We stayed at this beautiful farmhouse in Oregon, Wisconsin, during an incredibly important time for our family. My daughter was having an autotransplant at UW Health in Madison, and when our stay was extended, we needed a safe, clean, peaceful place where she could recover and our family could be together. We could not have found a more perfect home.Surrounded by farmland, mature trees and wildlife, the farmhouse sits at the end of a private road and is incredibly peaceful. The covered porch became our favorite place for morning coffee, family dinners and simply listening to nature. We saw deer, turkeys, birds and even a beautiful green frog! This home has heart and soul. Casey and Sara grew up here, and it feels like a loved family home, not a rental. They live nearby and were exceptional hosts—kind, responsive and genuinely wanting us to have everything we needed. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked; it felt like walking into your mother’s kitchen, with everything needed to cook real family meals. The open living area was perfect for gathering. And then there’s Vinny, the sweetest family cat who lives in barn, who often joined me for coffee on the porch! One morning I thought, “I would come back here from California just to decompress.” If you love nature, peace and a place to rejuvenate and fill your cup, this farmhouse is truly special. We will always be grateful it was our home away from home during such an important time in our lives.
