Escape to this hand-built log cabin on the Betsie River in Thompsonville, MI. Enjoy private river access, a dock for tubing, and trout fishing right outside your door. Sleeps 10 with a primary bedroom, loft, and bunk room, plus two bathrooms. Just 10 minutes from Crystal Mountain and 30â35 minutes from Arcadia Dunes and Sleeping Bear Dunes, this cozy cabin is perfectly located for year-round Northern Michigan adventure.
The Space:
Trout. Trillium. Tranquility. This hand-built log cabin sits on the Betsie River with direct access to clear, swimmable water, trout fishing, and tubing from a private river platform. The setting includes mature trees, seasonal wildflowers, and a small creek running through the property.
The cabin sleeps up to 9 guests with one main-level queen bedroom, a main-level bunk room, and an upper-level loft suite. Features include an open kitchen, heated floors, a wood-burning fireplace, and a large shower upstairs.
Families will appreciate the available kidsâ games, books, DVDs, and regional guides for birds, wildlife, and fishing. Please note: there is no dishwasher.
Outside, youâll find a hammock, fire pit, gazebo, and an outdoor shed stocked with lawn chairs and firewood. Crystal Mountain, Lake Michigan, the Betsie Valley Trail, and Iron Fish Distillery are all just minutes away, offering year-round recreation and relaxation.
In winter, enjoy nearby skiing, snowboarding, and fat biking at Crystal Mountain, plus snowmobile access to Benzie Countyâs scenic trail system. After a day outdoors, head back to the cabin to warm up by the fire.
The location also puts you within easy reach of Northern Michiganâs top attractions. Sleeping Bear Dunes is 35 minutes away and offers dune climbs, overlooks, and Lake Michigan beaches. Arcadia Dunes is 30 minutes away with hiking trails and panoramic views.
Rental Policy:
- No smoking or fireworks.
- No events, parties, or gatherings.
- No pets.
- Minimum Age 25 years old.
To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide all reservations with damage protection. The cost for Safely is $49 for 1-29 nights, $249 for 30-59 nights, $319 for 60-89 nights, and $390 for 90-119 nights. All reservations will initially be charged a $49 Safely Damage Insurance Fee. For stays longer than 29 nights, the additional charges will be processed after booking. All reservations are subject to the guest agreement terms, conditions, and fees.
Guest Access:
This property features self-check-in. Check-in is permitted between 4:00 pm -10:00 pm. Guest are responsible for having their check-in instructions before arrival. Check-in instructions are sent after completing our guest check-in form and agreeing to our terms of service. The home's property address will also be sent separately 72 hours prior to check-in.

Guests are provided with a small amount of the basic essentials including 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 laundry pods, 2 dish pods, a full dish soap dispenser, full soap dispensers in each bathroom, and basic cleaning supplies. Guests are not to use the host's inventory of bulk supplies left at the property and should be prepared to supply their own as needed for longer stays.
