Tucked into the piney quiet of Point Washington, Central Pines is a single-story retreat built for the kind of trip where the days stretch long and nobody's in a rush. The layout opens up the moment you walk in — a bright great room flows into the dining space and kitchen, so whoever's flipping pancakes can still be part of the morning conversation. Three bedrooms sleep eight comfortably, with a king suite tucked away for grown-ups and a bunk room that'll have the kids calling dibs before the bags hit the floor.
The kitchen is fully stocked for real cooking — not just reheating takeout — with an island that doubles as a prep station and a casual perch for coffee. The dining table seats six, and when the weather's good (which, around here, is most of the time), the covered back patio takes over as the real gathering spot. There's a hot tub out back for unwinding after long beach days, a gas grill for casual cookouts, and a fenced backyard that gives kids and dogs room to roam under the pines. A washer and dryer tucked near the mudroom means you can pack lighter, and the set of beach chairs and umbrellas waiting by the door means you can head straight to the sand without a stop at the store.
Location-wise, you're sitting in one of 30A's best-kept open secrets. Point Washington is the wooded, low-key counterpart to the polished beach towns just south — close enough for a quick drive to the shore, far enough to actually hear the cicadas at night. Eden Gardens State Park is just up the road, with its camellia-lined lawns and the historic Wesley House (pack a picnic — the moss-draped oaks along the bay are worth the stop). Point Washington State Forest offers miles of trails right out your door for morning walks or bike rides. And when the beach calls, the sugar-white sand of Seagrove and Seaside is a short drive south, with Grayton Beach State Park and the rest of 30A's lineup — bakeries, boutiques, the Saturday farmers market — all within easy reach. Grayton Beer Company and the Hub's food trucks are close by too, for nights when you'd rather let someone else handle dinner.
Guests can also take advantage of nearby trolley access, located about 5 minutes from the home. Running every 10 minutes and stopping near the beach showers, it offers an easy, convenient way to get to the sand without worrying about parking.
