Most disappointing VRBO stay
We arrived after a long day of travel through flash floods, only to be immediately disappointed by the condition of the property. It looked nothing like the photosâaged, dirty, and poorly maintained. The front door didnât even latch properly without the deadbolt. I contacted VRBO support to report numerous issues: only one working AC unit for three upstairs bedrooms in the Alabama summer heat, a bathroom door that wouldnât close, broken and mismatched furniture, a broken pull-out couch, missing outlet covers, curtain rods falling off, and belongings from previous guests still there.On Day 2, my pregnant wife cut her foot on an exposed staple on the stairs while following our two young kids. She needed a tetanus shot. My father and father-in-law removed 58 nails/staples from the stairs. We also found two broken chairs, sharp objects in the carpet, paint on a drinking glass, and broken glass in the dishwasher. I requested a full refund, which the property manager said theyâd look into.By Day 3, we were told to vacate immediatelyâwithout any prior notice or time to arrange new accommodations. Thankfully, a VRBO rep helped us find a new place and offered financial support. While a refund was promised, we havenât received it yet.VRBO did what they could, but this property was unsafe, misleading, and unacceptable. I absolutely cannot recommend it to anyone.
