Great spot, quiet except for a few dogs, just off US 19 with easy access to everything.
We have stayed in the area before as well as in Hudson. We like the easy going quiet life style. It is a blue collar area without any high-rise condos. We prefer this area instead of something like Treasure Island.
Lots of tourism things to do. Lots of stores and many beaches that tend to be quiet.
The owner was easy to deal with and everything went well.
If you are looking for a homely property, then this would probably suit you, The home is not a modern property but it was clean and tidy, although we found there was a lot of personal items all around the home, which needs decluttering, along with many post it notes all round the home giving lots of does and don'ts, All this could be replaced by an information sheet.Being in a residential area resulted in little privacy at the back and views of neighbours sheds and washing lines etc. It needs a low fence around the home to give some privacy, also the view of the Bayou was very limited. We had to use both beds as we found them to be very hard and uncomfortable resulting in many sleepless nights. Both require either new mattresses or good quality mattress toppers. We found that New Port Richey and the surrounding areas were a good place to visit, with lots of restruants and parks etc and this made our stay worthwhile.
Like most places there were minor issues: The master bath shower did feel like needles when first used. The second time I used it I didnât turn it on full blast and it was fine; Iâd still recommend a new shower head. The kitchen cabinets had a faint odor. I had to put my nose up to it to smell so it didnât bother me. The automatic sprinkler can be noisy. There is a dedicated breaker that can shut it off if you need to. Avoid the cactus near the driveway, it has small needles on the flowers. New pans for cooking would also be nice. Washing the sheets and taking our garbage with us the last day was inconvenient. These are minor issues but since they were mentioned by another review I wanted to address them.Nice things about the place are: The house is the cleanest Iâve been in. We had no bugs during our stay which is pretty impressive considering this is Florida. The neighbors were nice and the area felt very safe. The Beds and furniture are comfortable. There are parks and beaches nearby. James E. Grey, Anclote Gulf, Anclote River and Key Vista park all within a 10 minute drive. Howard Park & Howard Beach have two small but nice beaches about 15 minutes away. Jay B Starkey park has hiking and biking trails about 20 minutes away. Honeymoon beach is a large beach about a 40 minute drive.Overall it was a very nice stay, a nice location and a decent house. The owner was very responsive and helpful with any questions. A few little tweaks would have made this place a 9 or 10.
Misleading pics (driveway size, neighborâs property has the bayou). Smell of mold or mildew (mustiness) is overwhelming in garage, house, and when opening kitchen cabinets (visible ceiling water damage noted in many areas). Water had been shut off (found this out AFTER I had used the facilities). What kind of person turns off water between clients? Apparently, the same kind who tells you to turn on (and off) certain breakers and plug in/unplug the fridge (not good for disabled folks) and adjust the thermostat and humidor to certain very specific levels. Zero feeling of hospitality! List of rules includes checkout day you wash, dry, fold sheets and towels, so forget about early checkout. No extra towels or sheets, maid does not do laundry. So you pay cleaning fee but have to do cleaning before you can leave. Massive dead cockroach in the living room, full trashcan on arrival but instructed to NOT leave trash in the can but take it with you and illegally dump it at WaWa. Thermostat will not allow it to get colder than 70 so forget paying for comfort. Rugs everywhere without pads and 4â step for LR, so plenty of trip hazards for disabled. TVs a nightmare with no instructions (but detailed rules everywhere else). Ended up not able to watch in the master bedroom and used a laptop. Showers old and tiny (more rules) and water felt like a thousand stinging needles without any other settings. Overall, it was a waste of money with no refunds, no recourse. Run!
We like the layout of the place along with the amount of space. It is located in a quiet neighborhood about a mile west of hwy. 19. Visitors can do as much or as little as they want.
The property is on a quiet street and is reasonably close to most of the places we frequent. Deena has been responsive to the few questions we have had.
Stayed here while house hunting in the area. Very convenient to shopping, (Publix, Winn Dixie, TJ Max,x , etc). I stayed home for my meals and the kitchen can handle almost anything you want.
We enjoyed our stay at Deenaâs home, which was spacious and well maintained. Though New Port Richey does not have an abundance of tourist attractions, it is relatively close to Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, and Clearwater for daily excursions.
We especially appreciated Deenaâs quick response to minor issues involving the television and a light fixture.
The neighborhood has a handful of homes needing TLC, but it is quiet with no evidence of vandalism or unsafe conditions.
Since this was our first experience using VRBO, we were pleased with the entire process.
Ultra clean, roomy, well equipped and comfortable home. This 79 year old single lady felt very secure and safe in an extremely quiet neighborhood during a 10 day stay. Owner quickly responded to texts and phone calls from check in to check out. Easy access to route 19 and 54.
Nice place, quiet neighborhood but NO POOL!!! The main reason I booked this house.
The house is in a nice location but you do have to travel to do anything. My wife and son were very disappointed that there was no pool access. Was told we may be able to use the community pool a few blocks away but that requires a $350 membership fee to get in. Also you are required to wash all the laundry before you depart, so make sure you plan on that before leaving. The property owner seems like a very nice lady and attentive to concerns. For the price point the house is worth the cost.
Stayed here for 2 weeks while my apartment was getting ready for my move in. The house is so adorable and quiet. There was an issue with the dryer at first but the owner acted Super fast and everything was perfect afterwards
My only suggestion would to bring more Tupperware for food and more towels
This is a comfortable clean two-bedroom home located in a residential area. It was a quiet area, access to Highway 19 about a mile away. About 5 miles access to parks and beaches. Anclote River park and Anclote Gulf park offers relaxing sites.
Plenty of restaurants in the area and close to things to do.
One concern we had was the restriction in the contact for electricity. The weather fluctuated from low 40âs at night to high 80âs in day during February. We were uncomfortable at times.
Also the Bayou view in the listing is deceptive. The Bayou is much farther away than presented. Only made only walk down to the shore through private property.
Property #4502035. - 3851 Berwick Drive, New Port Rickey, Florida.
Our stay at property #4502035 was very enjoyable. The house was very clean and the location was close to various parks and beaches and numerous restaurants. Neighborhood was quiet and safe.
House was clean, but did have a closed-musty odor which took us a few days to eliminate. Once the A/C was in use it disappeared. Also some of the linens-towels do need to be replaced.
We were disappointed the property did not have direct access to the bayou. Linda Forgues the realty representative assured us the neighbor next door would have no issues with us walking back on her property, but the second day she posted NO TRESPERSING signs facing the rental home. She had made it clear access across her property was not an option, so we never did venture down to the bayou to see it up close for pictures.
Overall our stay was extremely enjoyable and the weather also co-operated so we had a very relaxing vacation.
