hair from dirty mopping or previous occupants all over bathroom floor and main room⊠poor responses from VRBO when contacted just âhey weâll note thatâ ?! Gas Fireplace didnât work and heating was by a space heater.bathroom door held open by.a coathanger⊠definitely did not feel the value or welcome
Wasnât here for long, maybe 13 hours on our road trip, most of which asleep. Nice toiletries, plenty of towels and great location but property could do with an update, particularly the flooring and more than 1 wine glass.
Location was amazing! Just a short walk away from the beach! Great distance from downtown Cannon Beach! It was dog friendly which was a plus for us. For the price the place was great. Check in and check out was easy. The only downfall was one of our lights did not work in the living room area. Other than that would come again.
We have got a bed bug infestation from staying at this property. Absolutely unacceptable. None of the linens were washed. I reported this as we checked in. Furious.
Affordable and centrally located. A little ragged around the edges but good if you just want a place to sleep. Listing online showed furniture that was not thereâŠ. Only a daybed to sit on which was not the most comfortable. Vacasa is always great to work with!
Cute little place a couple of blocks from the beach. Overall a decent place to spent a couple of nights. One light fixture burned out and some of the plugs in the kitchen didnât work, could use a better cleaning between renters, was dusty . Also could use a rug or mat at the door and a sponge mop to clean floor. Gutters at the front door need cleaning as we stayed during a rain storm and porch was flooded. We will rent again in the future, overall a nice little place by the beach
The room was dirty when we checked in. Dirty linens and towels on the floor, dirty bathroom, food left in the fridge. Turns out the toilet was broken. Wasted about an hour trying to contact the management. Ended up canceling and booking alternatives accommodations.
The heater in #5 was not working, had to ask for help from the cleaning guy. I wish the door code was less than 10 digits, it was a slight pain to open up my phone to get the code from a email.
We loved this perfectly located spot in Cannon Beach! Hardly needed to use the car we could walk everywhere! It was just my teenage son and I and we enjoyed having separate spots to sleep! Everything you need in the kitchen to cook meals too! We loved walking into town, to Haystack Rock and we were only a few minutes from coffee and great dining ! Locking the door and unlocking a little tricky - was glad to have a teen with me. I would bring your own hair-dryer and a steamer or iron as their dryer is weak and there is no closet or much space to hang your clothes and no iron or steamer. ;) Would absolutely stay here again!
All the things you would need were there. Lovely linens and plenty of them. We only stayed for 2 nights but if you stayed longer, a hamper would be a good addition. All the working windows were great to have. In the back, the sparrows were singing away and it was nice to hear in the morning and evening.
In terms of improvements, there could be a âremove shoesâ rack supplied because it was hard to manage that as you walk in the front door. Also maybe supply visitors with a couple rags to use for clean up or wiping off the outdoor chairs to use. Lastly, the carpet should really be replaced with an updated vinyl flooring and area rug for those visitors who have pet accidents. It smelled and it was hard for us to sit in the living room enjoyably.
My wife and I have unintentionally traveled to this same Cannon Beach cottage every year for the past 4 years around the October timeframe each year. There's a certain charm about Cottage #5 with the way the inside is painted and the layout of the main bed with the yellow-painted ceilings. This year, there were quite a few things amiss with the cottage.
Again, I come here year over year, so I am quite familiar with the cottage and changes that it may have endured.
The most obvious one are the stains on the carpet. There are really bad stains on the carpet all over the inside once you step off of the pergo-like entryway. They are round spots, as if a pet had relieved itself all over the cottage. My wife and I usually bring our dogs to the cottage and are familiar with what pet stains look like. No, they don't relieve themselves in the cottage. There is a massive stain by the table on the side of the carpet leading to the kitchen that used to not be there last year. Between the bedroom and the living area, there is a rug draped over an area that appears to have had the carpet completely chewed through by an overly aggressive wildebeest. I would have expected the carpet to be replaced, but the rug was a quick fix. The towels in the bathroom were already wet when I first arrived -- I can understand possible dampness from the environment, but these towels appeared to have been used and/or not changed out even if they were folded. The bed sheets were clean however and dry and remained comfortable to sleep in and laze in.
The wall power plug by the table next to the kitchen seems to have stopped working several years ago... that should probably be fixed.
The space was clean and the beds acceptable. The outdoor common space could use some attention: dead grass, no flowers, broken Adirondack chairs, a small fire pit would make a nice addition.
