The unit was very nice. Great views. We liked that parking was included. Also a plus that we had the opportunity to do laundry. The king size bed was comfortable.
In the middle of Waikīkī but away from the big crowds
The location was great. About two blocks inshore from Royal Hawaiian so you are right in the middle going from east to west but being off the ocean keeps the crowds down and the price reasonable. Definitely would come back.
Property was neat and tidy, well located and the process to get keys, wifi log in was all well documented and easy to do. Information on the property was was provided in a timely way, which made the whole stay stress free.
What I love about the property it was in the center of everything food beaches breakfast restaurants shopping center small and tidy very cozy felt like home. Iâd do business again if I go back to Hawaii
This was the perfect location for us - a few blocks away from the tourist activity on the beachfront yet very walkable. Included, secure parking was fantastic. Corner unit let's you see both the sunrise and the sunset. There are ocean breezes all the time that negate the need for AC. Absolutely lovely!
This property was perfect for me and my husband, very cozy, clean, and close to everything, you can walk to the beach, stores, restaurants and the bus runs right in front of the hotel to the mall, we will stay again, full kitchen, pool, pool tables, washers and dryers were all great extras.
We were there 2 weeks great location. The condo is well equipped had everything we needed. Had a small issue at first but the owners were very responsive and took care of it in a timely manner. In fact I texted them at would have been 3am for them expecting them get back to me in the morning and they responded right then. Wow! We had a wonderful stay, the condo became home for us. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Overall, the home was exactly as described. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need, offering free internet, Netflix, and especially your own parking space was terrific. Attempting to do laundry was painful because the machines use coins and the security office only offers $10 rolls, and you have to fight with the maid service because they use the same facility. I would personally add a 2" foam cushion to the bed because the current mattress is incredibly hard. The location to the beach and all the restaurants is great but you hear the traffic noise day and night. I would still recommend this home and plan to return.
It is a great location and a nice condo in a secure building. Only reasons that I would give it a 4.5 rating instead of 5 is the pillows were lumpy ,need to be replaced. The couch cushions were worn down so it was hard and uncomfortable and the shower handle was very hard to pull out that I was afraid that it going to break. Otherwise a great unit with amazing views of Waikiki and sunsets. Would definitely stay here again
We had a really great time. Unit is spacious and clean. Per and Melody were very easy to get a hold of. The down fall was the fridge. The owners did everything they could. Not there fault. Out of their control. I would recommend this until. A true 1 bedroom, bed is comfy. Has a great view we watched the sunset from the balcony. Street noise can be heard, but your in the middle of Waikiki. Aloha
We flew over from Kaua'i for the weekend to catch a show at Blaisdell Center. Almost everything about this condo is good and we enjoyed staying here. Security in the building is very good and lobby staff are very helpful. All the appliances we used in the condo were clean and in good working order. Furniture was serviceable and quite comfortable. The view from the balcony is a big plus. The only thing we thought needed improvement was the grout and caulking around the bathtub, which had obvious mold. The shower curtain liner also had a few spots of mold. Living in Hawai'i, we know about mold in the bathroom. If this were my bathroom I would redo the bath recess in large size tile and seal the grout regularly. Aloha
Condo was well positioned in Waikiki, with access to many shops & dining. Great views from balcony. Very walkable part of town. We had a rental car so having a parking spot was a huge advantage. The spot was spacious and easy to get to. The communication from the owners with instructions on unit access was well documented and received in a timely manner.
The unit itself was clean with plenty of space for 2 of us. The carpet seemed new and plush. The bed, comfy but a little too springy. The air conditioning units worked very well, we've had problems in the past in Maui during a hot spell so that was very important to us. There are kitchen items but if you plan on cooking, you'll need to assess the seasonings available. We had to buy olive oil for cooking as well as collecting salt & soy sauce packets for seasoning. Not a big deal but nice to know beforehand.
When I initially read the parking instructions, it seemed that the parking garage was completely separate from the condo building, thus having to borrow luggage cart from security to bring in luggage and then park car. However, note that the parking garage is actually attached and the parking spot is located on the 4th floor of garage, you would then take the elevator down to the 1st floor to get to the condo by walking through the lobby to the elevator bank that takes you to the condo unit. We could've just parked and then taken our luggage in after parking in the garage.
Overall we had a great stay and would book again.
