Grange des années 1940 à Mountain Cove - Près des cascades et des randonnées pédestres de DuPont

Niché dans une "holler" au milieu de bois durs, de ruisseaux, de rhododendrons et d'un petit étang empoissonné, se trouve une nouvelle cabane convertie qui a commencé à devenir une grange dans les années 1940. "The Acorn" fait partie de la ferme active de notre famille avec des poules (des œufs frais!), porc au ventre, herbes fraîches, pêche & plus.

Le gland a été impeccablement nettoyé, isolé, peint et équipé de nombreux équipements modernes pour rendre votre séjour pittoresque et confortable. Le combo den / salle à manger / cuisine était l'ancienne grange, et le «pavillon de nuit» - une grande pièce avec une cloison de confidentialité - a été construit au début des années 80 pour servir de bibliothèque communautaire privée et enseigner la lecture.

Venez rester là où le rythme est détendu, l'air de la montagne remplit vos poumons et votre âme, et où les grenouilles et les lucioles jouent nocturnes depuis votre terrasse privée près d'un ruisseau de montagne.

Situé à 800 mètres de la forêt d'État Holmes et à moins de 8 km de la forêt de DuPont. Idéalement situé entre Hendersonville et Brevard, et à seulement 15 minutes de Flat Rock, Pisgah Forest, et de nombreuses autres attractions de montagne populaires.

Hidden gem in the mountains

The cabin was cute! Loved the hot tub and fire pit! Beds were comfortable! We found everything we needed to cook! We even lucked up and got to see the blue ghost fireflies!

Terrific Girls Getaway

My daughter and I had an amazing time in Hendersonville! The cabin was ultra peaceful, and we adored the cats and dogs on the property. The furniture was cozy, and it was nice having everything I needed to cook meals in the evening. Being so close to DuPont State Forest was icing on the cake - the waterfalls were stunning! We enjoyed brunch at Hen Dough, frozen custard at Whit’s, and flower picking at Johnson Family Farm, all of which are nearby.

A fun girls weekend away!

We absolutely loved our stay at the 1940’s Barn in Mountain Cove!! For a group of 4 it was perfect. The cabin was super clean, comfortable, cute and exactly what we were looking for. The hot tub was just a minute walk down the driveway and was enjoyable. The fire pit was fun to gather around in the evenings as we listened to music and talked. The owners did not bother us once and were right there if we needed anything. It was so tranquil with the constant sound of trickling water in a small stream to relax you in the woodsy environment. The location was perfect as it was a short drive to everything we wanted to do. I can’t wait to go back and have a relaxing weekend again.

Cute Cottage

Great location between Hendersonville & Brevard, with a short travel to Asheville. We really enjoyed our stay. Only bummer was the bed was not comfortable at all. But otherwise it’s a great stay and great location.

Wonderful Cabin Retreat

This is a very well appointed cabin with all the comforts of home including a stocked kitchen, wifi, streaming services, outdoor dining and recreation areas . The proximity to the Dupont State Park and it's three beautiful waterfalls cannot be beat! The owners were friendly and responsive communicators. We will be back.

The most magical cabin!

I honestly cannot stay enough good things about this beautiful cabin and property! The beds are insanely comfortable, and the layout was perfect for my small son and I! The owners were so kind and thought of EVERYTHING! I forgot a few small toiletry items when packing and the desk in the closet had any common item you could think to need! My 5 year old played with the dogs and kittens both days ALL day, and was genuinely devastated to leave! The cleanliness is on another level and the property was SO safe! We are already checking out calender to add several days to come back! We didn’t even use the hot tub or fishing pond because we ran out of time, but can’t wait to use both upon return! If you want a beautiful spot in the mountains that feels like a spa- do not hesitate to book!

Amazing! Book it now!

Our stay at the Acorn surpassed my expectations. The property owner made the check in clear and easy, which was wonderful after our 8 hr drive. There was a personalized message for us when we arrived, and the cabin was clean and so very cozy. The pics do not do it justice! the decor is so cute, the beds all super comfy, and a great layout for family. We settled right in and right from the start it just felt like home. Everything we needed was on hand and Donna checked in via text regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The fresh eggs were delicious. Great location too, close to everything we wanted to see. If we could move into the Acorn we would in a second! We got to chat with Donna and Keith and they a the sweetest people ever (cute dogs and kitties too) Definitely plan on booking again.

