We had a great time! Jeff was easy to communicate with and accommodating to our group. While the property is beautiful, folks should know you cannot swim at the dock. We did rent a pontoon which provided lots of swimming opportunity and fun! Thanks again for a great stay!
Jeffâs property fit my group of 16 friends comfortably! There was some plumbing issues throughout the hot weekend but Jeff was quick to come and fix the issues. The property provided lots of fun things like kayaks, which my group enjoyed!
We spent a long weekend at this property in July. The communication with Jeff was excellent. He provided lots of information on things to do in the area, including the ski show which we enjoyed. We were also lucky enough to stay on a weekend where there were fireworks on the lake. We will definitely consider again for our annual family trip!
The house on Lake Elizabeth was wonderful. We had a total of 12 family members join us for a mini-vacation. We rented a pontoon boat from Twin Lakes Boat Rental, which added to the fun. The house was very nice with plenty of room for all of us and plenty of extra "toys," such as bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, pool table, etc. Jeff was very responsive to my questions and he gave us good suggestions on things to do and places to visit.
This is a great place for large groups. Numerous beds, lots of areas to hand out, pool table, ping pong table, outdoor area. Very well kept property. Would highly recommend.
We were looking for a place that would be comfortable for our extended family of 12 and this worked out great for us! There was plenty of space and a variety of things to do. We hope to come back!
We had a group of 16 young adults. There was plenty of space for all of us. The house was stocked with plenty of cooking utensils. And it is in a very pretty spot near the lake. And Jeff was super responsive giving us all of the information that we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. Jeff was a wonderful host, always going the extra mile. The only suggestion we have would be to mention the potential for noise from the neighboring property in the future. Despite that, we had a relaxing time and recommend it!
Very much liked the house. It was more than large enough to handle our big group. There was a lot of games and activity's to do there. Which was great because we didn't leave all week end. Jeff was a great host. Already planning our return trip next year!
Photos and description are misleading.
The home was not clean inside or out.
Outdoor furniture was broken and rusty.
Outdoor cushions were dirty and moldy.
The pier was not stable.
OVERALL VERY DISAPPOINTING
Rented this home for the weekend and it couldn't have been more perfect! Great private location on beautiful Twin Lakes, big spacious rooms and great indoor and outdoor space to hang out! Owner is VERY helpful and responsive and has done a tremendous amount of work to the beautiful deck overlooking Twin Lakes and a brand new dock out to the water! Overall a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to rent again!
It was my first try with homeaway and this was the best house iâve ever stayed at! The house is located in a very peaceful estate and it was the perfect pick for a reunion with my large group of friends. The house has everything that youâd need for a comfortable stay. The host was very helpful and was very quick in answering all our questions and made sure that we had a great time. If you have a large group and are looking for a peaceful getaway by the lake, look no further!
I wanted to give 4.5. The communication was excellent, the place was nice. We enjoyed kayaking. Overall the place was good. We stayed there for 2 nights. The only thing i wanted to mention was that the fridge was not working properly. But when i mentioned that to the owner, he let us use the other fridge that has his food. The owner said he is going to get someone to fix the fridge. If he get that fixed, i would give him 5/5.
PS: Somebody from my group forgot their glasses at the house. Jeff was kind enough to mail it back to us. Thanks Jeff
We loved all the room! We had 11 of us and had more than enough comfortable and private sleeping areas. Three bathrooms were also very appreciated. The kids (mostly teenagers) loved the dorm-like situation in the basement away from the adults. The large kitchen was awesome for all the food prep, the cupboards could use a little reorganization but Iâm sure thatâs difficult to maintain with guests coming and going all the time. The kayak was put to good use daily for some evening fishing. Jeff was very helpful, accommodating and accessible. The house was well stocked with supplies (towels, paper products, blankets, soaps etc). I took one star off for the rusty water, which isnât anyones fault. We just bought bottled water to drink and cook with. This lake home was a great place for our family gathering and would consider it again.
From start to finish, this was an awful experience. The owner calls at all hours and doesnât respect time zones. Even though a cleaning fee is paid at the time of booking, upon arrival, guests can expect to find a note telling them that they must remove all of the bedding, vacuum all of the carpets, wipe everything down, and walk trash a decent way to the dumpster. Carpet is dirty, another review mentioned this. The hot tub can hold 2 people. The biggest issue was that my cousin broke out in what could be either bed bug bites (owner admitted to only washing the sheets and not the comforters) or too much bromine in the hot tub.
