Charming House Nestled in the Rainforest, 15 Minutes from the Stunning Beaches of Playa Grande, Tamarindo, Avellanas, Playa Negra...
Located in a secure Finca, away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside, the large infinity pool is surrounded by a tropical garden where monkeys reign.
There are 2 large air-conditioned bedrooms with walk-in closets and private bathrooms, plus a mezzanine with a double bed and a single bed. Beautiful rancho. Open-concept living room and American-style kitchen.
The house is built around a spacious living room with a bar and an open kitchen, which connects to the infinity pool through a large rancho equipped with a dining table and sofas. The rancho is the heart of the home, as itâs outdoors, close to both the house and the pool, and offers shelter from the rain if needed.
The house, designed in a tropical Hispanic style, is much sturdier than most constructions typically found in Costa Rica. The thick walls and roof help keep it pleasantly cool during the dry season, minimizing the need for air conditioning (which is available in all rooms).
The two large ground-floor bedrooms, each furnished with massive king-size beds, also open directly to the poolâan especially nice feature. They each have a spacious walk-in closet, a large bathroom, and a private toilet. The mezzanine bedroom does not have its own bathroom.
The kitchen features a large bar and is very well equipped (huge American-style fridge with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, oven, cooktop, full range of dishes, etc.).
The house is air-conditioned, and all openings are fitted with mosquito screens. That said, there are very few mosquitoes in the garden.
The pool is large and includes a beach-like sloping entrance. Teak decks with chairs and sun loungers make this space even more enjoyable.
The surrounding garden is vast (5000 mÂČ) and filled with a variety of trees, flowers, and fruits (lemons, coconuts, bananas). Itâs a regular refuge for many monkeys, which you can often see.
Equipped with a high-speed, always-available Wi-Fi connection, this house and its garden are ideal for remote work in peace and quietâwhile still being able to enjoy Costa Ricaâs most beautiful beaches in the morning, at lunch, in the evening, or on the weekend.
Guests have access to the entire house. It's located in a secure finca (farm) where you can take beautiful walks or go jogging. The environment is very peaceful. You can get around by bike or car. The beaches (some of Costa Ricaâs best) are about 15 minutes away by car or 40 minutes by bike (10â20 km depending on the beach). The first few kilometers are on a well-maintained dirt road.
The property is in a secure finca with a coded gate. The property itself is surrounded by tropical vegetation and enclosed by a fence and gate.
The finca is large and contains about a dozen houses, all well spaced from each other. So youâll enjoy peace and quiet.
The finca is accessible via the main road to Tamarindo. From there, a well-maintained dirt road (about 4 km) leads to the finca. It's easily drivable with a regular car.
The fincaâs location (around 10 km from Tamarindo) allows you to enjoy all the tourist amenities of the Tamarindo area and the most beautiful beaches in Costa Ricaâwhile still being removed from the crowds and noise.
The house is about an hourâs drive from Liberia Airport.
The last 4 km before reaching the house are on a well-kept dirt road (generally speaking, there are few paved roads in Costa Rica, even those leading to the beaches).
You can park on the property, right in front of the house.
The beaches are between 15 and 30 minutes away.
The house is surrounded by tropical rainforest, which is the source of its charm and incredible tranquilityâbut it also comes with some trade-offs.
A dirt road of about 4 km must be taken to reach the house (again, paved roads are rare in Costa Rica). It is, however, well maintained and drivable without a 4x4.
Two types of monkeys live in the finca: howler monkeys, which youâll often see in the trees and hear roaring in the mornings, and white-faced capuchins. Youâll also spot colorful birds of all kinds. Huge cane toads sometimes come to cool off by the pool in the evenings. Brightly colored and unusually large butterflies and caterpillars are also common. There are also all sorts of insects that we try to keep away from the house using natural rather than chemical means (large spiders and ants, tropical bees, etc.). There are very few mosquitoes, and the region is not affected by mosquito-borne illnesses like malaria. All this wildlife is harmless and part of Costa Ricaâs natural charm. No vaccines are required for travel to Costa Rica.
As you can tell, this houseâand Costa Rica in generalâis for nature lovers. If youâre uncomfortable with the presence of insects, this might not be the right destination for your vacation.
The house is currently for sale, so there is a chance that occasional visits by potential buyers may be scheduled. These are rare, and you will be informed ahead of time. You can also request that visits be rescheduled to times that are convenient for you.
