The Goodale Park Modern | 2-Car Garage
Park your car in the attached garage and enjoy the best of Columbus from your home base at The Goodale Park Modern:
✓ Prime location across from Goodale Park (the city's oldest park)
✓ Walk to Columbus Convention Center in 9 minutes, Kemba Live in 11 minutes, or any of the downtown stadiums in < 20 minutes
✓ Luxurious primary bathroom with deep soaking tub
✓ Bright and spacious 3-level home with lots of large windows!
✓ Attached 2-car garage - a premium in this area
The "Modern" draws its name from the home being built in 1993, in the midst of a historic neighborhood, among many grand Victorian homes that were built around the turn of the century. Although the home is about 100 years newer than most of its neighbors, you wouldn't guess it from the brick exterior, with its Victorian-style gables and rounded turret. It stands proudly on a corner lot overlooking Goodale Park.
Sleeping Arrangements - 5 comfortably, 6 if using the couch
3rd floor primary suite: king bed (2) + twin rollaway bed (1)
1st floor bedroom (w/ en suite full bath): king bed (2)
2nd floor living area: couch - please let us know if you plan to use this so we can provide extra sheets and blankets
Garage: the garage will comfortably fit two normal-sized cars or SUVs. The garage is about 19 ft long, so it may be a tight fit for any larger trucks or extended vehicles.
Outdoor Space:
• Covered sitting area on the ground level facing the park
• Patio dining table for four in the front patio
• Propane grill on the 2nd floor balcony
First Floor:
• King size bed. Note - this is technically a "day bed" with a pull-out extension (which makes it into a king size). Most guests prefer the king-size setup (instead of the twin-size couch option) so we'll have it made up for you as a king bed. Please note that it uses two separate twin-size mattresses because of the daybed option (there will be a bit of a soft spot down the middle).
• The bedroom has a full bathroom, en suite!
• Laundry area with washer and dryer is available for guest use
• The cushions for the patio furniture will be stored in the hall closet.
Second Floor:
• Stunning open living / dining / kitchen space with beautiful natural lighting
• Half bath
• Balcony with grill overlooking the park
• Please note that at this time, there is no TV in the second floor living area
Third Floor:
• Primary suite with king bed and a twin rollaway bed (will be stored in closet)
• Smart TV
• Large walk-in closet
• Full bathroom with oversized soaking tub
• Note: for late sleepers or the light-sensitive: there are lots of windows, and while they all have blinds or shades for privacy, they still do allow some light to get through.
You'll have access to the entire home except for a small owner's storage cabinet in the garage, which will be locked.
You will access the home from a keypad (either through the garage or through the front door). A remote control for the garage will be available to use during your stay.
Most of your interaction will be with Kate & Nat, the property co-hosts. We live in the neighborhood and will respond quickly if you have questions or need anything, but it's unlikely that we'll meet in person.
The Short North Arts District is home to some of the best restaurants, shopping, art galleries, and night life in the city. Park your car and walk everywhere!
Victorian Village (our local historic district within the Short North) features incredible turn-of-the-century architecture and is known for its annual Tour of Homes. Take a Sunday stroll around Goodale Park or along Neil Avenue to enjoy the sights.
The Goodale Park Modern is located on Dennison Ave. across from Goodale Park. The area is very walkable to shopping and dining along High St. in the Short North Arts District.
The property has exterior security cameras.
At this time, the only TV is on the 3rd floor in the master suite. The TV does not have cable or access to any free live channels. It is a “smart” TV only. You will need to log into your own streaming accounts to play content on the TV.
