My husband and I rented the cabin for a long weekend, just the 2 of us. The cabin was perfect for our couple getaway: clean, enough seating, lovely hot tub to soak in under the stars. The owner was very responsive when we called on our way in and had our GPS fail us and put us in the wrong driveway. The local town is very close and had some neat shops any very yummy eats!
The owners were very responsive when I had questions. I was disappointed that the train tracks into town were damaged by the flooding from Helene. Road damage also made the drive to the cabin a bit scary for me. We planned our days carefully to avoid multiple trips out.But the cabin is in great shape and I thoroughly enjoyed being there. It is small. I canât imagine 4 adults staying there. Weâre glad we brought a camping chair for the back deck. The hot tub was great. Thanks!
Very nice cabin! We enjoyed our relaxing stay very much. Penny had everything you could think of. Loved the hot tub even though it was cold. The new heater was wonderful. Road up to the house is steep but our Terrain was able to make the climb with no 4 wheel drive. We would stay again.
Loved the location of this cozy place - secluded and private but close to town for restaurants. Description was accurate and we can recommend for a peaceful stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Miss Joâs cabin.Property was very clean, quiet, and cozy.We had to re-schedule from our original date because of the weather, the owners reached out to us and made that process very easy. The driveway is very steep, which was communicated to us ahead of time. If you have the option of being an all wheel drive vehicle you will definitely want to do that.
It was my second time there, and just as great as I remember it! I definitely recommend if youâre looking for a nice quiet getaway everything was excellent.
Great cabin. Great, secluded location. With nights dipping into the 40s, the hot tub was amazing. I needed a weekend getaway and this cabin is perfect for couples. Everything was comfortable and the provisions were nice. Please note: the last road going up to the cabin is STEEP! Also, do not use GPS. If you take Pearson Fall Road right between the Ivy House and Wildflour Bakery in Saluda, you will find the cabin much easier. It is a long gravel road that turns to a single lane since the floods. Pass through the tunnel and make a left and the cabin is UP the road on the left. This area was hard-hit during Helene and is being impacted by the Polk County fires. However, if you have a chance, please go and support the area with your tourism. Real friendly people there just trying to recover financially from the destruction.

We have lived in Saluda for over 25 years. In the early 70's Robert was Saluda's first health care provider. After serving as the first Medical Director of the Saluda Medical Center he returned to his family occupation and his true passion..flying. His life as an 'ag pilot' has taken the entire family on remarkable journey's across the country for years.
When looking for a place to spend our time, on the rare occasions we were home, we found the property at Sand Cut Pass. Before any structures were placed on the property we used the property as a place to introduce our children to the wonders of camping in the mountains. We set up camp on the banks of the Pacolet River every chance we had. Our son learned how to bathe in the ice cold river water and play 'Pooh Sticks' from the bridge. One of the large rocks in the river is still known as 'Joshua's Rock' in our family. Eventually we put a small cabin up higher on the property so we were less inclined to run back to our home in town. This cabin is now used as a 'caretaker's cottage' In the late 90's came the decision to build 'Crooked Cabin'. The cabin was built out of a 'labor of love'. The cabin was to be built by us but shortly after starting the construction on the cabin Robert suffered a severe accident which prevented him from doing as much work as he would have liked. At that time both family and friends joined in to help complete the construction on the cabin. We have since then enjoyed sharing our retreat with family, friends and our wonderful guests.
The property upon which the cabin is located is protected on all sides which increases the privacy, however, it is less than 5 minutes from I-26 which can lead to a multiple of mountain adventures. With the outside fire pit on the property you can have the feel of the 'great out doors', then relax in our luxurious hot tub on the back deck or retire to the comfort of your cabin. The driveway is steep but 4 wheel drive/AWD isnât required to drive up. Pickups and hybrid vehicles tend to have more trouble with the incline. However, most of our guests manage to drive up without too much difficulty.
