The home location was perfect for all the best spots to visit on Bar Harbor and Acadia. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials and clean. Added bonus was having morning coffee with a mamma deer and her fawn.
The house quickly became home, nestled in the woods where the deer stopped by twice daily. In addition to being very clean, the kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals. Beds were comfortable, and it was oh so quiet at night. Although the home is secluded, the location is perfect for access to shops, restaurants, and Acadia National Park. There are games, puzzles, and best of all, a washer and dryer. Romantic, yet child friendly--a great home away from home
What an awesome home!! Great location for visiting Acadia National Park (20 - 25 minutes to Cadillac Mtn) Bar Harbor is also easy access (25 mins), Southwest Harbor is great spot has some nice little shops and places to eat ( we enjoyed pizza from Little Notch Bakery that was excellent! And had a great night eating at Beals Lobster Pier, which was our favorite!) Hot tub was nice to come home after a day at that park! Enjoyed watching the deer walk in front the house every morning and evening! Excellent hosts with great communication and such a great home! Thanks for sharing it with my family!!
My family had a fantastic time in Southwest Harbor. We think Southwest Harbor is the best area to stay in if you're going to Acadia Nat'l Park. It is very easy to access all parts of the park from the house. The house is convenient to groceries, shops and restaurants. The house is close to everything, but tucked away. It's quiet, private, and serene. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and utensils which made it easy to eat in if we wanted. Buy coffee for a drip-style coffee maker. There are filters at the house. The hot tub is wonderful. It was perfect on a cool evening after hiking in the park. The lay out of the house worked very well for my family. The three bedrooms allowed adults and kids to have their own space. The decorations are tasteful and fit the coast of New England. We enjoyed the great selection of books. We felt very lucky to have found this house for our time in Maine.
The house had all the right amenities for a vacation - comfortable beds, a large dining table, plenty of games, spacious outdoor area, a lovely hot tub, and a whitetail doe that visited us each morning. Perfect home base for exploring Acadia!
This was an amazing place. On the quiet side of Acadia but easy to get to the park. We saw deer every day and really enjoyed sitting outside every night. The beds were comfortable with outlets at every bedside; kitchen was easy to prepare meals, house was very clean. We loved every day here!
Location was woodsy, attractive place and nice. Everything functioned super-well, including WI-FI and kitchen appliances, even both Keurig or drip pot coffeemakers. Decor was lowkey with furniture that is comfortable and simple . Plenty of indoor and outdoor space to stretch out, have a larger group. Dining table chairs were functional but not comfortable at all, some kinda saggy. Bathrooms also functioned great but upstairs one needs renovation And ownersâ note indicated it is âon the listâ. Double sink would be nice, better shower. Large new glass double shower in main floor bath was impressive, and maybe great for a romantic couple or group of kids to shower together, but not so great for a solo good hot, vigorous shower. We really appreciated fire pit with firewood ready to go! Acadia & local papers provided were also nice. It was apparent the owners think about the comfort and convenience of guests and provide for it.
The home was lovely, nice big table for my family to gather. Also lots of seating in living room for us to sit and chat. Peaceful outdoor location. But easy access to sites of interest. My family enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking at Acadia National Park.
We loved staying at this house! House was very clean, stocked with all your needs. Beds were very comfortable, and the house has plenty of space to spread out. The outdoor area was quiet and relaxing and the hot tub was a huge hit after a day of hiking. The host was very quick to respond.
Stayed for a wedding nearby. This setting was wonderful, tucked in the Maine forest. The deer were in the forest around us on many occasions. The house is very open and roomy with a cabin vibe: large granite fireplace, lovely antique furnishings. The bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable . It met all our needs.
I was very pleased at how clean the home and hot tub were! Very relaxing stay and close to everything you could want with Acadia. Host was also very responsive to messages!
The property and house were exactly like we were looking for and the perfect location! Everything looked exactly as pictured and described. We did have deer in the yard a few times early in the morning and later at night (and even a skunk)! At the end of the day we wanted to be away from all the crowds. We spent 5 days here, spent lots of time in Acadia and even traveled up to Cutler and Lubec for a day trip (just a short 2 hour drive). Thom was very responsive and over all a great host. The hot tub had broken just before we arrived but he was on top of it. He was able to get someone out to the house to fix it prior to our stay ending.
We loved our time at this home on the quiet side of Acadia National Park. The house is secluded and quiet - a nice getaway from the crowds on the other side of MDI. But it was also just a quick drive to everything downtown Southwest Harbor has to offer. The house was very clean and spacious. The outdoor grill and hot tub were awesome amenities!
The home was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space for my 2 college aged children, my husband and I to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked and the homeowner even left us a cooler when I had asked if there was one to use for picnics. We saw several deer in the yard and enjoyed bird song throughout the day. The location was great for getting around to everything we wanted to see.
The home was large and spacious and very well stocked. The location was secluded and private with deer meandering around the lovely landscaped yard. Thom, the host was very accomamodating and responded to all questions. I would definitely recommend this property.
We recently stayed at this house and had an overall good experience. The kitchen refrigerator that looked like it was straight out of Star Trek, which was quite impressive and added a modern touch to the space.
The main floor bathroom was updated, nice large shower which worked great. However, this bathroom has a child-sized toilet, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
There was a heatwave during our stay so a downside was the air conditioning. Only two of the bedrooms had window AC. The room with two beds did not have any AC, the window screen was torn, so we couldn't open the window for some fresh air. But oscillating fans were provided (no ceiling fans) in each bedroom. The living room does have a good celing fan.
The location is quite secluded, which is perfect if you're looking to get away from it all. However, be aware that there are no TVs in the bedrooms. The main floor has a very small TV with no cable, but it does have internet streaming access if you provide your own streaming account.
The hot tub was clean and working great, and the fire pit was fantastic for evening gatherings. Having on-site laundry was also a great convenience. The upstairs bathroom, while not updated, was completely satisfactory. Additionally, the lawn and landscaping were well maintained, which added to the overall pleasant ambiance.
The house is about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor, and Southwest Harbor is very close by with restaurants and a great ice cream shop called Salt Shop.
