Welcome to The Ranch, your pet-friendly retreat nestled in the woods! This spacious 5 bdrm home offers ample outdoor space & stunning views perched above a stocked trout pond. Experience the perfect blend of relaxation & adventure, with the ski resort just 6 miles away and the charming village of Stowe just minutes from your door. Hike, bike, enjoy local food, breweries or unwind at home. Whether seeking outdoor activities or peaceful moments, the Ranch is your ideal getaway in every season. The home does not feel pretentious or fancy - but is the perfect mix of an inviting family-friendly space and welcoming and cozy Vermont getaway. The main floor has had many new renovations including an all new entry way and 'great room' including all new kitchen appliances and countertops and newly refinished flooring... it feels very fresh! The house setting is among the most special pieces of the story. Nestled in the woods, the home is perched above a pond full of wildlife, and the hills surrounding the house seem to hug the home while extending an invitation to explore at the same time. There is a very special energy here... we hope you'll feel it too. The home is all yours for your time in Stowe with us, and you will have access via a keypad code at the entry. There is an apartment attached to the home. There is only one small shared wall that is in the entryway/mudroom of the home. The outdoor space is yours to use in full although we do ask the guests be mindful of others staying in the apartment and just not spend time around their outdoor living space, which is quite minimal comparatively. The only potential interaction possibility would be in the driveway. I am available via email/airbnb platform/mobile phone at any time during your stay but will not otherwise be on property. Occasionally I do some woodwork/picture framing cuts in the barn... but very rarely. The home is set in the woods off of a short dirt road that services 8 homes in total - but you'll only see a few of them. There is a community pond, however only 3 of the homes have waterfront on the pond... ours being one of them. Our little 'neighborhood' is only a few short minutes from all of the favorite spots in Stowe... Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe Mountain Resort and the Historic Village. It feels worlds away but it so conveniently located to all. We're just over the hill from Trapp Family Lodge so in the Summer months and on NYE when they have fireworks shows you'll be able to see them from the dining room window. :) You'll need a vehicle - there is nothing walking distance except the pond and any walking through the woods you'd like to do. In the Summer our trails connect into the Cady Hill Trails for Mt Biking access. Our driveway is definitely snowy and can be icy in the Winter - please plan accordingly with snow tires... there will be no getting up the road/driveway without snow tires. AWD/4WD definitely recommended because you never know when a big snow storm will come! Fingers crossed. :) The barn has nothing of any use except in its quaint visual setting on the property - and is used by the homeowner for storage - so we ask guests to please respect that space and stay out of it.

Very large and comfortable property that is pet-friendly. Host was very communicative and addressed all of our concerns. The location is perfect -near the village of Stowe, and also close to the Von Trapp Lodge as well as Ben & Jerry’s. Lots of hiking trails nearby. Our favorite thing was the breathtaking view from the dining area!

We had an amazing stay as the house and property were perfect for our family summer vacation. We loved relaxing out back by the pond with its peaceful view, and the big front yard was perfect for playing with our dog. The location couldn’t be better since it's just a short drive to downtown Stowe, Stowe Mountain, good hikes, and several great breweries we enjoyed visiting. The home was comfortable, well-kept, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

I would not recommend this rental home. Customer service was extremely unprofessional and the home itself was not up to the standards advertised. During our stay the heating did not work. The host was not apologetic and was passive aggressive and dismissive of the problem. Not having adequate heating is a major issue. We were forced to run space heaters all night (which is a safety concern) to make the temperature livable. The cleanliness of the property was poor as well. There were cobwebs in the rooms, stains on the towels, and pine seed bugs all over the rental. We noticed the remnants of an electrical fire outside in addition to loose wires throughout the home. The subflooring is rotting and supports for the deck are at a concerning angle. I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere

Thank you for your stay. I’m sorry the home didn’t meet your expectations, and I’d like to provide some context for future guests. When you reached out about the heat, I responded immediately and offered to come to the house in person to resolve it. That offer was declined, and I didn’t receive replies to follow-up messages. Since it was a warm Fall weekend and only 45 degrees at coldest in the evenings, I assumed you were all just fine, since I received no response. The next guest checked in with no issues, and we later found the cause was simply a breaker left off by the technician who serviced the system the week before. During your stay, the home had several fully functioning heat sources—including a propane fireplace that heats the living area and electric heat in every bedroom—so the space heaters available were only meant as supplemental comfort, not the primary heat source. Regarding the other concerns mentioned, the home is professionally cleaned and inspected before every arrival, and the items photographed were either normal for a wooded mountain setting (I wish I could say that there are no bugs in the mountains) or part of previously decommissioned outdoor equipment that poses no safety risk. We had a pool onsite that had electrical issues and has been removed altogether. Our licensed contractors have confirmed the structural components of the home, including the deck, are sound. I care about guest comfort and safety and am always quick to address anything that comes up when given the opportunity. I invite future guests to read the many other reviews that reflect the responsive communication and well-maintained home we consistently provide.
