Located very close to downtown and was easy to access main roads. On site off street parking was great. vrbo did not send door and wifi codes, but host promptly provided info and was great communicator.
Perfect space for my husband, mother and I to stay while we visited our daughter. Great, safe location in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to the water. The house is well-equipped with everything you need. Liz quickly responded to all of my messages and made us feel welcome.
The home was clean and everything seemed up to par. Until we entered and experienced a loud buzzing sound coming from an object connected to the wall. We had no way of fixing the issue. The owner was kind enough to have someone come out to try and fix it. But he left and never came back. We were forced to leave after being there apon arrival. And it was my birthday.
Lots of space for my family to stay. There was amenities for babies that was a plus. I just wasn't sure about the floor cleanliness because I have a baby that crawls. Upstairs there is a swing, that wasn't put together, so were nervous about our baby going to that corner. Other than that, having the crib and high chair was helpful.
I'm a Marriott Snob, have been for years will only stay in their hotel umbrellas. This is my very first VRBO and it made me fill at home. I understand that their are many that will not treat a host or hostess homes as their own so small home maintenance is required. A light switch here a towel rack their. A absolutely beautiful stay warm cozy, clean. The host was in point with where to park and responded quickly to the 2 questions I had. I got to 2 great 4 star restaurants in the city in about 7 minutes drive. Thank you for making my visit to this city so cozy. Oh the bed was hard to get out off, as I melted away in its comfort...best sleeping I had in awhile outside my own home in San Diego... Neighborhood safe, clean friendly quite!. I didn't give a five rating simply because I didn't have a VRBO to compare to.. 4.5 is surely possible for this VRBO... Thank you Host.. the vanity mirror in main bathroom was a diamond.. In fact the bathroom was a 5...
We had a hiccup getting inbuy once in, everything was as advertised. I like the color scheme and the placr was just the right size for our family of 3 adults and two little ones. The bathrooms are very update. The only suggestion I would give is more lighting in smaller.bedroom such as a lamp near the bed. It was very dark walking from pole lamp to the bed and a lamp would lend to reading without the whole room lit up. However, minus that, our stay was fantastic!! And, the host was vey responsive.
The host was prompt generally in her responses but they were at times defensive in tone. She did send a delivery of items we could not locate in the unit. There was a considerable snowfall during our stay but no shovel or broom for us to clear the steep steps entering the unit which later became very slippery. On our third day the door lock wouldnât function and stated the battery was low and needed to be replaced. The host suggested in a much later message that we werenât operating the lock properly- a lock we had successfully used for 3 days! We had no internet for the first 24 hours due to a reoccurring outside connection problem. The host told us her staff ensured that all was in working order prior to check in but the technician volunteered that the unit had no internet for the previous 12,days. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher upon arrival. For these reasons and more we are requesting a partial refund of our bill. Yes it was ok but the lack of snow removal equipment resulting in icy steps is a safety issue. That combined with the hosts defensive at times responses- door wonât unlock must be our fault - no internet- staff assured all was in working order - made us feel not like welcomed guests but rather like 3 adults who were slightly incompetent. We would like to discuss a reduction in rate/ partial refund. How do we proceed?
Prior to the stay, I must say that the host was quite accommodating. She answered all my questions in a timely way, and provided necessary information. She really was quite pleasant and accommodating. Upon arrival at the home (it was Thanksgiving Day) I found several concerns. Broken and hanging by a cord kitchen light switch & a broken upstairs banister. There was a "strange smell" throughout the I was unable use the coat closet because it was packed with cleaning apparatus and plastic bags filled with stuff. It was difficult to reach her. I finally contacted Vrbo. They got her to contact me. I made the best of it. Although there were children in my group and I didn't feel comfortable for them to stay overnight as planned because of the broken banister. That said, recognizing it was a holiday, and stuff happens, I thought I'd take it in stride. I suggested an adjustment to the price. I was shocked a week later when she finally answered to say: I already received a holiday discount. Not true. Perhaps it was my Thanksgiving dinner that caused the odor in the home. The light switch was missing a single screw that she fixed the day AFTER my stay. (B4 she said that they were waiting for the "correct" screw (whatever that means). She flatly denied that the banister was broken. I provided pictures. She did not clearly communicate that I would not have access to the back door. As a result, Getting my food & supplies inside was challenging.
