The studio apartment was perfect for our stay in Boston. It had everything we needed and was very clean. Michael was very responsive to any questions we had. The location was perfect. This will be our âgo toâ place for our future visits.
We enjoyed the apt and location which was close to the T and shops. The pathway down the hill was very convenient. It was very nice to be able to wash our clothes there since we had just returned from a bus tour. There were many books and pamphlets of the area for us to explore. Mike was
also very helpful when I couldn't maneuver getting an Uber or Lyft.
We were looking for a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the tram for adventuring. Mike provided a simple to follow guide to the neighborhood, the studio space, and getting to the tram and routes. The studio space was all we needed for a long weekend. Highly recommend, if my option means anything.
I wish I could recommend this place, because the owner is very communicative and you're a short 5-10 minute walk from the T so it's an easy in and out to Boston.
Unfortunately, the space has no A/C in it, and in the summertime it was literally awful. It's humid, buggy, and grossly warm. When I messaged the owner about it, they said it was clearly stated in the listing - but the only place the listing mentions it at all is by listing "heating" as an amenity instead of "heating/cooling." In the evenings the temperature was between 78 and 82 according to the thermostat.
The place is well-equipped with a great microwave, fridge, etc, good water pressure, towels and so forth. It would have been an exceptional stay if it hadn't been for the terrible climate control. The owner was very helpful and communicative besides that and the property is pretty cute and cozy. Maybe in the spring and fall it wouldn't be so bad.
Great place to stay, close to everything but tucked away!
Great place within walking distance to the green line. Easy commute to Fenway and beyond. Host was great with communication and provided easy check in and out. Would satay again.
It was very well equipped, clean and had a comfortable bed .
We did not have a car so used the MTA or an Uber. The neighborhood is lovely and very quiet.
WE are 80 years old and I did not reckon with the walk to the T being so hilly. It would be difficult for some. Ubers seem to be plentiful, however.
Private Brookline area studio, conveniently located
This cozy studio provided everything for a safe, comfortable, convenient stay in Brookline. Close to transportation, restaurants, and shopping, but secluded enough to be quiet and private. Great walks in the nearby area! Host Mikeâs communication before, during, and after my stay was clear, courteous, and prompt. Check in and out were smooth and easy to understand. The property was clean and tidy, with everything I needed. Thanks especially for the electric kettle: a real plus for a tea drinker!
We stayed 5 nights in March-April 2019. We were completely satisfied with the room but, what really sold us, was Mikeâs generous hospitality. He went above and beyond to give us a great experience.
The room offered everything we needed â including a sauna. Microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, frig with freezer, free wifi. The queen bed was very comfortable â I would rate is as firm. The basement room was very quiet. The one caution I will mention is that, if you are 6â1â or taller, note that this is a basement room with low ceilings.
The room is in Brookline, west of Boston. Itâs a 50-60 minute ride on the T and a 10-minute walk from the T to the house. 15 minutes or 2 T stops west is Washington Square. There are multiple restaurants/shops and a Star Market (grocery). 15 minutes or 2 T stops east is Coolidge Corner. Again, multiple restaurants/shops and a Trader Joeâs.
Bottom line is we had a great stay and would book this room again on a future trip to Boston.
Very clean, comfy, well-priced, an excellent location for walks, food, shops, transit
Our HomeAway stay was located on a leafy residential street, with easy walking access (about a half-mile) to Green Line Riverside, and an easy (half-mile) stroll to hip Coolidge Corner restaurants, shopping, and Green Line Cleveland Circle to Fenway, Beacon Hill, Freedom Trail and more. Close to colleges and universities also.
Our host Mike provided very clean, quiet, private accommodation. The queen mattress was comfortable, reading lamps good, furnishings in excellent condition, sheets and blankets comfortable. Plenty of storage for our travelers' stuff. A table and chairs to sit and spread out papers or takeaway meals. A large quiet fan for white noise and/or air as needed. The other occupants of the building were also very quiet, lending a restful mood to our accommodation.
The kitchenette was well furnished for our needs (no stove--but microwave, coffee maker, free coffee and fridge). The bathroom very clean also, with plenty of towels, toiletries, and a beautiful, warm sauna that I enjoyed. I would recommend a shallower depth of medicine cabinet, as I like to lean over the sink to wash face and brush teeth.
Although Mike provides parking, we did not use a car, preferring the public transit and Lyft for our airport trips); and he gave us a refund/discount for not using the parking.
The only downside of the accommodation would be if guests wanted an outdoor space, or outdoor views, as this studio is in a walkout lower level, which is stated on the website. Since our focus was getting out and about Boston, Mike's place provides the perfect location to visit the city, and a nest to return to in the evenings. Our only issue was a fluke TV set that died. Mike gave us a refund for that (it was World Cup Final weekend, which was very important to us as soccer referees), and we were able to enjoy the final game at walking distance Grainne O'Malley's pub (great fish and chips, cheerful attentive waitstaff); and Mike planned to replace the TV immediately.
Overall, a great value! We would definitely stay at this HomeAway again.
My husband and I stayed in the unit over Memorial Day weekend. It was perfect for two people and located in a nice, quiet, residential area. We took a short walk to public transportation and were able to go everywhere we planned to go using the T. I originally thought we would use Uber, but we only used it to get to and from the airport. Several coffee shops, restaurants, and a Trader Joe's close by as well. Owner was very responsive to my questions. I would recommend it.
We really enjoyed our recent stay in Boston. Although it was during a cold spell, we kept cozy and warm in a great studio basement apartment. The studio included a sauna, which was perfect to warm up in after a day of sightseeing and braving the elements. Our host Michael was as warm-hearted as the accommodations.
Sweet stay, and handy to all the vital areas of Boston. If walking is your thing this is a perfect place to stay and use the Gardner path. We were kept very warm, and found this is a quiet place. If you are disabled at all the access would not work for you. Bed was extra firm, and room quite warm. We loved the kitchen and lots of storage since we stayed a longer amount of time.
Comfortable, clean place with all necessary amenities . Separate entrance, privacy. Great location, close to everywhere. Lot's of public transportation nearby. If you do need a car, parking is available for an extra fee of $25/night (cash)
It iss situated in a great suburban-Ike location, yet within a walking distance from bustling Center of Brookline- Coolidge Corner, Brookline Village and Washington SQ with restaurants, shops, movie theater. 1.9 miles to Boston University, walk to Boston Medical Area with it's world class hospitals. 20 min ride to downtown Boston. Famous Fenway Baseball Park is about 2 miles away.