New Years in the Holler

We were looking for a New Year's getaway in the mountains and found the Acorn. It was perfect for us Close! Close to everything, just enough space for us, had all the amantes we needed, and Debbie and Keith were awesome!! Get some of Keith's peanut brittle if you can! I would highly recommend this for a mountain get away to rest and relax and recharge.

Love at first sight

We fell in love with this cabin on first sight. Immaculate, with a fully stocked kitchen and absolutely heavenly queen bed and pillows. We loved the way the cabin was decorated. and immediately felt at home. We were able to prepare most of our meals there. We also liked having the owners and their two dogs close by. The owners were friendly but also respected our privacy. Very convenient to hiking and the DuPont waterfalls. We were sad to leave and hope to be able to return next year.

Hidden gem

We absolutely LOVED our stay! The cabin and set up was even better than the pictures. Everything is well stocked. They left fresh chicken eggs for breakfast and wrote a personalized welcome message for us. Plenty of toiletries, towels, and more. Our family of 5 fit comfortably. Owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our kids loved watching and playing with their dogs, cats, chickens, fish. There is a cute outdoor fire pit with hanging lights. It is also close to restaurants, orchards, and downtown. We can’t wait to come back for another visit!

Lovely little cabin

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely little cabin. It had a rustic appeal to it. It was well-stocked, well-organized and clean. It had everything we needed. It was close to the places we visited like Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Caesar Head, Triple Falls and Asheville. The owners were very nice and responsive to our questions. Loved the fresh eggs and s’mores kit (which we weren’t able to use due to the rain). We highly recommend this place and we’d love to come back in the future!

Stay at Barn in Mountain Cove

We had a wonderful stay at Donna's Cabin. It is beautifully decorated and she had provided every possible amenity. Every where we looked was a beautiful view. I highly recommend Donna's Cabin in the stupendous Blue Ridge Mountains!

Lovely as always!

Our third stay here and great stay as usual! Small but beautiful barn turned into a cabin. Perfect for couples! Nice place to wake up and plan your day and then to relax after a long day of hiking and brewery/winery hopping! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful property and hosts!

Donna and Keith are awesome hosts! The Acorn exceeded our expectations. We had a quick stay on our way to a back packing trip around Shining rock Loop and wish we had more time! We intend to come back and spend more time here to really enjoy what this property has to offer!

Great Getaway

The cabin was adorable, comfortable and all we needed. We arrived in the dark and in the snow. The location is beautiful. I am planning to come back when it's warmer to use the firepit, etc.

Fantastic Cabin

We had an excellent time. Loved the property and thoroughly enjoyed the pond, paddleboat, animals, creek, location, diffuser with large selection of aroma therapy essential oils. We arrived to find fresh eggs and Brownies waiting upon arrival. Owners are kind, easy going, gave us complete privacy. Promptly answered all questions. Will return!

We absolutely loved staying on this property. It was quaint and had so much personality. The small personal touch’s made it feel so welcoming that we could have stayed for weeks! We know where we are going the next time we come to this area - The Acorn hands down!!

The Acorn Cabin exceeded our expectations! It was the perfect place to spend the weekend with my family. The cabin is so charming and very well appointed. The hosts were wonderful and my children loved exploring the property. We will definitely be back!

Could not have been better!

You better like dogs and cats! Because you will be greeted by 2 very friendly dogs! Keath and Donna were wonderful host! The cabin was spotless and well stocked. Even fresh eggs and the makings for smoors!

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and now retired.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

As corny as this sounds - we knew the moment we drove up to the property that we were "home", that we were to become the next stewards of this land even before laying eyes on the structures. We had been looking for approximately 15 years for the place we dreamed to have when we were so young. The approach was key - the long winding road into the property had us at "hello", but the other must haves were water - there are two rushing creeks, a pond, and a mountain stream, a guest cabin, and a small main structure, and lots of forest.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The property is located near all the natural mountain attractions: Waterfalls, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, tubing and more. Or should you desire, our little homestead (always a work in progress) is a destination in itself. We're looking forward to making your acquaintance!
