We were awoken at 3:00 A.M by a terrible gas smell called the emergency number listed in the cabin and let me tell I have no clue as to why that number is listed as it was no help it is just a call center. Was told they would call right back after 20 minutes standing up the road in our PJ's at 3a.m. I called 911and had the Fire Department come out. They where amazing told us we could not stay in the house so I called emergency number back to see if we could be put into another house. Again absolutely no help for an emergency number lady stated she couldn't do anything I explained for the tenth time that we could not stay at the house Fire chief also explained this to the lady. Still made no difference was told we would have to go drive around until Carriage House opened to help she stated they opened at 7 am we drove around in our pjs until 7 am and guess what carriage House opens at 8 not 7am so frustrating as we had an 8 month baby with us. When the carriage house that lady was so nice she did find us another property to stay in that was nice and no gas smell.... The emergency number is a total joke and i'm pretty sure they people at the emergency number are not even in the same state. If there is a problem with a property they should not be telling people to just drive around at 3 in the morning..... also they need to not tell people that the carriage house opens at 7 when it opens at 8....

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the disruption and stress your family experienced during your stay, especially in the middle of the night with an infant present. Guest safety is always our highest priority, and we appreciate that you immediately contacted emergency services when you detected what appeared to be a gas odor. We are grateful that the local Fire Department responded quickly and conducted a thorough inspection. According to the Fire Department's findings, there was no gas leak present. The Fire Department determined that the odor was coming from a skunk underneath the house, which had created a smell similar to natural gas. Following their inspection, the Fire Department cleared the home as safe to occupy and explained that the odor was caused by a skunk and not by a gas leak. While skunk odor can certainly be unpleasant and alarming, it does not present the same safety risks as a gas leak. However, we understood that the odor made the cabin uncomfortable for your family. For that reason, once alternate accommodations became available, we relocated your family to another cabin with comparable accommodations and amenities so that your stay could continue more comfortably. We would also like to clarify several points regarding our response. As soon as we were notified of the situation, our after-hours team began working to assist. In addition to coordinating internally, our Vice President personally responded to the cabin during the overnight hours to assess the situation and help ensure appropriate action was taken. We also made multiple attempts to contact you throughout the process. Once the Thousand Hills Clubhouse opened that morning, our local team immediately worked to secure alternate accommodations for your family. We appreciate your recognition of the efforts made by our local office staff, who worked quickly to find a solution and facilitate the move. We understand your frustration regarding the information you received from the after-hours call center and the confusion surrounding office opening times. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate departments for review, as we agree that guests facing an emergency situation should receive clear and accurate information. While we regret the circumstances and inconvenience caused by this situation, we are glad we were able to provide alternative accommodations and that your stay could continue in a safe and comfortable environment. Thank you again for your feedback, as it helps us identify opportunities to improve our emergency response procedures and guest communication.
