We enjoyed our stay even though it was a very rainy weekend. Nice place with comfortable beds, hot showers, and anything you would need available. The door lock is a little tricky. It is a long code and you have to be quick typing it in. Would stay here again.
The location was great. While the property could be great also it needed much work. There were holes in walls and bedroom door didnât close among other things. I would suggest bringing your own pillows at pillows are flat as pancakes!! While I appreciate the keyless entry you had to enter the code three or four times before the door would open. Property was very clean. Just needs renovated.
Honestly, it was okay. Location was great, many things to do in the area within walking distance. Older unit, not really an ocean view. Doors would not shut. Washer/dryer was not really available, needed to go across the main road to laundry mat. Internet was spotty. Door code was way too long.
The location of the condo couldnât have been better - you walk out and literally to the right is the Main Street of IOP with all restaurants and shops. The location of the private pier and beach directly across the street was also ideal! We visited in off season so it was not busy at all. The condo was clean and everything we needed was provided. I would recommend that the owners put up new curtains in the second bedroom though, as they are very thin and light does come in. We brought our own pack and play and slumber pod for our toddler so the light wasnât as much of an issue, but it may be for some. We would come back and stay again - easy parking, instructions to check in and check out.
Walk out of the parking lot, cross the street and you have access to the private fishing pier - which is a great pier. Loved sitting and feeling the breeze there. Also private access to the beach. You really can see the ocean from the balcony here and sunrise is pretty great from the balcony as well. We found everything to be comfortable. No problems at all. You have 3 flights of stairs to climb but you get used to it pretty fast. Regular coffee maker - bring your own filters. Meals out are pretty expensive. If we return we'll cook some meals in. The kitchen is very nice. You can walk down palm lined streets to good restaurants. Coconut Joe's exceeded our expectations and is right on the beach. Papi's tacos was really good. The pool was great and you can see it off the balcony. Very small complex in a great location. Bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas. And the grills are ones you would find in a camp ground. Bring your own charcoal? Not gas and are in the parking lot right by green transformer boxes. So in my view, you really don't have a grill unless I missed something. We weren't grilling so it was okay. No washer dryer in unit. That was okay too. We would come back for sure.
Property is amazing and a great value for the price. Location is amazing.
Vacasa manages this property and they are TERRIBLE.
A tropical storm hit during our stay which ruined it. Before we arrived I was contacted by Vacasa saying that the local office would be closed during my stay due to the storm. Given that the Vacasa office is literally across the street from this property, I was naturally concerned. I tried contacting Vacasa and was unable to talk to anyone in the local office. Naturally I had questions about whether the property was accessible given the local Vacasa office employees wouldn't even drive to the area during the storm. I was directed to a non american off short customer service person and to say the person had no answers was an understatement. The text message I got from Vacasa was basically a "storm is coming we are leaving town good luck!" message that was the WORST message you could send to people in such a situation.
I was not going to write a review but honestly I keep getting email reminders asking for a review and I'm only doing this to stop those reminders from reminding of me about this horrible vacation.
I don't fault the owners at all, my gripe is with Vacasa which is legit a 1 start vacation rental company. Do not rent any of their properties, do not let them manage your rentals. Check out their horrible < 2 star google reviews for that local office like I should have ahead of time.
Loved the convenience of the location. Very walkable, beach access, pool, and Target just across the bridge. Cleaners do need to pay more attention to detailâbaseboards in bathroom were covered in hair and lint, and trashcan had crackers and cheese in the boot tray behind it. They offered to come back and clean but that would have been inconvenient. We also had pest control show up and do some spraying, but he left before we could mention the bug we saw. Iâve stayed in worse places, just have to note since Iâm a neat freak. If cleaners do better with crumbs, Iâd give it 5 stars!
It was a nice place with a good pool and a nice beach. I was a little disappointed that the dishwasher was broken during our stay. With our family of five, it was a pain to do the dishes by hand. The beds were very comfy and the shower was nice. I also liked being able to easily walk to IOP. My only other wish was for more beach stuff available in the condo for the kids to play with. The umbrella and chairs were very rickety and not the best either.
All in all it was a decent stay, and i appreciated the cleanliness of the place and the ease of checking in and out. We would stay again.
We spent Christmas Eve and a few more days in this bright and cheery condo. About half a block to the beach and a short walk to two breakfast restaurants - now thatâs my idea of a vacation!
Property was close to ocean, east walking distance. Condo had everything we needed to cook and enough space to feed and visit with local relatives while staying there. It worked out very well with having a shower in one bathroom and a tub in another. We had a young child who does baths and elderly grandpa who prefers walk in showers.
Cannot beat the location of the Oceanside Villas. IOP is a very walkable community with the Oceanside Villas right in the center with easy access to the beach. The unit was well appointed - nice king size bed for the primary with an updated shower in the ensuite bath.
The primary closet was full of beach chairs, boogie boards and a vacuum - nice but - it didn't leave much room to hang my clothes. We have stayed in these condos before - usually the utility closet just as you come in is where most keep those things - prevents dragging sand into and through the condo and from having to share the closet with beach equipment. Looks like they have the utility closet set up as an additional "owner's closet" with a lock.
Overall the condo was as represented in the photos and we enjoyed our stay. Ate most meals out, Long Island Cafe, The Refuge, High Thyme, Acme Low Country - all repeat favorites for us. We would certainly stay here again. We are former Oceanside Villa owners so we knew what to expect with the optimal location and the set up of the units.
Shout out to Vacasa - their bedding/linen set up was lovely as was the starter setup of toiletries etc.
The location of this property was perfect for our family! Easy beach access, walkable to a few restaurants and shops, and easy to get on and off the island to go into Charleston. Our kids loved the pool too and we had plenty of space in the condo as well. You can see the ocean from the balcony and we enjoyed sitting there in the mornings. Very quiet complex and street below.
Unfortunately for me, the condo just felt very used which detracted from our enjoyment of the property. A deep cleaning and some fresh paint would move this to a 5 star rating from me.
A great location that is easy to reach and in the middle of where you want to be. Walking distance to everything you need so you can park the car and forget about it until it is time to leave. Safe beach with plenty of life guards and fun!
Check in process was a bit confusing. We arrived at 4:00 to check in at the office but it was already closed. Our initial check in email told us the office didnât close until 5:00.
However we did check the black mailbox and found our Check-In info.
The entrance code to get into the unit was different from the one we received in the email. We eventually figured it out to use the one from the paper.
Outside of that, the unit was awesome, very clean you can smell the bleach when you walk in. We were very comfortable after a long day of exploring. I recommend this unit. Has everything you need.
This our first time trying this type of vacation stay. We will definitely do it again! Perfect location to the beach and nice amenities. Met some neighbors at the pool which made it even nicer. Great job on the upgrades in the unit!
