Before setting my pricing and pool policy, I did extensive research and even conducted a small focus group. The overwhelming consensus was that guests preferred the lowest possible nightly rates over paying higher rates to include a heated pool. During Cape Cod's warmest months—from late June through the end of August—the pool naturally stays between 82°F and 84°F, which many guests find comfortable for swimming. Keeping the pool unheated during this period allows me to offer one of the most affordable nightly rates for a home with a private in-ground pool. Your feedback made me realize the listing could be clearer. As a result, I removed the "heated pool" designation and updated the description to explain that a heated pool is available by request for guests who prefer a warmer temperature. My goal is to set clear expectations so guests know exactly what to expect before booking. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. It has helped make the listing clearer for future guests. We're so glad you enjoyed the home's recent renovations, peaceful setting, backyard, pool, gazebo, and the well-stocked amenities. It means a great deal to know your family—and your dog—had such a wonderful stay. We also appreciate you sharing your concerns. Regarding the outdoor lighting, we currently have two exterior lights on the home, a Ring spotlight camera facing the pool area, solar sparkling lights along the fence, and a lighted gazebo. We have also recently added additional solar panel lights around the pool to further enhance the evening ambiance and visibility. The third bedroom closet was intentionally converted into a game and activity closet for our guests to enjoy during their stay. The home is equipped with central air conditioning designed to comfortably cool the entire single-level home. However, we understand your concern, and to ensure every guest is as comfortable as possible, we have scheduled the installation of a ductless mini-split air conditioning system in that bedroom on August 17, 2026. Regarding the pool heat, we understand this was disappointing. Because heating the pool requires a significant amount of energy, it is offered as an optional add-on for guests who would like to use it during their stay.
