Lake Effect Club | The Hoan
The Hoan at Lake Effect Club — Golden 1BR Upstairs Flat
Location: Milwaukee’s Lower East Side (steps from Brady Street)
🏛️ About Lake Effect Club
Lake Effect Club is Milwaukee’s most creative stay — a 150-year-old building reimagined with bold color, designer vintage finds, and new comforts. ✦ Set in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, it’s the short-term rental that proves Milwaukee is every bit as cool as the lake it sits on.
👩🎨 About the Owners
Lake Effect Club was dreamed up by three friends—two from Milwaukee, one who married in—who love design, storytelling, and this awesome city in equal measure.
We’re an architectural/interior designer, a director/producer, and a former fashion designer turned all-around creative. During the pandemic, we started imagining the types of places we’d want to stay, and how we could bring that feeling to Milwaukee: something colorful, thoughtful, and full of character.
A few years later, we found the right building—a 150+ year-old property—and brought it back to life with a thoughtful update, a mix of designer finds, local touches, new pieces and a whole lot of love.
We think Milwaukee is the greatest city on earth. This is our way of sharing it. 💛
The Hoan: Space & Vibe 🎨
Named for Milwaukee’s iconic bridge, The Hoan greets you with a bold blue staircase and a golden-hued living room that practically glows. A cozy reading nook is tucked in for when you want to hide away with a book, while the kitchen and dining room are set up for actual dinners (or just late-night pizza). A modern bathroom, a restful bedroom with a desk, and thoughtful art throughout keep things feeling balanced. Like all our spaces, it’s layered with vintage finds, designer furniture, and fresh new pieces where it matters (beds, mattresses, couches). The Hoan sleeps six, and if you need more space, you can connect with The Sydney to host your whole crew
