Talblick is "Valley View" - the apartment occupies the entire top floor of a traditional chalet in the mountain village of Wengen, less than ten minutes walk from the station along the quiet road to the Lauberhorn world cup ski race. Talblick is an excellent launchpad for couples to explore the surrounding mountain region - summer or winter - hiking or skiing. The new owners have kept the rustic feel of the property, which was built in the 1930s by a local family of carpenters.
Where to begin? This has been the best property weâve stayed at (not just in Switzerland but the last 10 countries weâve visited. The hosts, Will and Rebecca, are the nicest and most attentive hosts I have ever met.Regarding the property,In love with the traditional chalet and glad we chose Wengen and this property for our 5 night stay in the Jungfrau Region.-Close to the station but not surrounded by other hotels/property so it was already 10/10-2 balconies offering 2 different majestic views.-Love that it was stocked with basic supplies for both the kitchen and bathroom.-We were able to do laundry there too so that saved us luggage space-It was quiet, beds were very comfy, family friendly-Love the dining area, we had a stay-in after it rained for the whole afternoon and it was cozy and just the best.-Close to the Coop and another market thatâs open later.Overall: we wanted to cancel our second leg of the trip (Zermatt) if the property was available for a couple more days; thatâs how much we loved our stay! Wengen is in a good area to explore the Jungfrau Region. We hope to be back soon!
When your host is as warm, welcoming and caring as Rebecca and Myles are, you tend to enjoy the stay just a bit more. We stayed on the top floor, family of 4, 3F1M, chalet was clean and spacious. Good views overlooking the Alps from both the bedrooms, spent time there during our morning coffee. We were there in August probably one of the few hot days, it cools off by the time you sleep. If you are like us, you might also wonder how much fan would have been helpful to fall asleep and just to help circulation. That's the only recommendation we have. Another tip for the tenants would be when using hot water, don't shower under running water for long. Turn on water only when you need, it helps everyone get hot water back to back. It's about 10 minutes walk from the train station, with backpacks it's not big deal with carry-on luggage you will be ok. But anything bigger you will feel it, both walking down to the chalet and getting luggage up to the top. But hey you have to do it once in and out. Over all we enjoyed the stay. Wengen is much much quieter than Lauterbrunnen. But views from LAUTERBRUNNEN are just amazing! But it's busy as heck and you may not get the quiet swiss town experience you are looking for.
Absolutely Perfect Stay â Exceeded Expectations!I canât say enough wonderful things about our experience! From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless and thoughtfully arranged. The space was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and felt like a true home away from home. The host was incredibly responsive, kind, and accommodatingâevery message was answered quickly, and they even went above and beyond with little touches like local tips and a welcome that made me feel truly valued as a guest. The location was fantasticâquiet and peaceful, yet just minutes walk from great restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Whether we were enjoying my morning coffee on the balcony or relaxing after a day of exploring, we felt totally comfortable and cared for.I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing, and top-notch experience. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Wengen is nestled in the beautiful Jungfrau region - stunning views all your round, great skiing in the winter, unparalleled hiking and mountain biking in the summer.
Talblick is a traditional Swiss mountain chalet, built by a family of local carpenters in the 1930s - we're only the second family to live in the house. You can see the heritage of the building in the black and white photos we've shared on the profile. Happy to share more of the history when you're here!
