The Space:
This is an Executive private suite (basement) in a townhouse built in 2014. The building is located on a beautiful street full of trees and green views. Since the house was built few years ago, you will have all the amenities expected in a new building. The house's theme is nature, so you will find plants around the house; your suite will have the name of an animal, and you will find some fancy wallpapers around. We are very friendly, and we promote friendliness and respect among all our guests.
You will use the main door of the house to come in (we use same entrance to access the house, so you may see someone around in the house). If you drive, you can park on the street (please, send us your plate number and province in advance if you require parking).
In the Raccoon private unit, you will have a bedroom with a Full bed size, with a very comfortable mattress, a private desk in case you need to work, and a huge wardrobe to place your belongings. In the unit you will have a private washroom with shower, and an spacious living room with a sofa bed that can convert into a king size bed (please, double check the number of guests in your booking). You will also have a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, and a free coffee station.
In addition to all of this, you will also have options to access to our shared fully equipped kitchen in the main floor (shared space), in case you need to cook something. You will also have access to our shared living room. All the shared spaces are always kept clean, so everybody in the house is encourage to clean after themselves. You will have a great and different experience here!
Guest Access:
In addition to the ‘Raccoon’ guest suite in basement, you will be able/optional to access all the other open shared spaces on the main floor (restricted areas will be signaled with a board).
Indoor shared spaces:
- Living room. Spacious light room, ideal to read and hangout on the couch. It has a table to enjoy a coffee or tea while reading or relaxing.
- Fully equipped kitchen. You will find cupboards and sections in the fridge labeled "Help yourself", where you can take free food for breakfast, and drinks from the coffee station. You will find all the cutlery and dishes needed to cook, should you wish too. Cupboards and fridge sections are labeled with a predefined space for each bedroom.
- Dining room. Ideal to have bigger meals. There is a table to have meals, or to use as a work station, should you want to use this space instead of your guest suite.
- Laundry room (2nd floor). You will find the washer and dryer here, and all the soaps and things that you may need to do the laundry.
- Washrooms: fully equipped half washroom on the main floor.
The Neighborhood:
Sunalta is a very accessible and peaceful neighborhood in Calgary. Despite being close to the vibrant 17th Avenue, it is a quiet community near downtown. It is a picturesque old neighborhood, with many old houses with architecture that comes from the nineteenth century. There are many parks around and green areas, so you will love talking a walk around the neighborhood!
Getting Around:
First things first... Are you hungry? You will be able to find different types of food on the 14th Street, just one block away.
Now, if you want to move to everywhere in Calgary using public transportation, you can jump into the C-train, just three blocks away from the house! To get to the C-train, just walk to your right after coming out of the house, and then turn right in the first intersection. Keep walking three blocks and you will see the big Sunalta C-train station!
Are you bringing your car? We are allowed to park outside the house. If there is not a good space for your car, you can park on the 16th street, where there is always an available spot. You won't have to pay anything for parking but please inform us your plate number so we can register you in and this is a totally safe neighborhood!
Other Things to Note:
Respect and friendliness to all other guests is expected and encouraged.
Please, take your shoes off when coming into the house. Use the shoe tray assigned to your bedroom in our sunroom.
Use the spaces in the kitchen assigned to your bedroom and don't forget to clean after yourself!
Interaction with Guests:
We are very friendly and we are always working together to ensure that you are always comfortable. You can always say Hi and ask any questions if you see us around!
You will be able to contact us at anytime during your stay through the Airbnb app as well, which we check constantly.
