Loved staying at the "Barn". The home was very comfortable, and provided the perfect space for us as we enjoyed the holidays with family who live in Durango. The location is a perfect mix of closeness to town and the ski slopes while still feeling remote.
Met all our expectations. Not too far from town but far enough to get away. Love all the extra touches we found upon arrival. Would definitely recommend and if in the area again top on my list for accommodations.
We enjoyed every day at the Barn. The home was well appointed with all the necessary amenities. We loved the view from the porch and the quiet of a rural setting. So cozy for two and our dog. Thank you for making the Barn a home away from home.
This is a really exceptional location, lodging, and owner. As soon as we got home, we sent the link to several friends. 5 / 5, would recommend and will return.
What a great property! We absolutely enjoyed our stay. We found ourselves outside quite a bit enjoying the property and surrounding views. Inside it was stocked with everything we needed and was laid out efficiently. I think the only downside was both beds were quite squeaky- we all apparently move a lot in our sleep.
The property is located just out of town so it was pretty quiet but it was close to anything you would need. We used the covered tennis court to practice pickle ball every morning. We used the grill almost every night. It was nice to sit on the porch, enjoy the sunrise, sunset and the trains in the distance.
The property is located just out of town, but close enough to enjoy all that Durango has to offer. The house and property are very well maintained with all the amenities for a very welcoming and comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend for a couple or small family. Our Labrador loved the property and we felt very comfortable allowing her to roam freely on the property under our supervision. Had four to six Mule deer visit almost every morning of our stay.
We would like to thank you for our visit to the Barn House. It was a lovely house and the property was amazing. We not only enjoyed the house, we loved Durango and the state of Colorado. Hopefully we will be back soon!
We visited while in Durango for Skiing at Purgatory and enjoyed the location (RT250 about halfway between town and Trimble Rd. Note at Trimble Rd/RT550 there is a great small gourmet market, PJ's that is worth the stop) a very quiet location in the Animas river valley. This is a country road so pretty quiet with many horse properties along the route, as well as deer and elk at the right time of year.
We had our dogs with us, and there was a bit of yard behind the gate for convenient outside time as well as walks along the road.
The cabin is modern, very very clean, and the property manager easy to work with and responsive. All the pictures accurate, and the facing of the property gets lots of light with some views across the valley. We like this location because of the quiet and ease of getting to Purgatory for skiing and into town for dinner (Animas Brewing is more of a local place, with good food and a nice variety of non-IPA beers). If you want a dog-friendly patio, Ska brewing usually allows dogs on the patio, and has a pretty friendly afternoon crowd.
Beautiful location. Dog friendly , everything we need as far as cooking was available. C!ean, cozy and close to hiking trails, downtown shops and restaurants.
Overall good. Place is great for two people. pets and children need close supervision outside due to no gate and is on a county road with traffic and no access to take walks or hike which was a disappointment for me. Expect to drive. I did use the tennis court to exercise a couple times. Very little space for storing personal items like clothes and luggage etc. fireplace did a fantastic job heating the place and it is well insulated. Beds are very comfy. Deer come to eat the apples that fall off the trees which is fun to see. Lana is very nice and responds promptly to messages.
The Barn was the perfect property for me, my spouse, and our two pups. The grounds are so well kept, and inside we had all the comforts of home ⊠we loved it! The views are incredible and the location was just right ⊠just a few minutes drive into downtown Durango, but away from it all. We could see the stars at night and hear the crickets chirping. It was bliss! We will definitely seek out one of Lanaâs properties if we ever come back that way! She is an excellent hostess!
The Barn was perfect for me and my little dog. Quiet, and gives a feeling of being in the country, yet still close to town and activities. Lana and her family could not be nicer. There is clearly a reason why she is a âPremier Host.â Overall, a very comfortable stay. Looking forward to a return.
We enjoyed our time here so much! The house had everything we needed and was the prefect place for my little family of four to reconnect and make some magical memories. Lana and her family were so sweet and accommodating! We would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the Barn with my Dad while exploring Durango for the first time. The space is great, as advertised, and was spacious enough for both of us to have privacy. The location was perfect, as we ventured into town and into the mountains, and it is convenient to both. The place is quiet and the owners are responsive, easy to deal with, and keep it spotless- they even cleared the drive and walkway of snow and ice! The scenery and wildlife is stunning - we saw many bird species in the mornings and so many deer! This place is a gem!
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the Barn! The home was clean and cozy, and the kitchen was well stocked with the essential utensils. The location was very convenient, just outside of town. We will definitely stay here again!
We stayed at the Durango Barn and loved everything about it. It was very clean and well appointed. The grounds were lovely with a tennis court, apple orchard and stream with occasional ducks sighted. The location is very convenient.
What a great place. Fall colors were spectacular. Weather was perfect. Lana was always easy to reach and helpful. Small herd of dear right in the yard made our son very excited.
Thank you Lana.
Thirty years ago my husband and I moved to Durango, CO and have never looked back. We started a vacation rental business in 2003, with only one vacation rental. Over the years, we have acquired 5 other rentals. My goal as a host is to make sure that your stay is memorable. I hope that you will fall in love with Durango the way that we did many decades ago, and will continue visiting us like many of our repeat guests.
