Beautiful cabin on one of Minnesota's clearest lakes. Enjoy your summer getaway with your own private beach, 2 private docks and free use of a canoe, kayak and 2 paddle boards. You can also rent the pontoon for the week at a discounted price. Extra chairs to sit around the patio fire at night.
Lake Shamineau has up to 20 feet of water clarity. Out cabin is on the mostly undeveloped northern shore The back of the cabin is protected by 3.5 private acres of woods and trails.

We absolutely loved our time at the lakehouse—it was peaceful, cozy, and just perfect. Waking up in a clean, spacious house, seeing the beautiful view of the lake, it all made us feel relaxed. We absolutely loved soaring across the lake in the pontoon boat, fishing on the two docks, and paddle boarding across the water. It was so nice that we could watch separate movies on the many tvs in the house, use the kayaks and canoes, and use the extra fishing poles. Whether we were fishing, roasting marshmallows by the fire, or just relaxing inside, every moment felt special. It was the kind of place that made us feel instantly at home and already has us dreaming of coming back.

Beautiful lake and cabin! We had a perfect week’s vacation. Fishing, beach, deck, dock and home were all wonderful! We highly recommend staying here in the summer.

Owners are quick to respond. Lots of space to spread out. Game room was an added bonus.

Cabin week

My family really enjoyed the week. My granddaughter was obsessed with the beach. The home has a true cabin feel with all the amenities you could imagine. Overall it was a great experience.

A Very Relaxing Getaway..

"Thanks Nathan, we had a great stay and truly enjoyed the cabin. The game room was a fantastic addition and we spent most of our indoor time there. Thank you for the fully stocked kitchen as well, we definitely did not think of everything we needed to bring. Again, we loved the cabin and felt it had all the amenities we needed and more! Great Family Getaway

We had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and there are plenty of bedrooms. The outdoor space is expansive and cozy. The seclusion from the resorts or crowded cabins adds to the privacy and enjoyment. The hosts were very quick to respond to inquiries or to give us notifications. My expectations based on the listing were met. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Annual family vacation

The cabin and property worked out great for us; seven adults. Our kids are grown and the cabin offered plenty of space to do things together and also find a quiet spot. The deck, fire pit and general surroundings of the cabin were greatly appreciated and welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and organized. The views of the lake are incredible. We took full advantage of the pontoon to motor around the lake.

Great Times at Lake Shamineau

We loved how we could spread out and enjoy the house and water resources. The only hitch was the pontoon was not available. We would have enjoyed being out on the lake as a group.

Lovely Cabin to spend a rainy week!

Nathan did everything he could to make our week wonderful-and it was-minus the rain and cold-of which he had no control over;)! The cabin and bunkhouse has everything we needed and more. The great room got much use as we could be outside. The fire pit area is spectacular and we got to enjoy it as well a couple nights. Great place and great owner to work with-highly recommend!

Exactly what we needed

This place was exactly what we needed. It was exactly as described. It’s fully stocked with pots, pans, and small appliances. There are plenty of board games and puzzles for our entire family to do. The beds were comfortable and the home was very clean. The scenery outside was absolutely stunning! We definitely recommend and would come back.

Winter Wonderland

This cabin was perfect for our family to celebrate Christmas! We spent most of our time in what we referred to as the “great room”, the southern facing sun room looking over the lake. Beautifully decorated and well equipped. We did some ice fishing and took walks along the shore. We all would like to visit again. Thank you Nathan for your quick responses! ~ Michele and family

Great for families!

Upon arrival, we went to the wrong entrance that was blocked off.. it was stressful, but Nathan called us back ASAP and provided me with directions to the main entrance. Nathan was very flexible and allowed us to check in early, and check out late. We went here for the weekend to have some family time, and it was great! The cabin is spacious enough that we can have our own space, yet still all be together! I loved that the lake was right behind us. We would like to return in the summertime to enjoy the lake and other summer activities.

Beautiful place!

We had a great time at this cabin. Beautiful view of the lake from the large front room. Very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Nice bunk beds in two of the bedrooms. Looked like there had been recent updates to the cabin, new appliances, etc. The sandy beach was great for my small kids to play and splash around in the shallow water. There was not much boat traffic (besides the trolling fishermen), so it was very peaceful. My husband and son had a great time fishing off the dock and the boat. My husband even caught a walleye! Owners were easy to work with. We will be back!

Fabulous Fall Getaway

Even though this was a spur-of-the-moment, very last-minute trip, everything went very smoothly from the moment I sent the initial email for availability! Owners were very responsive any time we had a question. The property is quite private, with 2 private docks (we also rented the pontoon). Our chocolate Lab Lucy absolutely loved jumping off the dock and retrieving her duck :-) The cabin and property are well-cared for and you can tell that a lot of time, love and attention have gone into it. Very clean as well (which goes a LONG way with me!) Beautiful flagstone terraced patio right off the beach, with good quality Adirondack chairs for relaxing, made even more enjoyable by evening campfires. Very highly recommend this property and we intend to return!

Beautiful Cabin, Peaceful Setting

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The kitchen is fully stocked - we didn't want for a thing when cooking. The beds and furniture are comfortable. Our favorite room was the sunroom. The views of the lake are incredible! The fireplace kept us toasty warm on chilly mornings. The yard and sandy beach are large. We had a couple nice fires on the beach. There are abandoned properties on one side and one cabin on the other. We didn't see anyone else our entire stay. It was so peaceful and quiet - nothing but wildlife, water lapping up on the shore, and the wind rustling through the trees. It was nice to sit on the chairs at the end of dock and enjoy the lake. We loved the cabin and the property. We will definitely be back!

Well equipped, perfect location with big beach area, lovely home, great for family reunions!

We had a wonderful time staying at this "family friendly cabin". It was beautiful inside and decorated in such a cozy way you could tell it was a family home. The weather was perfect during our stay in May and the water was as smooth as silk. Can't express how much we enjoyed every minute at Lake Shamineau at the Hoffman's cabin. We fished (and caught a bass), kayaked, built sand castles, grilled dinners on the deck, roasted marshmallows on a big campfire one night, saw loons and listened to them at night. We went for walks, star gazed and truly loved every minute in this secluded setting. Working with Nathan when we had questions or concerns was easy as he was easily accessible and great to work with. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend staying there if you want a quiet comfortable vacation by a lake in a home that has everything a family could need. C. Commons

Perfect trip for our family

The cabin was perfect for our family! The kids loved the big sandy beach and our dogs loved going for a swim followed by lounging in the sand. My only two comments for improvement are: 1: the grill needs some attention. Lots of grease on the grill. We would have loved to use it more but only used it once. 2: the property information on VRBO for the listing vs. the details you have access to after you book were inconsistent. For example the listing says there is wifi but the information provided on the app after you book said no wifi. However, Wifi is included and worked great 😊 also the home details we were emailed prior to our arrival were for 2022 and not 2023 so I needed to text the owners to confirm some things. (Ex:drinking water) This did not stop us from booking again for next year! Great place for large families and we look forward to returning!

We can’t say enough about this property! Beautiful, well stocked with everything you will need, private sandy beach, clean, and pet friendly! The pontoon is an additional bonus! We loved our stay and will book again!
