When I went to check in, the desk clerk told me to wait for him to open the door, as he had to hold it open for me and could not allow the door to open more than halfway. He told me that the door was broken. As soon as I opened my hotel room and turned on the light, I could see bugs scattering away. The room was completely infested with cockroaches. I immediately went back to the main desk. The clerk asked me if I took pictures. So I went back to the room. The cockroaches were on the walls, in the drawers in the furniture, on the bathroom towel, and when I pulled back the cover on the bed, they were even crawling around in the bed itself. To make matters worse, there were bed bug stains and some other unidentified stains on the mattress and on the nightstand. The condition of the room was beyond horrific. Nobody should be expected to sleep in these conditions. You know these bugs will not be staying behind when you leave!! But of course, the desk clerk told me he could not give me a refund. And neither would the host (a company called OYO Rooms). Even after I sent OYO Rooms evidence of the infestations in the room, they confirmed receiving the pics/vids but then I never heard from them again. I will never stay at another room hosted by this company again. On the other hand, VRBO support was absolutely wonderful and made sure I at least got my room’s balance toward a new hotel stay for the night. 0 stars for this location and this host, but 5 stars for VRBO.
