While you're out there, be sure to take in the natural surroundings because the ocean, palm trees, and dunes are all within view.

If you're feeling like some local fare, you'll find great restaurants right on the beach such as The Ocean Room, Jasmine Porch At the Sanctuary, and Loggerhead Grill, all less than three miles away. Take the kids out to explore miles of paved bike and nature trails that wind about the island. Downtown Charleston is only 25 miles away, where the family can check out pirate tours, the Gibbes Museum of Art, landscaped gardens, and live concerts. And if you want something a little more local, take a short trip into Freshfields Village (about 2 miles) where you’ll be able to shop for local produce, explore cute boutiques, and lose yourself in the local culture.