I have provided detailed feedback to the owner about our recent stay at his lake house. He responded promptly and expressed commitment to making necessary adjustments. Here are a few things to note for future guests:
Refrigerator didn't cool enough, causing food spoilage. Owner allowed us to use his personal refrigerator, but it lacked space. Confirm issue is resolved before booking.
Don't be surprised if you see a note instructing you to take used garbage containers out to the street before checking out. Pushing loaded containers uphill was burdensome. I believe this task should be included in the cleaning fee.
Ensure the patio deck, outdoor furniture, and grill grates are clean if you're planning to use them. They weren't ready for us, and we ended up cleaning. The bug zapper was also broken.
Water had a strong rusty smell, a concern for children. Bottled water used for brushing teeth. Showering was unpleasant due to the smell.
Couldn't use fire pit or enjoy outdoor area due to mosquito attacks. Spraying environmentally safe mosquito control before guests arrive could help address this issue.
We believe this lake house has potential for a wonderful experience. Hope the owner seizes this opportunity to enhance future guests' stay.
We rented the house on July4th weekend. 4 families with kids. We loved the idea of 5 bedrooms so we can all have our own bedroom And the kids their own. But we were very disappointed. When we arrived the house was so so cleaned. We found on the floor snoring patches, and one of the bathrooms the sink was not cleaned. But this was not the real problem. The problem was the number of the bedrooms. This house will be beautiful for a 3 BEDROOMS HOUSE not 5!!!! The 3 bedrooms are great. The 4th one is the one with the bunk beds and is located in the basement. When we checked it out that rooms was freezing!!! We opened the window and was still super cold because of the ac being in the next room plus the walls are cement not drywall. So we end up putting the kids to sleep in the living rooms. And let me say about the 5th bedroom. Is a WALKING CLOSET!!!! I could not belive my eyes. How can someone advertise 5 bedroom house including a walking closet with SHELVES!!!!!!! So we call yhe owner and told him about the situation. His response about where should we sleep was: i can bring you air mattresses so you can sleep in the basement were is the heating/ac system ( the game room). We were shocked! We are all families with kids taking a 4th of July vacation not a spring vacation.
He was kind of rude saying that we can go if we are not happy and he will refund the money and we should go and rent something else. Where can we find something elseon 3rd of July??
The place is not lake front as well. Is close to the lake but not lake front. You have to walk on a path with cattails plants from the house to the lake. the deck itself is small, you can fish from it and that is it. plus the deck was broke and unsafe, he came next day to fix it. So if you have small kids like we did is not the best. Has no lake front so you can't sit and enjoy and watch the kids play at the water. That was fine as well ...the beach is 1 mile away and we really enjoyed it. We all left one day before because everyone was super tired. We were promised the cleaning fee back for all the inconvenience ...we will see
Last sentence: maximum occupancy for this property is 10 with the kids in you room
Ooo and the couch in yhe living was covered with a blanket. I have pictures!!! The couch was horrible. Original color is red and all the sides and some of the sitting area were brown from over used!!!!
Jeff provided great communication and house well stocked with everything from paper towels to bath towels, games, fire wood, bug spray.... We felt welcomed before we arrived. The house is tucked away in a quiet space with plenty of room in the driveway for our 6 cars. It could probably fit a few more.
The beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows available along with extra sheets and towels. The deck was shaded and the Blackstone grill came with extra propane.
We really enjoyed the great room with the big couch and dining room table. Plenty of room to visit and move around freely.
We rented a pontoon boat that was delivered right up to his dock which was extremely convenient. The lake has a sandbar where we spent time in the water.
We had a great visit and would stay again.
I am an outgoing, impulsive traveler who loves adventure and experiences. I like that this house is so close to Lake Geneva and Chicagoland. What a great get away for our families. We hope you enjoy the place as much as we do!
The sunrises in the morning while reading the paper on the deck is what relaxes me. I love hiking through the woods and getting on the water, mostly with the kayaks. Call Twin Lakes boat rental and Marcus will deliver a boat right to my dock and pick it up when you are done. Reasonable rates too. We recommend Vossel Yoga and Massages for the girls get-aways.
