Our home sits right on the Steinhatchee river, It's Upstairs balcony looks over the river for a relaxing view along with the wildlife management area across the river. There's a dining bar on the second floor deck for meals that also overlooks the river. If you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of a manatee in the river. There are 4 kayaks at the cabin with PFD's for adult use.
The river is not deep enough here for larger boats. You can bring a canoe or kayaks. We are 4-5 miles upstream from the boat launch in town . Again only small boats can be put in at the house.
We are located on a double lot with plenty of parking for boats and trailers and the Marina is only 5 minutes down the road for you to put your larger boat into the Gulf. It is a clean and a safe place for you to dock your boat. Historic Steinhatchee Falls are located right down the road for a day of swimming and walking the trails.
Our cabin is located on a dead end dirt road. So if your looking for a nice quiet getaway this might be exactly what your looking for.
Fantastic cabin for our weekend stay. Everyone loved the dock and kayaks. We spent mornings and evenings on the dock fishing, catching gar, catfish, and bowfin. We explored the river on the kayaks which were in great condition. The cabin had all the necessities we needed and was comfortable for our family of four. The host was also super accomodating. Definitely recommend.
Cabin was very well cared for and all amenities needed (bedding, dowels, internet) were abundant and accessible. Kitchen had a large amount of glasses, utensils and cooking implements which made cooking meals a breeze. The setting was GORGEOUS and fairly private considering it was among other riverfront homes, because there was some vegetation to block the view from neighbors. Outdoor seating was abundant as well, with a variety of options. Will absolutely stay here on future scalloping trips.
So this is at least my third time staying at this property and first time under the new owner Rebecca. Being my third time is telling you something right there, but the upgrades that Rebecca has done to this place has greatly improved it. First and foremost the place is very, very quiet and peaceful that you primarily only hear the wind or the squirrels through the trees. Great little floating dock out back along with an outdoor fireplace. Rebecca has adding four kayaks for her guests and has updated the appliances (fridge & stove) along with a keyless front door lock and updated decor both interior and exterior. Rebecca is very friendly and easy to work with, she even let me check in early since there weren't any guests day of my check in date. Thank you again for everything Rebecca. I highly recommend this little cabin if you wanna get away, relax, unplug and recharge. If it's booked on your dates it's probably cause I am there once again and will continue to be in the future.
Steinhatchee is our favorite place. Both of us are native Floridians. Hunting and fishing together are a couple of our hobbies. We stay in the cabin ourselves at least once a month.
Steinhatchee is a great small town. You can ride your golf cart or side by side down the road. This a water town, your either on the river or in the Gulf. Fresh fish is abundant.
We're right on the river. We offer kayaks so you can take full advantage of the water. Right down the road is Steinhatchee springs where you can swim, fish, or put kayaks in at to go down river to our cabins dock.
