Villa Los Laureles, Private Pool • Trails • Ocean View

This modern and secluded jungle paradise is surrounded by 40 acres of lush tropical forest with magnificent mangrove and ocean views, less than one kilometer away from one of the most stunning beaches in Costa Rica! The villa has a private pool, BBQ, and a fully equipped 2-bedroom guest house. The property is located 2 hours from San Jose's Juan Santa Maria International Airport (SJO), close to 3 National Parks: Manuel Antonio, Carrara, and Cangreja, with several restaurants and a market nearby.

This architectural gem has a fully equipped kitchen, living, and dining room. There are three bedrooms in the main house, including 1 king-size bed and 2 queen-size beds, each with its own bathroom. The guest house also has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, living room, and 2 bedrooms, including 1 king-size bed and 1 queen with two full baths. There is a private deck off both master bedrooms in the main and guest houses.

The property is a wildlife sanctuary teeming with a wide variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. There are several different species of toucans, 2 different species of monkeys and sloths, macaws, white-tailed deer, and unique frogs like the hourglass and red-eyed tree frog! The 2.5 acre lake is home to turtles, basilisk lizards, tiger-throated herons, and an abundance of other bird species. If you are drawn to Costa Rica by its wildlife, this is the place to see it!

Guests have private access to the entire home. To ensure guests' safety, we DO NOT allow outside vendors including Uber's, Taxis, massage therapists, and other service providers without prior approval.

We live on the adjacent 40-acre property and are happy to be of service in any way we can. My husband is an avid surfer and can provide surf lessons, and we both enjoy giving tours of the property, as well as our small organic farm. We can arrange babysitting, chef, cleaning, and transportation services, and tours such as horseback riding, visits to the nearby national parks, and hikes to the most amazing waterfalls!

Playa Bejuco is home to one of the most amazing beaches in Costa Rica! It is the perfect beach for surfing, horseback riding, or simply enjoying one of the most awe-inspiring sunsets you've ever seen! There are restaurants and a market in the Town Center just 1 mile from the property and many more in Jaco and Manuel Antonio. We are always happy to recommend our favorites!

The property is centrally located approx. 2 hours from Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, just 25 minutes south of Jaco and 35 minutes north of Manuel Antonio National Park. There are restaurants and a market within a mile from the property but there are no sidewalks or walking paths to the shopping center or beach. We highly recommend renting a car directly at the airport with a hotspot if you don't have an international data plan. The best way to navigate is via GPS or the app Waze. If you are arriving late and don't feel comfortable driving at night, please let me know and I can reserve private transportation from the airport for $160 each way. There are car rental agencies here at the beach. For your safety, we DO NOT allow Ubers, Taxis, or other outside vendors onto the property without prior approval.

-Please note that there is an additional charge of $50 per night after 6 guests to include use of the guest house. If you are less than 6 guests and would still like the guest house, there will be an additional charge of $50/night.

-The property is located 1 mile from the beach. It is not advisable to walk since there is a mangrove between the property and the beach. It's best to drive 2 mins and park right on the beach.

-Since we do not have an exact address it would be helpful if you could download Whats app so that we can send our exact location. Please also print the written directions included here on Airbnb in case you don't have phone service.

-Felipe is our caretaker and lives in a small house down the hill from the Villa. There is a bamboo wall and other landscaping so you will most likely not see the home, but he is there when needed and can provide cleaning and laundry services upon request. He has been with us for over 20 years and is very trustworthy and helpful. Please note that he has two small dogs in his fenced-in property.

-We can recommend private transportation to and from the airport if you aren’t comfortable driving from the airport, but we highly recommend renting a car during your stay since the property isn’t walking distance to restaurants and activities and we DO NOT allow outside vendors, including taxis and Ubers, on the property without prior approval.
