Having grown up in the Shawnee area, this location has always been one of our favorites. My husband and I have spent countless summer days at Shawnee Mission Parkâfrom renting kayaks on the lake to visiting the dog park and, of course, enjoying some of Kansas Cityâs best BBQ nearby.
The surrounding trails are also a standout feature of the area. Theyâre well-maintained, scenic, and perfect for walking, running, or bikingâweâve personally spent many miles training for a half marathon on these paths.
Itâs a great mix of outdoor recreation, local flavor, and convenience, all just minutes from the home.

This setup comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests.
We will remain nearby (approximately 15 minutes away) and are readily available if you need anything during your stay. If youâre traveling with children, weâre happy to provide highchairs or other family-friendly items upon request.
The backyard is fully enclosed with a solid fence, offering a safe and secure space for your dog to stretch their legs and enjoy the outdoors.
Weâve put a lot of care into preparing this home and hope you have a comfortable, relaxing, and memorable stay.
