This first-floor villa has beautiful scenic views and is positioned right in front of the shoreline. You'll love the quiet and comfort of this home furnished with an open dining area and patio. Your guests will also enjoy waking up to the sound of crashing waves from their master bedroom. A full kitchen is available for when you want to explore some new culinary creations, and the living area provides the perfect atmosphere for friends and family to catch up in. For some good exercise, take advantage of the shared tennis court.

What’s nearby:
The villa is located in the West Beach Village on Kiawah Island. You'll be only a short walk to Cougar Point Golf Course and brand new West Beach Conference Center. Bike or drive to the Freshfields Village (just about three miles away) where you’ll be able to find all kinds of fresh produce and local treats. For shopping, a 40-minute drive will take you to The Shops at Belmond Charleston Place, and if you'd like a good beer, McCann’s Irish Pub is only a four-minute drive away. You can also check out historic downtown Charleston with an easy 25-mile drive. Of course, you'll be only steps from the beach where you can soak in the sun all day long.

Unit was clean. Lacked basic supplies like trash bags and coffee filters. Weren’t provided the pass for island access or the parking pass for the unit on the front end. When we called, told they would be in the unit (which would t be helpful for getting on the island

Disappointing

Very outdated. Dirty carpet. Broken ice maker. No glass tray in microwave. Tattered & stained draperies. Had to contact maintenance because door to pack porch wouldn’t lock. Unit above us was undergoing renovations so hammers & saws started at around 7:15 a.m. each morning. The entire front of the building was covered with scaffolding where construction crews were tearing off shingles. Entire area covered with trash bins, power tools with cords laying everywhere. Vacasa did not make us aware of this at the time of booking this unit. Had previous bad experience with Vacasa earlier this year with another unit we rented in another location. Vacasa needs to step up their game.

More than expected

Just a wonderful 1 bedroom villa... was exactly as advertised. You can't see the ocean from this first floor abode but you hear the ocean and it is merely a 50 step walk to the beach... could not have been happier.

Nice little hideaway

Great little one bedroom condo close to beach. Fantastc bed! Clean and well appointed except for the lack of a lamp to read by. Sofa side lamps were of low voltage and not tall enough and overhead spots were too bright. A dimmer might resolve this or a tall, pole lamp by the chair. Small issue with a door that did not lock
.created concern for leaving valuables unattended and liability in case vandalism should occur while we were out. Lock was repaired morning we left
.too late for us but good for the owners and subsequent guests. We would book same unit again.

Wonderful cozy Home away from Home

The experience was wonderful. From beginning to end. I’ve stayed at this resort many times this location was ideal for a family with kids. Quick and private entrance to the beach. Enough space to cozy up and enjoy dinner and cuddles on the comfy couch or a nice quiet evening on the porch. Great for a couple days in paradise!!!

Pros and Cons

We chose this for the proximity to the beach and were not disappointed in that sense. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The dish soap, paper towels, dishwasher and laundry pods, garbage bags, tp, and starter supplies of soap and shampoo were appreciated. However, I would forego all of those items for an additional gate fob and a key to the back door. Very inconvenient to have 1 fob for the gate to the beach access when you have people going to the beach at different times. Property management only provides one even though it's been repeatedly mentioned in the reviews. The owner doesn't provide a key for the back door...which is closest to the beach and the most logical door to use. Makes no sense whatsoever that you can leave through that door and lock it, but have to return through the front door (and hope you remembered to remove the chain) with beach chairs, bag, umbrella, etc or take all that stuff to the patio and look longingly in the patio door then walk around to the front to get in. It was comfortable for 2 people, but would be very crowded with 3 or 4. The bedroom was beautiful and spacious. The living room had lots of extra stuff (beanbag chairs, baskets, etc) that takes up space and makes it difficult to unpack or move around. We used what little storage space there was in the bedroom closet to stash some of the extra stuff just so we could get out the back door and sit comfortably in the living room. It was manageable and quite possibly just a difference in taste. One small kitchen note...bring your own wine glasses, as there were 2-ish very small not really wine glasses. Everything else was adequate. As always, we enjoyed our time at Kiawah, but would probably find another place to stay next time due to the key and gate fob situation.

TV didn’t work in family room or bedroom whole time we were there so that was a pain. Were supposed to send someone out to fix Friday but that didn’t happen. Other than that unit was fine.

Beautiful, but Flawed

First of all, the villa is beautifully decorated. And the location was great. It was very clean. But several issues marred our stay, and they were reported upon discovery to the property manager. First of all, we were there for two nights, which really totals only 42 hours when one considers that check in is at 4 pm and checkout is at 10 am. A good deal of that time was spent dealing with maintenance issues. We couldn’t get into the villa on time because none of the keys provided would work in the lock, which needed cleaning/lubricating. So the first evening we spent almost an hour trying to get IN, and then get the door fixed for the rest of the short stay. The living room television lost its cable connection and went on and off constantly, not huge, but frustrating to my husband who wanted to watch Monday Night Football, but it didn’t matter once he ascertained that the cable was not even subscribed to ESPN at all. We were only allowed one beach fob for 3 adults, so we had to stay together or be available to each other all the time. I asked for another fob and was told we were only allowed one. This meant that if one of us went for a run on the beach, they needed the fob, and no one else could go down to the beach until they returned. There is a public beach access to one side of the property, but due to construction it is mostly rock and difficult to use, especially for one of our party with an injury. One of the chairs for the porch/balcony area is broken and tips forward at a steep angle, again not huge , but a safety issue. The biggest problem by far was that in the ground floor, easily accessible villa, the sliding glass door to the porch would not latch. So we slept all night with an unlocked door, and no one slept well. It was reported the first evening, but knowing we would have to wait up for maintenance and lose more vacation time, we told them to just come the next day. It could not be fixed. It needed the entire latch replaced, which led maintenance to put in a tension rod as a temporary fix. If this issue is not fixed for anyone arriving after 8:/25/21, that is poor customer care and service. It’s a safety issue. To conclude, I have stayed in properties managed by Vacasa before. Generally, it is a good experience. This one, though, was enough to make me hesitant the next time.

nice stay

property had not been cleaned yet at check in time. cleaning crew showed up soon after and got it cleaned quickly. front door keys did not work on back door porch lock. that being said the condo was very nice and we enjoyed our stay at shipwatch. this is a very convienent location. the beach is fabulous.

Amazing beach weekend

My fiancé and I had the best little weekend getaway here! The bed is super cozy and the whole apt is clean and well equipped for cooking and chilling! The proximity to the beach is A+!

Great beach access

The condo is in a wonderful location, steps to the beach and is nicely furnished and decorated. If you plan on cooking here bring all your basics like salt/pepper, coffee filters, and a dish brush for clean up. The property management company is terrible, and with proper instructions could have saved us several trips to the store for supplies.

The sheets on the bed were sour and not clean. The pillows were extremely flat. We actually left and cut our vacation short due to the sheets. This was the worse place we have ever stayed. Also did not appear that the villa had been cleaned. I am requesting a refund. This is totally unacceptable.

Ideal location just steps from the beach.

This location was ideal for a quick get away trip for the weekend.. It’s located just a short walk from the beach and, was an ideal location for us to day trip into the city. We’d certainly stay here again.
