The home is located inside Finca Tranquila (Tranquil Farm), which is a private, gated, equestrian community at the base of the Talamanca Mountain Range in the small town of Naranjito, just 20-25 minutes outside of the world famous Manuel Antonio. The property includes approx. 20 private lots owned primarily by US, Canadian, and Europeans who live there full or part-time. The equestrian part of the gated community is managed by a Farm Manager who is available to assist with saddling the horses for you. Abundant wildlife covers the expansive property that reaches all the way to the Gallega River. Enjoy a sit by the private lagoon or a quiet walk on the trails, which are open to all guests, perfumed with Ylang Ylang trees, bowing bamboos, troupes of spider monkeys, leaf cutter ants, mango and banana trees, and dramatic neon tropical flowers that grow in abundance all around.
Naranjito - The small but friendly town of Naranjito has a population of less than 4,000. It is a 10 minute drive down a country road through several farm properties with horse stables, cow pastures, goat farms, small homes, and a local cemetery. The town has a small but solid new pharmacy with English-speaking medical staff onsite to prescribe local OTC drugs for any ailments. There are several small grocery stores with all needed toiletries and fresh & packaged goods, beverages, and more. Also in town: church (Saturday night service), elementary school, bakery, barber shop, Marthaâs Soda (sodas = small, cheap, mostly home-cooking roadside restaurants) with the best breakfast birria burrito you will ever eat, soccer field, bar, veterinary supply, hardware store, and several small quick-service restaurants. A public hospital for any emergencies is on the Naranjito / Quepos border another 10 minutes away. A gas station (Managua) is located on the turn to Naranjito from Quepos but itâs recommended to fuel up in downtown Quepos where they donât dilute the gas with water.

We recommend flying from SJO to Quepos domestic airport. It is a wonderful ~20 minute flight and when you land you are only 15 minutes away from the home. The domestic flight is a great way to see the amazing topography of Costa Rica, and some of its mountains, rivers, beaches.

Laundry room on the lower level has a brand new washer, dryer and line-drying available. Newly-installed indoor & outdoor Spanish tile floors cover walking spaces and a wraparound terrace with custom-made swing bed, outdoor gas grill, and lounge space to take in the priceless view or midday nap. No televisions in the house but a large collection of great books. Surrounding property is professionally landscaped and features diverse and colorful fauna including mango, coconut, lime, mandarin, almond, papaya, and mangosteen trees, mature hibiscus and bougainvillea bushes, crawling vines, manicured pineapple garden, and curated variety of pollinator plants attracting abundant hummingbird and butterfly species year round. A new and moody 50â x 20â dark tile pool with gazebo & lounge furniture stretch to the end of the property which drops off to a sweeping view of Brahman cow-spotted fields extending to the Gallega River and Talamanca Mountain Range.
