The Neighborhood:
Springdale / Newfield has a small-town in the city feel / residential charm. It has tree-lined streets, sidewalks, and a pedestrian-friendly layout add to its appeal. There are convenient local amenities as the neighborhood has shops, restaurants, and convenient services along Hope Street, which is a sort of local commercial spine. While driving is usually needed, some people walk to grocery stores, pharmacies, and smaller shops. The Springdale Metro-North station (on the New Canaan Branch) serves the neighborhood. It is also a short drive to the Merritt Parkway and to downtown Stamford or I-95. For commuters going into New York or other parts of the region, having a train station nearby is a major plus, as it is just 12 minutes to the Stamford station. The house has proximity to parks, green space, and outdoor recreation. Stamford itself offers a lot of parks and nature areas, and Springdale has its share of local parks and walking routes. The Weed Memorial & Hollander branch of the Ferguson Library is located in Springdale
