Enjoyable stay

Great location, good bit of work being done on the building, pool, etc but little distraction to my enjoyment of the stay. Plan to keep this location in mind for future trips to the area.

The condo was absolutely perfect. Will definitely be back.

The Island Wind West was the perfect place to stay. It was clean and had everything we needed. The view was fantastic. Air conditioning worked wonderfully. The location is he best in the beach. Within walking distance of many great restaurants. One of the best condos we have stayed in. Will be returning.

Great Location on the beach.

This condo was in a great location close to the beach. We had seen some recent reviews saying the king bed mattress needed to be replaced but it was a nice, firm mattress. No complaints there. The couch,however, is kind of on its last legs. We did have one maintenance issue that was promptly addressed when we called. The staff there are wonderful. Very nice and responsive. May seem like a small thing, but the ice maker in the freezer is awesome! Makes ice quickly and plenty of it!

The room was clean and had everything we needed but didn’t impress me. I wish the bedroom was an actual bedroom with a door and not just a separate area. The air conditioning unit was pretty loud but helped block noise from outside. There weren’t any batteries in the TV remotes, which was random and annoying. We did have easy access to the beach and pool.

Nice stay, few things need to be checked on though.

Very short walk to a few restaurants. Great ocean view. The fan above the stove disorder not work. Sofa sleeper is so old that sleeping on it was not an option, you could feel every spring. The king sized bed in our opinion was extremely firm. Some people like a firm mattress though, not us. We went out and had to buy a blow up mattress & put it on top of the bed. For the amount of time your in the room it is nice, just a few things should be looked at and fixed. All in all we would stay again.

Not worth price paid

Very small and outdated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable as was the couch, the fridge had rust on it. In dire need of updating, definitely was not worth $2,000 for six nights. Absolutely no beach towels, beach chairs or umbrella are provided. You had to pay for beach service. It was right on the beach with a nice view of the ocean. Not very many restaurants within walking distance. And there was no bathroom available for use in the pool area.

Switched, but fixed

Went to check in at Brett Robinson, switched the one bedroom condo I rented because a plumbing issue to a dumpy studio. After a few phone calls and asking for a manager at BR, they switched us to a very nice one. Should not be allowed to switch you without talking to you and definitely not to a Jess than desirable one. First time dealing with BR also.

Overall decent stay

The room was exactly as pictured, with a great view of the beach and a boardwalk directly to the beach. They provide one roll of toilet paper, so bring or buy your own. Our A/C went out during our stay, which I had thought it was my doing, so I called the front desk who in turn told me to flip the breaker, but no breakers had been flipped, so someone came and fixed our A/C. Because our A/C went out at 10pm, called at 10:15pm, it did take some time for maintenance to get there (he arrived around 12am), but had our A/C back up and running in about 30 minutes. They provide actual room keys, so keep them with you, as we did accidentally get locked out of our room because the doorknob somehow locked with our keys inside! They also tell you on the refrigerator they don’t have a “maid service” but provide one packet of dishwashing detergent, so bring your own cleaning supplies. We stayed during the week, and it wasn’t super busy but leaving on Saturday, the elevator was BUSY. There was also a parasailing company that provided parasailing as well as chair rentals right on the beach which was nice if you choose to do that. There is also satellite TV in the living room and bedroom.

Great location!!!

New couch and chair in living room. Floor could have been swept and mopped better. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The front desk was very responsive to our call about the bedroom TV not working. Would stay here again Condo had everything we needed. Fantastic location!!

Deck furniture needs replaced. Rusty. Closet has furniture in it. No room for guest’s clothing.

Great Location

Great location, unit could use some upgrades to furniture sofa is pretty rough both to sit on as well as sleep on. Electrical outlets need some attention, only one outlet works in bedroom and living room.

Gulf Shores Getaway

My wife and I had a very nice time in Gulf Shores. We stayed in the Island Sands West, 667. The location and view were awesome! Just like the advertisement. It’s close to a lot of restaurants & shopping. The unit is perfect for 2 people. The unit was very clean. Beach area is very good, not nearly as crowded as other areas were around us. The bed is okay but the couch is very uncomfortable to sit or lay on. Needs to be replaced badly. The advertisement was very accurate as far as bringing your own supplies. They do supply 1 roll of TP, 1-paper towel and 1-dishwasher packet. Ice maker does produce adequate ice and their are basic Kitchen utensils. Overall it was a nice place to stay!

Great location. Needs interior updates NOW!

Great location on beach but this property is in desperate need of interior updates. As stated in previous reviews, the couch and king bed mattress are absolutely "gone" and need to be replaced tomorrow. Would also recommend a new side/club type chair and ottoman for the den. Parking lot was oversold by double the guest vehicles and staff tried in vain to monitor keeping out non-guest pass vehicles. Fortunately, we didn't need to use the fold out sofa bed and were able to walk to places of business. For a couple thousand dollars in furniture investment, this unit could be a 5-star rating, especially for the rental rate charged.

I had to call back to get reservations because I never received 1st email,room was ok but not what I expected,mattress was horrible and couch was very uncomfortable,needs replaced,everything else was nice and staff was very helpful,thanks for the email
