Beautiful cabin on one of Minnesota's clearest lakes. Enjoy your summer getaway with your own private beach, 2 private docks and free use of a canoe, kayak and 2 paddle boards. You can also rent the pontoon for the week at a discounted price. Extra chairs to sit around the patio fire at night.
Lake Shamineau has up to 20 feet of water clarity. Out cabin is on the mostly undeveloped northern shore The back of the cabin is protected by 3.5 private acres of woods and trails.

We can’t say enough about this property! Beautiful, well stocked with everything you will need, private sandy beach, clean, and pet friendly! The pontoon is an additional bonus! We loved our stay and will book again!

We cannot say enough great things about this place! Our family had a blast! Thank you for making us feel like this was our home for our stay. And thank you for all the extra things you have available for the kiddos. Not only the private beach area, but the canoe, kayak, boards and they even put a couple of puzzles together at night. We loved our stay!

We had the best time staying here for our family vacation! Very clean, well stocked with everything you need, plenty of space for everyone to be together or on their own, the pontoon was a nice addition to cruise around the lake, and a clean sandy beach. The biggest bonus was being able to bring our dogs. Nathan was great to work with, he answered everything I needed to know. There were so many great memories created here, including celebrating my dad’s 50th birthday, and my now fiancĂ© and I getting engaged! I would recommend this place a million times!

We absolutely loved our time at the lakehouse—it was peaceful, cozy, and just perfect. Waking up in a clean, spacious house, seeing the beautiful view of the lake, it all made us feel relaxed. We absolutely loved soaring across the lake in the pontoon boat, fishing on the two docks, and paddle boarding across the water. It was so nice that we could watch separate movies on the many tvs in the house, use the kayaks and canoes, and use the extra fishing poles. Whether we were fishing, roasting marshmallows by the fire, or just relaxing inside, every moment felt special. It was the kind of place that made us feel instantly at home and already has us dreaming of coming back.

Great cabin!

Enjoyed a great week. Cabin was clean and beautiful. Plenty of space for family fun. Stocked with all the kitchen tools needed to prepare our family meals. Loved the games and books available to enjoy during our stay. A wonderful time plenty of room to hike and enjoy the outdoors - we even got a fresh snow to give us a sparkling view of the lake from the big cabin windows. Thank you!

Perfect cold January getaway!

We were there during the coldest week of 2025 so far and stayed warm and cozy doing crafts, playing games, ice fishing, etc! The cabin is lovely, especially the big front room overlooking the lake. We Had excellent communication with our hosts and a couple of minor issues were resolved quickly! We would Definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay!!

Wonderful cabin with everything you need right on the lake. We had our family of 4 stay and had a great time. The lake is so clear and so many loons! I would highly recommend this cabin, roomy, super clean and they have thought of everything.

Great location on a quiet lake

The house was exactly as advertised- very clean, everything we needed for a great vacation. Really appreciated how easy it was to cook- kitchen was very well stocked with utensils/pots/pans etc. Location was great- very close to the lake with large sandy beach- great outdoor space and a huge bonus to have kayaks and paddle boards to use. The lake traffic was so minimal we almost felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves.

Great place on a beautiful lake. The area is spacious, clean and very well remodeled. The double dock was quite convenient. Host was very responsive and check in was easy. Would love to bring my family here to enjoy the beach and clear water.

Another great stay

We had another great stay here! This was our second summer here and the family loves it. The kids love the beach, riding as passengers on the paddle boards, the bunk beds, calling the loons, and watching movies. The patio has plenty of seating and a good mix of sun and shade to relax outside watching the kids play. It’s a perfect place to host our families (7 adults and 3 kids). We went to Brainerd for mini golf and also took the kids horseback riding. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

Wonderful Week on the Water

This cabin was PERFECT for our group of adults + children. The sandy beach was a great area to play and use floaties. We also made use of the paddle boards and the pontoon boat for deeper water swimming. We fished and caught enough pan fish + bass to do a small fish fry! The inside space was also great - we loved the big living room to eat together, watch Olympics and hang out after a long day in the sun. The kitchen had everything we needed to prep great meals and there was more than enough plates and silverware. We really appreciated the dishwasher. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this space! We would definitely rent again.

Best lake cabin EVER!!!!

Such a wonderful property! Cabin is luxurious but cozy, stocked with every single thing you need from a wonderful modern kitchen to beach toys for the kids! Whether eating in the kitchen, great room or deck, the views of beautiful, clear Lake Shamineau are fabulous! Best sleep of my life on the king bed in master suite, I’m going home to order a mattress EXACTLY like that one! This rental is worth every penny people! You won’t regret booking this one. Owners and property managers are efficient, warm, friendly and helpful. My family had a wonderful week here!

Fabulous Cabin with all the extras!

Such a wonderful cabin. We enjoyed our cozy, snowy spring break. Plenty of beds, couches to sit/lounge on, love the big tables to play board games, card games, puzzles and even do some watercolor painting. Wonderfully remodeled kitchen and buffet/bar area. Love the gas fireplace to give that final cozy touch. Wish we could have gotten outside to use the fire pit and deck — but the weather didn’t cooperate. Looks like we’ll have to come back! Thanks again for opening up your cabin for us to stay!

Great new years stay

Property was great for two families. The great room was a fun hangout spot. Well stocked house and nice walks in the woods and on the lake made for a relaxing weekend.

We’d go back without hesitation!

The house was just as described and what we expected. Kitchen was well set up with had anything we needed. All of us agreed we each had the most comfortable bed and bedding. Beach was pretty private and had all the equipment we could ask for to play with. If it hadn’t rained so much our last two days it would’ve been perfection.

Perfect trip for our family

The cabin was perfect for our family! The kids loved the big sandy beach and our dogs loved going for a swim followed by lounging in the sand. My only two comments for improvement are: 1: the grill needs some attention. Lots of grease on the grill. We would have loved to use it more but only used it once. 2: the property information on VRBO for the listing vs. the details you have access to after you book were inconsistent. For example the listing says there is wifi but the information provided on the app after you book said no wifi. However, Wifi is included and worked great 😊 also the home details we were emailed prior to our arrival were for 2022 and not 2023 so I needed to text the owners to confirm some things. (Ex:drinking water) This did not stop us from booking again for next year! Great place for large families and we look forward to returning!

Annual family vacation

The cabin and property worked out great for us; seven adults. Our kids are grown and the cabin offered plenty of space to do things together and also find a quiet spot. The deck, fire pit and general surroundings of the cabin were greatly appreciated and welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and organized. The views of the lake are incredible. We took full advantage of the pontoon to motor around the lake.

Winter fishing trip

We had an amazing time. We were able to go ice fishing in the pop-up tent we rented from the owners, along with a heater. It made it so comfortable fishing. The sights were beautiful and the accommodations exceptional! The ping pong game was very entertaining. Look forward to renting it in a different we rent season!
