Overall, this was a great place to be for multiple months as my family transitioned to Pennsylvania.
The rooms were spacious, the couch is incredibly comfortable and the proximity to downtown cannot be matched!
Our stay was good everything was clean and comfy the communication with property manager was good she answered quick when you write to her I would definitely come back with my family
We enjoyed the stay. It was a nice house with plenty of room for six people and two dogs. Would have liked to have known that the yard was not accessible from the house.
Accomplished our mission, my husband's bucket list. Has bad health he wanted to visit with church friends and family he very happy to be there. Lauren was an excellent host. I'm ready to go back to her home!
Everything was wonderful with exception to comfortability of the beds and couches. Would suggest getting them replaced but overall experience was great. Host was wonderful to work with and responded to our needs very quickly.
We enjoyed our four nights at the property. Parking was typically available out front, and there was a parking space in the back alley if needed. The house was cute, and was a typical historic row house in Lancaster - great wood floors, and the kind of trim work you don't see in modern houses. The hosts were quick to respond when we reached out a few times, and the description was accurate. My teenagers enjoyed the stay, and one of them said they'd be happy to live in a row house like that! We found it easy to visit our two families who live in Lancaster, and it's close to so many of the great spots in the City. We appreciate dog-friendly hosts, and our dogs were welcomed here! Thanks for a great stay!
Rented this for almost 3 months. There are a lot of issues with this property that should be considered before renting. The front stoop is 3 tall steps, no railings. 3 stories, no bathroom on main floor. 2nd floor is 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath. The toilet is very short and stuck between a wall and the pony wall for the tub- very cramped! 3rd floor 2 more bedrooms and a full bath. The shower doesnât work - it comes on, runs a minute and then goes to just a trickle of water.
The house is absolutely filthy, there is grime and dust on everything. The kitchen counter is gummy - we couldnât get it clean and had to keep it covered.
Thereâs a washer\dryer but they canât be used at the same time.
There is a significant infestation of mice. Called owner repeatedly, this was never taken care of. Parking is complicated. Supposed to be a space behind the house in an alley, but there is no lighting, only useable by smaller cars and was taken by other cars. Street parking is available but not usually close to the house - you may need to walk a block.
Part of the house is closed off, there seems to be an apartment attached. There is a sign inside on a door saying itâs for access from the apartment and not to lock it. It was usually quiet from that side but pretty rowdy a couple of weeks. The street noise is an issue if you use the bedrooms at the front of the house - cars, people, music etc⊠and the street lights keep the bedroom lit, no curtains.
If youâre broke and desperate -itâs cheap.
Weekend getaway: cute "old" house in Lancaster. Mostly walkable town, if you drive and park downtown. House is spacious, lot of room in bedrooms. Beds are ok. Third floor is chilly, however, there are heaters in each room, and please understand this house is over 100 years old! Think of the 3rd floor for children, low ceilings in bathroom shower/ shower head. I wish each room had a place to put a suitcase other than floor. There are no mirrors in bedrooms, only in bathrooms. Kitchen butcher block counters are stick, no amount of scrubbing fixed it. I did message the owner when Wifi wasn't working and they fixed it the next day. This house is quaint, good for families with kids for a vacation, good value for price. Adults are better on second floor, as the stairs are narrow. The couches in living room are very low and uncomfortable to sit on as the cushions sink down like the springs are broken so we all sat on a pillow to boost us up a bit while watching our movie in evening. I believe all landlords need to actually stay in the rental to get a feel for what renters are talking about. Over all it is a good rental and the landlord is responsive.
