This place was just what we were looking for. We do a family trip every summer and finding a place for 20 adults, private, and with a private pool can be difficult. We found it at the Lodge at Spring Lake Ranch. Jonathan and the team were fantastic and attended to any of our needs. The lodge was huge and had a very large kitchen, huge dining room, a massive great room that was our party (sound system, lighting) and play (pool table and foosball table) spot each night. We spent a lot of time on the massive patio that had plenty of tables and chairs for all. Also on the patio was a gas grill, hot tub that was attended to each day to make sure the water was safe and appropriate, and a fire pit we used every night. The pool was the best part. Private and large. Plenty of seating and lounge chairs. Again, the hosts checked the water every day and it was super clean as they had machines running every night to keep it clean. Also on the ranch some of our party took horseback rides, some kayaked, others went to the lake and small beach. For us, the country store was just across the street and made it very convenient because we were constantly running over there to get ice. The grounds were great and all around us were horse fields and green fields. Very pretty. This is a rustic, beautiful old lodge. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this isnât for you. To sleep 20 of us, one couple had their own room. We were all family so it was totally fine. It was a great value!!!
My family had a wonderful stay! The lodge was clean, spacious, and had an excellent private pool. With 11 adults and 10 children under the age of 11, it is difficult to find a place to vacation but this was suitable to our needs and we had a blast! Will plan on returning next year.
We had a large group of family and friends visit and stay in the lodge for 3 nights. Everything was very clean. The lodge is an incredible and fun space for all ages. Pros: Large well stocked kitchen with multiple sinks made meal prep easy. The game room in the back was where the kids spent most of their time and they loved it. Plenty of space to all eat together indoors or out. The lake was a big hit. Great fishing docks, kayaks and paddle boats on site for a small fee. The kids loved, jumping off the dock and swimming to the small beach area (kind of Sandy, but rocky so make sure you have water shoes) Itâs just an absolutely gorgeous property for sitting and watching the horses and the cows play. Cons: The 2 bedrooms on the main level were nice and cool, but the 3 bedrooms upstairs were pretty warm. There are a few fans, which were helpful at keeping us cool. Steep spiral staircases are your only access upstairs, FYI. The large gas stove was not working, but there was another electric stove/oven in the kitchenWe were informed a few days before our arrival that the pool was in disrepair and would not be available. We were offered a 20% discount, which we felt was reasonable considering there was another swimming option on the property. Though you will need to pack your things up and drive to the lake, and there were some people in our party that are not ok the swimming in brown water In all, considering the discount we felt happy.
We met up with a few friends who had kids to enjoy a long weekend. The house is spacious with several sleeping spots. The house had lots of ammenities both inside and out, which made the stay very easy and comfortable. We had a lot of fun at the pool, lake, and horseback riding. I would not hesitate to come back in the future!
We really enjoyed our stay. We had a group of 20. Able to sleep comfortably because majority of group were children who took advantage of the twin beds / cots on 2nd level.
Really enjoyed the horse riding. Even got to see them run free on the property on our last morning.
Eager to come back in the summer and make use of the large pool!
Our large family group of 20 had a great time at the ranch. Family of all ages found a wide range of activities to keep busy. We enjoyed the new pool, kayaking & fishing on the lake, billiards, foosball and more. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It was extremely hot the weekend we visited and the A/C had no problem keeping up. We were able to use the upstairs sleeping spaces with no problem. We hope to return again next year!
It was a fantastic retreat. Communication was a bit hard since it could only be done in person at the neighboring country store (some of our VRBO messages didn't get answers). Also we had to buy some of our own cleaning products like paper towels which seemed a bit weird. But the place was fun and had lots to do.
We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. So peaceful and relaxing. The pool was great. Lake was beautiful. Overall we were very pleased with everything. (Minor things - ovens were a little frustrating. May just need more instructions but had some trouble baking things. Needed more trash bags - we used some of our own. Need wash rags for the bathrooms and lots more kitchen towels please!)
We had a wonderful mini-reunion at the ranch and were so impressed with how spacious the house was. With 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, plus extra sleeping space that really makes it 5+ bedrooms, our 4 siblings, spouses, and kids of various ages never felt crowded. The rec room was huge, and the kitchen/dining/outdoor patio spaces were perfect for group gatherings. The private pool was a nice amenity as well, and one suggestion would be to add several umbrellas for shade. We met the owners and the guys taking care of the horses--everyone was so friendly. Our kids really enjoyed being in the country and having animals all around. They thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding too. The docks and gathering spaces at the lake were in walking distance and are very nice too, but we spent most of the time at the house and pool to enjoy family time.
