Authentic Marrakech Riad in the Heart of the Medina

Riad 1810 is a private riad tucked inside Sidi Ben Slimane, restored with care and deep respect for Moroccan heritage. We approached it as both a home and a design project - honoring traditional Moroccan architecture while refining it with a clean, modern eye.

The tadelakt walls, the arches, the black iron details, the courtyard proportions, everything was considered. We were fascinated by the craft behind it: tadelakt hand-polished with stone until it feels silky, zellige preserved piece by piece, ironwork shaped by hand, archways built with precision. Nothing is decorative for show. It reflects real Moroccan mastery, and we’re proud of that.

The interiors bring together Moroccan and artisanal African pieces with subtle mid-century influences. Earthy tones, natural materials, sculptural forms. The feeling is modern but warm. Minimal, but not cold.

Art and culture are part of daily life here. The riad sits in one of the most authentic neighborhoods of the Medina - artisans working, the call to prayer, small shops, neighbors passing. Inside, it’s calm and private. Outside, it’s alive.

On the ground floor, the courtyard and plunge pool are the heart of the home. The living room and dining room open onto the patio. There’s also a cheminée in the salon, which makes the evenings especially beautiful during cooler months.

There are four bedrooms, each simple and peaceful, all with their own en-suite bathroom.

Above, the roof terrace and upper roof offer full 360° views over many iconic sites including the Koutoubia and, on clear days, the Atlas Mountains. The terrace also includes an outdoor kitchen. Sunrise and sunset up there feel very special.

Riad 1810 reflects Moroccan culture proudly, while carrying a quiet thread of our own roots - Moroccan and Jamaican - in the warmth and spirit of the house.

Riad 1810 is located in Sidi Ben Slimane, a calm and authentic neighborhood in the Medina surrounded by beautiful riads and local landmarks. We are close to Dar Zellig restaurant and Riad Dyor, making the riad easy to find while still feeling tucked away from the busy streets.

Walking landmarks include : Souks (7 minutes), Dar El Bacha and Bacha Coffee (10 minutes), El Fenn (approximately 15 minutes), Le Jardin Secret area (12 minutes), Ben Youssef Madrassa (15 minutes) Jemaa El-Fna (about 18–20 minutes), Majorelle Garden ( 25–30 minutes)
