The kitchen had everything we needed, pots pans, oil and seasoning as well as dishes. The laundry had soap and dryer sheets available it was perfect! The inside hammock needed a cushion though. One of the chairs was wobbly but the owners we very responsive and said their team could come out! We loved our stay. The house was so cute and decorated consistent with the theme, which was cool when we went to the naval museum and saw the blue angels fly! There were so many beds it was very accommodating! The fire pit was awesome and the propane had plenty to grill with too! The hammock was so comfy and peaceful.
The property was cute. However, the listing said it had central AC. When we arrived, the place had 2 portable AC units in the bedrooms and a window unit in the kitchen. Other than that, it was a great stay.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Duplex, Surprise Fees, and an Empty Propane Grill
We enjoyed our stay overall, but there were a few things that future guests might want to be aware of. The property is part of a duplex, which wasnât immediately clear from the listing photos or description. It didnât impact our stay, but more transparency wouldâve been appreciated. After booking, a lare security deposit was charged to my card. It wasnât mentioned during the booking process, and although it was refunded after our trip, I had to reach out a few times for updates and didnât receive a clear response. We asked about the BBQ grill before arriving, since the listing highlighted it. There was a propane tank as promised, but it was almost empty, and we werenât able to finish cooking. It would have been helpful to have a full or backup tank available. The home itself is older and could benefit from a deep clean, though everything was functional. Thereâs no central air, but the window and portable units worked well to keep us cool. The washer and dryer on-site were full-sized, which was a nice convenience, even though they were different from the photo. The kitchen had the basics but could use a few additional items, like a mixing bowl.Overall, this property worked fine for our trip, but a few small improvements and clearer communication would really enhance the guest experience.
If it werenât for the excellent responses and management our stay might have been less than ideal. We had several hiccups and inconveniences along the way that made the stay a bit difficult. When we arrived, there was mold covering the entirety of the closets and the air conditioning had been broken. They did in fact have window units to accommodate but it would have been nice to have a heads up considering the humidity. The dryer was also filled with water and they had to send someone immediately to come and fix it. The washer made a terrible sound as well. The dryer still didnât dry our clothes so we went home with 2 bags of wet clothes (one from the washer and one from the dryer). The shower floor was also uneven and not safe. Lastly, the surrounding neighborhood was not the safest, we actually had to call the police the first night on our way home because someone was passed out in the parking lot of the churches chicken (drug related). The management team really wants to do the right thing and they are very responsive and sent someone immediately upon request, although there are several issues that should have been fixed before our arrival. The property was nice despite the issues and we were glad it was dog friendly so our pups could join us at the beach. I hope that the issues are resolved soon because there is lots of potential.
