This charming 4-bedroom country home is perfect for your stay in southern Ohio. Each room features a comfortable queen bed, mini-fridge, AC, and desk. The primary bedroom has its own bathroom while the other 3 rooms share a full bath.

The kitchen is equipped with all the tools, dishes, and cookware needed to create full meals. This area is one open space that includes a bar, dining room with tables, a seating area and a wall of games and children's toys.

The porch overlooks a gently-sloping yard bordered by hardwood forest. A nearby brick courtyard is decorated with flowers, benches and a large, spreading oak. On the porch is a full fridge, overhead fan, remote-controlled lighting, a propane and charcoal grill and grilling tools.

Lots of creatures live and visit this lush place. A variety of birds (including hummingbirds) are attracted to the porch feeders. Deer, fox, rabbits and other woodland creatures pass through occasionally. Two resident cats roam the yard.

Since this dark sky region is far from industry and largely unlit, look up to see a sky full of bright stars on any clear night.

Though this listing is new, I have been a Vrbo Premier Host before. We now live in a cottage on the property across the courtyard. This offers the best of both worlds for a stay in a remote place: guests enjoy the privacy and peace of a secluded place but can call on me if needed to lend assistance.

Chicory Inn is located on a ridgetop in the rolling hills of the Appalachian Mountains between Athens (home of Ohio University) and Pomeroy. It is 20 minutes from the Ohio River and West Virginia. The Hocking Hills region is an hour away.

Well-behaved pets and children are welcome. Pets must be leashed when outdoors for their safety and the safety of other animals.