I enjoyed my 10 day stay in this condo. It was a large one bedroom high-rise with comfortable king sized bed, lots of pillows, clean sheets, air conditioning, assigned parking, full kitchen with good quality dishes and cooking items. There was a toaster, microwave, dishwasher and flat screen TV in the living room and bedroom. The bathroom had a tub with shower head. Overall, in this price range I could not have asked for more. It was an easy walk to the beach and all restaurants. The carpeting smelled like bleach when I first walked in probably because it was recently cleaned but when I turned on the air the smell disappeared. The wifi was good enough to allow me to stream netflix on my laptop when one person was logged on. I wish I could have rented a visitor parking spot; street parking was brutal for visitors while the condo parking was over half empty! I also wish the instructions on how to use the key and generally navigate the parking were more clear but I learned after the first day! I never contacted the owner but he supplied more than enough contact information if I chose to ask. There was also a clean swimming pool and ping-pong table; the owner supplied paddles and balls. Nice touch! The view from the balcony included partial ocean and a great view of Friday night fire works over the water. The unit was overcrowded with furniture but for a large group it would be appreciated; for me, I moved the extras out of the way. I would definitely recommend this rental.
A few days after arrival, water started leaking into our unit from the apartment above with an overflowing sink. To mitigate the damage to our unit the owner hired a remediation company that installed three large industrial fans and an extractor/dehumidifier that ran for four days straight 24 hours a day. Sounded like a 747 Jet was about to take off from inside our unit, but never left the ground. FOR FOUR DAYS AND NIGHTS. Once those were gone, the fridge/freezer decided to stop working. After several days of the owner trying to get a replacement fridge with no help from his supplier, they opted to put in a 1 cu ft counter top cooler (no freezer). No compensation was offered except the hope that they could get something from the other guy's insurance company.
Since these were all-consuming negatives, it is difficult to be positive about the very responsive landlords or the very enjoyable trips to waterfalls, theaters, dinners (expensive), and Hawaiian luaus. The bus pass that we each bought for $20 Senior Citizen rate) got us unlimited rides all over for the entire month. It was fun exploring. That was the best part of the vacation
The trade winds were blowing so strong that it was difficult to enjoy the pool, which was heated only occasionally.and cold most of the time. On the 21st floor, we were surprised at the loud level of street noises that could be heard -- sirens, motorcycles, bar music, even with the lanai door a windows closed. We were about a ten minute walk to the beach, and spent many hours there and enjoyed floating, watching surfers and swimmers, and the sunsets
I'm ALMOST STARTING TO FEEL POSITIVE AGAIN.
From the lanai, we had a great view of the ocean and Diamond Head.
The room had a homey atmosphere and it felt like I was at a relative's vacation home.
The owner's support was also very generous and courteous and made us feel at ease.
The corner condo being a true one bedroom was perfect for us and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The kitchen was well equipped (you will to purchase more paper towels if staying longer than a few days). The king size bed and pillows are very comfortable.
Anywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance which was nice, but the parking spot that came with the condo was a HUGE bonus.
You may have read that the slatted windows let in the street noise and music playing below, but the music ends at 10:00 pm so it really isn't a big deal.
Communication with Per and Melody was easy. They were so kind and quick to answer any questions.
Clean, Good Location - But ... Noisy, Noisy, Noisy.
If only all the noise that filters in from 21 stories below and the club that plays live music 1 block away wasn't so loud and disturbing, the condo would be nice and the small things wouldn't have seemed so disappointing.
Every resident and renter we asked had the same complaint, the building with its slat windows just doesn't stop conversations on the street, cars, buses, motorcycles and music from echoing and coming in. Kuhio Ave is a main street in Waikiki - so you expect traffic but this was like being street side 21 stories up. Ugh!.
On the positive side, the building is convenient to most everything. Parking is a real benefit. Laundry was easy - do laundry first thing in AM or later PM otherwise cleaning crews have all the machines in use.
The kitchen is well stocked - we cook most our meals.
Nice views from balcony - but watch out for the crews on scaffolding who are working on the building - I suspect they will be there for several more weeks / months.
Nit picks:
- We had to buy paper towels and a new kitchen dish sponge because these were not replaced and the sponge was awful and moldy.
- If there are more than 2 in your party, you need to ask for more towels.
- No replacement TP roll - we had to buy our own and only had 1/2 roll when we checked in.
- Bed is good, pillows are on their last leg.
- Blinds are a bit funky but workable
- AC seems good and TV is great with free Netflix
It was a very nice place and wonderfully located. Some frustrating issues which should be changed for the cost of our stay. Coffee maker doesnât work, no dish cloth or tea towel for washing up, we had to purchase toilet paper (a reimbursement for the cost was offered).