Not enough space to say what I want to say. Upstairs where sleeping accommodations are is disgustingly nasty! Was told by own AFTER paying almost $5k that they are ârenovatingâ. Pool table is old and torn up. Unable to use at all. The swimming pool is old and needs work. The bottom is all scraped and chipped with bugs floating all over. The downstairs interior of the home is pretty and the kitchen was stocked as promised but that was probably the only truth to the description on this site. Not worth the $5k that we paid for our family vacation and if there is any way to get even a partial refund please tell me! Definitely think twice or ask for updated pictures before booking. The promised accommodations was a huge part of why we booked here. Very disappointed.
8 adults & 5 kids age 9-12. So happy with our stay. The kids had an incredible time and we know itâs a trip they will remember forever!
The lodge is spacious with many options for sleeping, dining & entertainment. Awesome kitchen! So many FULL bathrooms! Pool was clean and well taken care of. The kids had a blast at the beach & dock. Beautiful lake for fishing, hiking & kayaking! The store is right across the street from the lodge and was so convenient. Basics items available. Anytime we needed anything (extra towels, soap, etc) we were able to ask for it at the store.
The few things that we did not love were: The bathhouse @ the pool. It was in pretty bad shape & unusable. The pool table is in need of some major TLC. The large commercial stove was unplugged when we arrived, and once we plugged it in, we found out why. The oven part did not turn off without unplugging it.
**the three things listed above we DID NOT bring to their attention. I imagine if we had done so, they may have addressed.
Note: two bedrooms, and the additional sleeping areas are upstairs only accessible by two VERY narrow spiral staircases.
There was a storm while we were there & ALL of Potosi lost power for quite a while! With the generators, free water, ice and quick work from the owners to reroute our fridge to the generator, we felt like the luckiest people in Potosi!
Overall, we loved our getaway at the lodge and were impressed by the responsiveness of the owners. Thank you!
Awesome property. Pool is just steps from house. Lake is short drive (or walk) up the hill. Kitchen is amazing. Dining area was great for our large group. So fun, the kids loved it.
Wonderful experience for 5 familiesâ10 adults and 11 children 6 and under and still felt so spacious. Fantastic space, great pool, hot tub, kitchen, game room, fire pit. Beautiful land and location, such friendly helpful owners.
Fishing, swimming, kayak & canoe availability! Thereâs something for everyone. The Lodge is BEAUTIFUL with a wonderfully appointed kitchen. Thanks for s great memory đ„°
Spacious lodge with private pool and game room. The lake is a short walk and nice docks to enjoy swimming and kayaking. The stocked kitchen, gas grill, and fire pit provide all you need to prepare meals. There is plenty of room and okay beds. The two kings are in the master and the other first floor bedroom has a full and bunk beds. The other beds are up spiral stairs. Rooms have small steps or a few steps as you go room to room. The upstairs air conditioning was not working when we arrived and the owners ensured it was working that night and are very nice. Phone service is spotty. The kitchen and game room is amazing! The lake and docks are beautiful and nice trail around the lake. The private pool is huge and so nice to have a hot tub too! Great family fun with all the room you need and several things to do!
We stayed here with our entire family of 20 (9 adults, 11 kids) for most of a week. It took a minute to absorb the surroundings and uniqueness of the property (it was an old bison ranch) but once we did we had a great time. The lake was beautiful, it was clean spring fed and made for great swimming, kayaking and fishing. We spent the days at the lake and the evenings at the house playing kickball and other games around the property and in the large gathering spaces inside. We used the pool on a busier lake day but the lake was definitely our preference. The property is a cross between modern updates and parts frozen in time from the thriving place it was in its time. There is a history of one of the previous family owners in the library that is definitely worth a read. Plenty of beds for all of us and the kids enjoyed their stay in the loft. The managers were very laid back, accommodating and great to interact with. A unique but wonderful family vacation, weâll be telling stories about it for years to come.
Large open space to relax and explore nature with groups or family as a retreat center. Small family-owned ranch. 60-acre private lake for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Over 20 miles of horseback riding trails, beautiful hiking trails around the lake.
