The third floor apartment is charming and in an ideal location. There are a choice of restaurants and a Whole Foods within a few blocks. Ken is a very responsive host. The stairs to the top floor apartment are steep but doable even when carrying groceries.
What a beautiful neighborhood to stay in. We enjoyed our stay in Jamaica Plains. The neighborhood was quiet and had great nearby restaurants. We would stay again.
Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed, conveniently located to groceries, pharmacy, transportationâŠOwner, Ken, with excellent recommendations for restaurants, etc., just very friendly and welcoming. Our first trip to the east coast/Boston from the west coast was wonderful and the apartment had all the comforts of âhomeâ. Great choice for our 8 night stay!
Beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood. Ken, the host, was so easy to communicate with and available for restaurant recommendations and transportation advice. He even helped us carry in our luggage! We had a rental car and no problem parking near the house. Private, lovely home in a vibrant neighborhood.
Minutes to stores and train by foot, nice quiet neighborhood, yard and home
We had a lovely stay. The apartment was well furnished and stocked with essentials. We picked up a few things and ate about half of our meals at the house. Easy access to the train to tour Boston and eat out. We were fortunate to be staying during "Dine-Out Boston" week and we had some fabulous meals with a bit of walking and train riding, since we didn't bother with a rental car.
Beautiful home and garden in a lovely neighborhood. Very private. A small walk up with the luggage, but not a challenge. Ken was a fantastic host. Available, personable and informative, but not overly present.
A perfect get-a way. We would stay here again.
The pictures and reviews are great but this place is even nicer than expected! Ken lives on the second fl with an office on the first. He met me with keys when I arrived and showed me the 3rd floor apt and explained how everything worked. You do want to be able to easily use stairs, though they are nice and wide. Apt has 2 nice size bedrooms and one large bath. The whole unit is beautifully decorated, I would not rec bringing kids here unless they are very well behaved. The apt felt like home as there was not the usual wear and tear or broken items I experience in other vrbo or airbnbs. Jamaica Plain is farther out than I usually stay but I felt safe, and you can uber or easily train downtown, and there a shops and restaurants nearby. I hope to return and stay longer and use the lovely back patio/garden area!
We just spent a glorious week in Jamaica Plain - a leafy Boston neighborhood. The property is a large, 3-story home; the spacious apartment is on the third floor (2 beds 1bath) with a well-equipped full kitchen, and large living/dining room with a solid TV and sound system; you have access to a large and private backyard surrounded (in summer obviously) by trees and sundry greenery. The host is genial and welcomed us with wine, snacks, and helpful local recommendations. Internet was solid. Easily one of the most tastefully decorated places weâve stayed in. Linens excellent and kitchen is well-equipped. The house is a block and a half from any number of trendy restaurants and bars, not to mention groceries, public transportation, etc. Despite the proximity to downtown and city amenities the neighborhood is beautiful and quaint and the home amazingly quiet. The AC units are a bit loud but work well. Highly recommend!
We stayed for a week to attend our daughterâs graduation and to help her move from her apartment. We loved the location - easy access to all events and short walk to downtown Jamaica Plain. Ken could not have been more welcoming - meeting us as we arrived and helping with our luggage. The unit was just as welcoming! The decorating and accommodations were the best we have experienced in our journeys. The few words here cannot capture our feelings about our stay. We highly recommend this to all interested and we will definitely stay here again when in Boston.
My husband and I stayed with Ken for 2 weeks, and our adult son joined us for a long weekend. The apt. was perfect for us! It is beautifully decorated and very spacious. We took advantage of the gorgeous yard, and Ken shared herbs from the garden with us. We took nice walks to Jamaica Pond and the arboretum. Whole Foods is also a close walk which was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.
This amazing apartment is impeccably decorated, filled with natural light, and offers a peaceful outdoor space. It is located in a beautifully restored home, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. Ken is the perfect host, going above and beyond to provide a wonderful experience for visitors. We would happily stay there again!
This is a beautiful apartment located in Stony Brook (also part of Jamaica Plain). It's a very nice, fairly quiet neighborhood with triple decker houses. The Boston transit is about a 7-8 minute walk from the apartment. You'll be on the orange line and get off at Stony Brook. There are a few places to eat close by, and a Whole Foods within walking distance. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, so being able to climb steps is a must. But so worth it once you do. Beautiful hardwood floors, very comfortable furniture and beds. And Ken Dietz, the owner, is awesome! He lives in the same house, different floor, and is available for anything that you need. He even offers suggestions about places to eat or entertainment. Beautiful place that I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
This is possibly the most beautiful, comfortable and clean place we've stayed through VRBO! Ken, the owner, renovated this historic home and has included all the details that make a vacation home special - the beautiful, spacious interiors, the fabulously comfortable beds, the complimentary bottle of wine, snacks and coffee, the bathroom amenities and helpful information about Boston. There are lovely views and light that make the apartment so inviting. Ken was a super host - welcoming, friendly, responsive, thoughtful, helpful, accommodating and kind. Couldn't have been more perfect! We hope to stay here again during our future visits to the area. Thank you so very much, Ken!!!
Ken is a perfect host - personable and there when we needed him but also allowing us a great deal of privacy. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the kitchen is very well equipped and the in apartment laundry room was most convenient. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful and JP is the perfect place to stay. Great access to the MFA, downtown and Brookline and very nice restaurant options as well. We enjoyed our trip and loved the space! Thank you Ken.
I'm midwestern born, moved to the east coast to finish university and fell in love with Boston, the people and the accessibility of surrounding parks, lakes, the cape and islands as well as cities from Vermont to DC. I enjoy hosting travelers who are looking for a convenient and comfortable jumping off point while visiting family, friends or simply working remotely. The nearby Emerald neck Parks system is within a few minutes walk from the house and offers acres and miles of trails and activities to enjoy in any season. My hobbies are hiking, biking, swimming and gardening which hopefully all my guests will be able to enjoy during their stay.
