Nous sommes situĂ©s sur 16 acres privĂ©s Ă  Elkton, en Virginie. Nous avons amoureusement restaurĂ© et meublĂ© une maison de ferme construit Ă  l'origine en 1905. Il est nichĂ© entre les montagnes Blue Ridge et Shenandoah la riviĂšre. CapacitĂ© d'accueil jusqu'Ă  huit confortablement. Il ya 3 chambres, une salle familiale avec un canapĂ© inclinable, cuisine, 2 salles de bains, et une buanderie avec laveuse et sĂ©cheuse. Profitez de griller sur le pont arriĂšre aprĂšs vous et les vĂŽtres passer une journĂ©e sur la pĂȘche en riviĂšre, tubing, canoĂ«, natation ou simplement se dĂ©tendre. Vous pouvez suivre le chemin qui descend vers la riviĂšre Shenandoah pour la pĂȘche, la natation, et le tube! Votre spot riverain repaire privĂ© est plus de 800 pieds de long! Nous avons deux foyers (un par la riviĂšre et un cĂŽtĂ© de la plate-forme arriĂšre) pour une nuit de S'mores. Vous pouvez mĂȘme planter une tente et dormir le long de la riviĂšre!

Nous sommes idĂ©alement situĂ©s Ă  seulement 10 minutes de Massanutten et 20 minutes de JMU! La forĂȘt national de Shenandoah est Ă  proximitĂ© ainsi. Notre emplacement est idĂ©al pour profiter de nombreuses activitĂ©s de plein air, boutiques, restaurants, ou la croisiĂšre autour de vĂ©rifier caves VA.

Great location, secluded away from other houses. Walk to river was a well cleared, short trail. We had a great time and our golden doodle didn’t want to leave. She was laying under the nice shade tree in the front yard as we packed up and ignored us when it was time to get in the car

privacy was great! A/C not great so bring a few fans (we did!) for upstairs - otherwise we loved the location, the privacy and the quiet of the country. house was just as the pictures showed. we will be looking forward to returning some day!

My wife and I loved the place. The kids preferred to be on their devices. The inlaws just set on the riverbank. Tubing was a lot of fun. The only way you could canoe is to go down the river and bring it back in a truck. The fishing was nice. The old farm house is fully remodeled. Even though they have animals, it doesn't have an overwhelming dog smell. The train didn't bother us too much. The forest on the way to teb river is charming.

Hiking with Family

The property was beautiful and close to Shenandoah where my family was hiking for the weekend. It was nice to come back to a comfy retreat after hours of hiking. The property was clean and had peaceful surroundings.

Perfect Labor Day Stay

This property was perfect. We used the fire pit, watched thunderstorms from the porch, floated in the river, slept in the very comfy bed and had a perfect long weekend. I'd love to come back someday.

When we arrived, was very cold. Finally warmed a little. Last day air not working upstairs. Caused us to sleep downstairs as it was over 80 upstairs.

A lovely river house

We had a wonderful time here! Everything was easy and relaxed. Close to a store for groceries, right on the river for daily, any-time swims, an easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. We would love to return here again.

Solitude at the river

Relaxing location near the river, no neighbors other than the train tracks. Lots of amenities that come with the house - tubes for floating, canoes, bocce ball for the yard!

We stayed here as family to visit Shannendoah park and it was very convenient! A bit hard to find and the train was noisy but we had a great time!

Family Vacation

The property was exactly as described online. We comfortably slept 7 people (ages 16-55) at the property. The views were beautiful, and it was a really easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. the owners responded quickly when I had questions.

Shenendoah Escape

Two far-flung brothers and me, along with some adult offspring, met up for fishing and fun - great location and accomodations. Plenty of room for our crowd - river landing worked well for launching our craft to float and fish for smallmouth. Two porches and acres of yard to romp.

Disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with family

Beautiful property enjoyed by the whole family. Great yard for kite flying and great space to relax by the river. Firepit was enjoyed every night, and the big table in the family room was perfect for games and puzzle making. Location perfect for short trip to Luray Cavern, hiking in Shenandoah National Park and tubing down the river. We didn't want to leave!

Convenient and Comfortable, with Room for Improvement

The house was in a convenient location and we found the beds very comfortable. Kitchen had all cooking essentials provided. The outdoor space looked great, even though we didn’t have time to utilize it. There was an AC issue for the 2nd floor and Chrisi (the host) was quick to respond and sent someone out quickly. Communication with the Property Manager was less responsive and unsure of items on site. Check in was easy and the house was tidy. A few housekeeping oversights (hair in shower drain/not draining well, dirty sheets in washer, etc.), and a strong dog odor when the mini-split was running. We also found out 4 days before check-in that we were responsible for taking all trash to a refuse center (not mentioned in listing). With our son’s graduation/moving out, we were unable to make it while it was open. To avoid the 50 fee for leaving trash we had to take it home to Massachusetts with us.

Serene setting within close proximity of adventures

Clean and comfortable home. Love the old farm feel with some modern touches. The views are great, and the property allows for different relaxation settings, be it on the back deck enjoying a fire and a meal, or playing ball on the grounds, or relaxing by the river. Watching the cows from the kitchen table during morning coffee was a great way to wake up. We even enjoyed the train, although if you are a light sleeper bring a device to play some white noise... and who does not love cocktail pac man arcade!

Oh Shenandoah!

What a lovely home on the Shenandoah River! With all the amenities of home, mountain views in front and back of the house, we were in heaven! Spent every day hiking in Shenandoah National Park with waterfalls and great views at every turn. Caught smallmouth bass in the river behind the house. Our dog loved the fields and trails. Right next to Harrisonburg and JMU, and five minutes from Massanutten where the kids drove go carts, tubed down a grass covered slope, and took a zip line down the mountain. Be sure to treat yourself to breakfast at Firebird Cafe and custard at Kline's Dairy Bar. Will definitely return!

Great house!

This is a super cute renovated farmhouse. Our family of four really enjoyed the space and the outdoors around the house. The kids absolutely loved the little reading nook and the Pac-Man game. Plenty of space to sit down by the water, as well. The house is well stocked with everything we needed for our long weekend visit. We cooked simple meals most evenings and had ample pots, pans, and utensils. We went to the Shenandoah National forest for hiking during the day and spent afternoons and evening fishing and swimming. The walk down to the river has a nice path, and is shady and nice. Highly recommend bringing water shoes and bug spray in the summertime.
