I booked this stay expecting a private entire home as advertised. VRBOâs marketing explicitly states you donât have to share your space but that wasnât the case here.I arrived late (2 AM) due to traffic and immediately noticed another car in the driveway, which confused me. Still, I went around back and entered. The overhead light didnât work, so I had to use my phone flashlight to find a floor lamp, the only light source in the âstudio apartment.âIt became clear this was not an entire home but a single garage room with a wall dividing it from the rest of the house. Tired, I figured Iâd at least make something to eat, but the âfully equipped kitchenâ was actually a microwave, a dirty broken-legged hotplate, two spoons, two spatulas, a butter knife, two cups, and no plates, pots, pans, forks, or usable knives.Iâd brought food to cook but couldnât. At 2 AM nothing was open, so I went hungry and also missed breakfast before work the next morning. On the way to work, I requested a refund and left. I left my food and lunchbox behind in the fridge, expecting the host to be understanding and let me comeback after work but they told me they would charge me for another night if I wanted access after 11 AM....so I forfeited my food too...This experience was disappointing and kinda ruined my first day...I didn't get a full refund either.. Travelers deserve honesty and basic functionality, especially when paying for a private, âentireâ home. Pass on this space...
