We absolutely loved this house, the location at the lake is so beautiful, we enjoyed the views from morning till evening. We saw chipmunks, ground squirrels and a fox around the porch. Very quiet and relaxing place to come back to after a day in Yellowstone, highly recommendable!
Cute place, rustic , beautiful view. Two grills make for great cooking. Bring mosquito repellent for about a 2 hour evening period. Not directly on the lake so need to drive a half mile to launch a boat or kayak. The floors are squeaky but you get used to it. Upstairs 3 bedrooms a little small but quaint. Stairs are narrow and not for the elderly. Very quiet, we really enjoyed the area. Not far from Yellowstone.
Great location, with room for improvement on the property management side
During our trip to Yellowstone, we stayed at this lovely cabin for three nights. Although it was more than 20 minutes away from West Yellowstone, we appreciated the peaceful and natural surroundings. The cabin was spacious and tidy enough for our family of five. However, I would like to mention a few minor concerns. On the day of our arrival, the host was very responsive, but we did not hear from them again during our stay. The washing machine was out of order, and the host told us that it had been damaged for a week, but we were not informed earlier. If we had known in advance, we would have packed more clothes. The host promised to refund us for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, this did not happen. Additionally, we noticed a mouse running around in the family room, and it made the kids uncomfortable to spend time in the common areas. Lastly, the trash bin in the house is left on the street side, at the entrance of the driveway to the house, and you need to walk around 200 feet to dispose of your garbage before checking out.
Near enough to Yellowstone NP and West Yellowstone to be convenient for visiting the park but very quiet area away from the tourist traps and hotels. Four bedrooms is hard to find and this gave our whole party (4 adults, 1 child) their own space. Living room, kitchen, dining table were all put to good use. Had trouble getting the fridge to the right temp (some of our food froze) but that was probably operator error. Henry's Lake itself is not widely used, no swimming area, very little boating. Would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I stayed here for a little over a week and the view of Henry Lake is stunning. We only used the main floor so I can't speak to using the upstairs but the main floor was comfortable with the stocked kitchen and fireplace. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and it was nice to be able to use the washer and dryer without disturbing anyone since the cabin was all ours. Be sure to bring house shoes (which we had) unless you're comfortable going barefoot as it's requested to not wear shoes in the house. Elise was so prompt in answering our questions and even checked with the cleaning crew to see if they had found a lost item. The only suggestion I could make would be to add a toaster to the kitchen supplies but otherwise, it was a lovely stay.
The cabin was very nice. The amenities were great. There were even bathroom products in case you forgot them. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and blankets were nice. I had 1 question when we arrived and Elise promptly responded. I would rent this cabin again if I stayed in the Yellowstone area.
The cabin was perfect to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Quiet, lovely, sunrise, stars, blessingsâŁïž
We had a wonderful visit out west to adventure in the national parks, enjoying Gods creation in the stars, sunrises, birds, the lake, a moose nearby just off road. We went into Yellowstone most days but also enjoy a full day at the cabin! It was cozy, clean and everything we needed! Grilled a nice dinner, enjoyed the gas fireplace just wish we could have kept it on continually. We arrived at dark and the driveway and house numbers were are to find but we eventually did ! God blessed us so much! Prayed owners and all who visit after will be blessed toâŁïž
We absolutely loved this property. The view from the living room and porch is fantastic. The area was quite too. The drive to Yellowstone wasnât long at all. We are so happy we chose this place just a tad further from west Yellowstone, so get out of the super touristy part. Inside the cabin is exactly like the pictures. Itâs clean and inviting. I would love to go back. This was the perfect place to relax after a day at the park.
Fantastic place to stay if you are looking for a nice, private place to stay just outside Yellowstone. It was about a 20 minute drive to the west gate of Yellowstone.
The house was great! Clean, spectacular view of Henryâs Lake and the mountains nestled on each side. Very cozy home where there was plenty of room for my family of six and so convenient with laundry machines there. We brought our own detergent, but they had some available. It also came stocked with toiletries, coffee, spices for cooking, an sweet older toaster which cooked way better than modern toasters. The cold water was so clean and ice cold, hot water was dangerously hot so be careful!
There were essentially two types of mattresses medium and firm (real firm). The beds and linens were very clean. The temperatures there during the day were in the mid-70s during the day and dropped to the 40s in the evening. The bedrooms upstairs would get very warm, but if you opened a window it was very manageable.
They had satellite TV and a smart TV so if you have a Netflix account it worked great.
The views again were amazing. Two very large windows had a perfect view of the lake and mountains. The remote location also made stargazing extraordinary and coming from a big city it was breathtaking to see that kind of night sky. It was in such a quiet and peaceful location where you could just sit back on the porch and listen to the wind and animals. Plenty of animals were seen as well; squirrels, chipmunks, various birds, hummingbirds, various lake animals, and even saw a few elk and a coyote.
The owner was incredibly quick to respond to a couple things that came up and immediately rectified then. She was very kind and a big help. We highly recommend staying there!
The cabin was a good jump off point for our week at Yellowstone. The property was accurately described. Ălise was very responsive when we contacted her. I recommend it.
We spent almost a week enjoying all the sites of Yellowstone and Grand Tetons! The location and beauty was perfect for our stay. The only possible improvement would maybe be a few more cooking essentials since we didnât eat out much. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Cute rustic cabin that had everything we needed. Beautiful views, well stocked kitchen and plenty of room for a family of 6. Upstairs rooms were a little toasty in the evening but there were plenty of windows to cool it off thru the night. TV and Wifi worked great. We were very comfortable and loved this location just 25 min from west yellowstone gate. Thank you!
Grandpa's Cabin has years of rich tradition in which he has shared his love of fishing and the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. It has been a place of camaraderie, learning and fun times spent over the years with Grandpa. We learned how to fish and fly fish with all the locals at Staley Springs. Grandpa's cabin is on Henry's Lake right near Staley Springs. There are beautiful lake views from the cabin on this world famous fly fishing lake.
There are so many things to do at Grandpa's Cabin and nearby--fly fishing on the lake, on Henry's Lake Outlet, Henry's Fork River in Island Park (10 miles), Madison River, South Fork of the Madison (8 miles), Quake Lake, Hebgen Lake--all within 15 miles of the cabin. 15 miles from Last Chance/Island Park and 15 miles from West Yellowstone and entrance to Yellowstone National Park. IMAX and Grizzley Bear/Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone. World famous fly fishing in the summer and fall, ice fishing through December. Snowmobiling from the cabin on groomed trails to Two Top, Sawtelle and Henry's Lake Flats. Maps of fishing holes, and a list of fly selection for the lake will be provided to guests. Trolling tips for non-flyfishing guests will also be provided.