It was dingy, needed repairs and a deep clean. We were in the area for a medical procedure that happened to fall over the 4th of July weekend. Be forewarned if you're staying in that area over 4th of July. Of course I expected some fireworks. I live downtown adjacent in my hometown so thought I had an idea of what to expect but this neighborhood was setting off fireworks loud enough to sound as if a gunshot was being fired in the front yard ...repeatedly...until 2:00 a.m..... four freaking nights in a row. My daughters recently rescued dog was with us. He would have been fine but the fireworks put him over the edge. He broke out of his crate and caused some damage to the home. Thankfully we had purchased insurance so it covered the cost of the damage. I would have paid out of pocket otherwise because I did feel responsible. The dog ruined two carpets, had diarrhea inside and out. We were so exhausted by the end of our stay with sleepless nights and frantic dog that we couldn't clean all the diarrhea outside in the yard. We cleaned up inside though. Contacted the owner and let her know of the damage and have used our insurance to reimburse the owner. Overall, it's hard to feel too bad about it when the house itself was in such disrepair and the neighborhood was terrible. Lots of yelling and angry voices etc. If you're looking for a cheap stay, don't mind it being dingy, don't mind the crappy neighborhood and are looking for a large, cheap, dog friendly place. I'd say go for it. It wasn't great but depends what your priorities are. Regardless, I would avoid 4th of July.
Came to move our son into school. Location was fine, house was fine. Floors, doors, and beds creaked quite a bit so if someone got up while you were sleeping you knew it. There is a mail sticking up from Kitchen floor which 2 of us got caught on (you are asked to remove shoes). Kitchen counters could use some love; butcher block is extremely sticky. The house served its purpose for us - nothing terrible, nothing spectacular. I would suggest using a free/clear detergent when washing sheets and towels that are provided as some people (like myself) have allergies to scented detergent.
This property was in a great location! Old building, but kept up well and clean. Beds werenât as comfortable as Iâd like, but for a few nights, they were fine. Would suggest upgrading the couch as well - very uncomfortable!
Great vrbo for the price!
We didn't know ho to work the TV's and there were no instructions. Weak Wifi. need a railing outside on the steps. Need light out front and better lighting in the yard. Should disclose how many steps were involved. The railing was loose by the steps which caused a handicap person to fall down the steps. There is a dip in the floor by the washing /dryer machine. The Kitchen was nice and roomy.
As described; central to downtown Lancaster. Very easy to get from there to anywhere with GPS. clean, well supplied, quiet, with two bedrooms and a full bath on both the second and third floors. We recommend it. Pet friendly, although as it turned out, we didn't bring pets anyway. No problem with parking, and one off street space is available. I'd stay there again, even tho the wifi was a tiny bit weak.
we enjoyed our stay and felt it was nice enough for a long weekend stay with pets. Kitchen was in good shape, spacious and well-furnished, and the living room was nice with high ceilings, but in need of new couches. Internet could use an upgrade, but we were able to stream Netflix, etc. The yard was convenient, just a few feet from front door to a side entrance and a fenced in yard. Late August heat wave made 3rd floor somewhat uncomfortable and the yard could use a good fumigation of gnats. Overall we were pleased with the property.
We loved the house! Plenty of space and very clean and well stocked. The only issues for me - the listing was not forthcoming about a few things. All bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs! I am semi handicap with really bad knees and this was very hard for me. I should have asked I guess but I think it should be on the listing. Also, we didnât ever get the code to get in and we had to wait for about 20 minutes with 5 kids needing to use the bathroom and needing in at 9:30 at night. Lastly, there was no entry from the back where we were told to park. Has to carry everything thru the owners backyard around the house to get in. Very inconvenient. The owners live on the backside⊠also not listed. So to use the yard the kids had to go outside on the street and walk around back. Just some details I think should be listed on the ad. Overall, we did love the property. It was a very nice house.
We enjoyed our stay at this home. The owner was very easy to work with. We had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi was weak but other than that there were no issues. I would definitely stay again.
The house is dated and in need of some TLC and updating.
We loved the fact that we had our own rooms and 2 full baths. We were disappointed when we attempted to use the Kerig machine; the top of it appears dirty and will turn you off - bring your own. The bed in the first bedroom makes noise when you move which caused my friend to move to the upstairs bedroom. There are seasonings in the cabinets. I'm not sure if they're for guests; some have exceeded their expiration dates. The wi-fi was weak on all of our systems but we managed. The neighborhood seems quiet and mixed and that made us happy.
Our hostess responded quickly to all inquiries, before and after our stay.
This was our very first VRBO experience. The real question is would we stay again; probably not. It was a great starter experience but we want a little more.
Our home is over 100 years old and has lots of character. The yard and patio are a nice bonus during good weather. It's only a 20 minute walk to downtown.
