Beautiful, relaxing beach home. We had a fantastic vacation!
Our 1st trip to Sanibel could not have been better! This beach house was so relaxing and the owner has thought of everything to make you feel right at home. The first of many Sanibel trips and fantastic memories for us. Can't wait to book our next stay.
My husband, 2-year-old and I had a lovely month at Elinor Cottage! It was a quick 10-minute walk to the beach and 2-min drive out to the main road to get to the grocery store, playground, library etc. Everything was clean and spacious, leaving us plenty of living area to be inside on days where the weather wasnât as nice. We especially enjoyed taking lunch breaks on the large screened-in porch, sleeping in the comfortable king-sized bed in the primary suite, and using the pool on warmer days. Highly recommend!
Weâve stayed on the island many times, and prefer this neighborhood - close to restaurants and shopping, close to the bridge, can bike anywhere, and the beach is only a short walk away. And this house in particular is very private, because it is on a road with a dead end.
Very good communication with the owner, and the kitchen has all the pots and pans and knives you need to cook your own meals.
My husband and I loved the location of this cute home. It was close to beaches and a short bike ride to town. We enjoyed the nice yard, the large master suite, and the open floor plan. Our bed was very comfortable, and the linens and towels were plenty and of good quality. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. We even threw a dinner party for friends. We would be happy to come again.
The property is private, quaintly decorated, giving a very cozy feel. It is well-equipped, including with its own well-maintained pool. Graciela was very promptly responsive to a few problems that arose, seemingly because of repairs that had been needed following the hurricane, and so, despite the challenges of trades people having to negotiate terrible causeway traffic delays, all of our concerns were quickly addressed. We had a lovely holiday.
From first to communication to checking in on us during a tornado to needing a favor after we left the hosts were outstanding. After having stayed in several VRBOs quality of hosts is as important as the property. This house is in a great quiet location minutes from the beach and on the East Gulf path! The home itself was great for four adults but is set up for family with kids! Great well maintained pool. Cant say enough.
Good: Spacious with good storage, comfortable beds, large screened porch, close to beach and shops, fast internet, included a decent supply of bath and dish soap, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper, included 2 bikes, 2 beach chairs and a beach umbrella.
Bad: Pervasive bad smell from nearby wastewater plant, insufficient quantity of dishes & silverware, pool deck lacks shade, some minor maintenance issues, we were given an incorrect door code and couldn't get in when we arrived.
Family of four coming in and out at various times. It was PERFECT for us. Fantastic location. Beautiful and comfortable house and pool. Peaceful. We cooked. We ate. We swam and bicycled. Cooked. Ate (sipped). Hosts were wonderful!! Super responsive to any question. Thank you Graciela!
A lovely house in a quiet cul de sac. Very well appointed, near beach and a beautifully warm pool. The owners were extremely kind and attentive and everything was just perfect. Thank you John and Graciela. We would love to return one day!
My family and I had an incredible month of July! The house was immaculate, perfect for spending time together due to itâs open space. The pool was simply perfect and kept clean every week. Nerita beach was unbelievable, so close to the property! We will be back. Thank you Graciela and John for a wonderful time!
This lovely quiet home is perfect for those who like being close to the ocean. You can enjoy relaxing around the pool or have beach walks along Sanibel's shell-covered coast
The villa was lovely and in a good location. The main living area and master bedroom were very nice. The kitchen and bathrooms were fine and the upstairs porch was good.
The swimming pool however, needs work. The bottom of the pool is starting to crack and some of the cement was coming apart. Sometimes sore to stand on.
During our stay we also had a couple of problems. The toilet in the main bathroom had an issue where the water was constantly running. This was very annoying at night when trying to sleep. This was fixed in a couple of days. Following a heavy storm, the ceiling in the 2nd bedroom started to leak. We requested this be fixed, but it took the roofers nearly a week and two trips to sort it. This meant we had to sleep on the fold down bed in the downstairs area for a few nights.
So, in summary, a nice villa in a good area, but there is some maintenance required to make it spectacular.
After living in SW Florida for 18 years, we moved to Texas in 2013. It was very soon that we started missing the beautiful beaches and amazing weather that Florida has to offer. We decided to come back and can not wait to spend time on this beautiful island!!
We wanted the typical island architectural home style and it needed to be on a large lot as we all enjoy privacy. The home is located in a cul-de-sac so there is no through traffic. We preferred a pool that was not screened so we can enjoy the sea breezes and the open feel! Also, being a short walk to the one of most beautiful beaches we know was a must! We look forward to having our guests enjoy this home as much as we do and will!
